  1. Teams can go over slot, but they have to take from another pick do to so. Effectively they have a set signing amount based on all of their pick's slots. If you can get a pick to sign under slot, you can then give that amount to another pick.
  2. I finally made it back out on the trail this weekend. I camped out at the Lake of the Clouds (actually three small lakes) near Westcliffe, CO. The lakes were at 11,500ft. The hike up wasn't too bad, about 2,500ft of elevation gain over 4.5 miles. I had to contend with some snow when I finally go to the lakes, so I had to get my tent setup quickly. Thankfully, the snow blew over in an hour and didn't stick. My evening ended up being quite relaxing as I was the only person camping there. Unfortunately, there is currently a fireban in place, so no campfire, but I had some scotch to warm me up. Initial trail about 15 minutes from the trailhead Just after the first stream crossing Weather looked like it wanted to roll in all day Lake 1 and where I camped Just a little bit of snow Lake 2 Lake 3 Lake of the Clouds lived up to the name!
  3. I can't think of a stretch where you will go 17 miles without water of some sort. But I haven't looked at the data book in the last couple of years, so my memory could be hazy. I believe the worst stretch (in terms of water) is segment 2 or 3, through the Hayman fire burn. I'm hoping to do the Colorado trail in the next few years, so I'll be watching for your updates!
  4. Most days you will not need nearly that much water thankfully as water tends to be fairly plentiful along the trail.
  5. Good article. Here it is in full if you don't want to click through:
  6. One game doesn’t make the season, but DAMN doesn’t winning feel better than losing!
  7. I think there is a good chance Nuke is back next year. But even in the KHL, he hasn't shown the promise everyone dreamed of when he was drafted.
  8. I'm in this boat. We were going full rebuild once Ohtani chose Anaheim.
  9. Yeah, that hit me in the feels when I read it this morning. Adrian and Elvis are part of what makes baseball great.
  10. I know, but a man can dream that someone will want a full season of Beltre instead of whatever scrub they are rolling out at third.
  11. I think they had a great group of young minds with Daniels, Preller ,and Levine with a figurehead elder statesman in Ryan that worked great back then. When all of those pieces started to move away, the chemistry and energy just is no longer there.
  12. Unless they go full Dyson from last year, they really only have up to go. The projected strengths of Diekman and Bush are definitely not living up to their projections so far. And I do realize that we are a couple of weeks into the season, and conceivably, they could get their acts together, but I have zero optimism about this team.
  13. I say deal Beltre as soon as we can for as good of a deal as possible. Float Choo to anyone who will listen and offer up to take on a chunk of his salary to try to get a halfway decent prospect in return. Move Gallo back to third. Bring up Guzman for first and Willie for DH, assuming service times are met for the extra year. Embrace the suck and go full rebuild.
  14. And the Marlins actually try to be shitty, so we are "competing" with a team that puts effort into dealing away their talent.
  15. The one bright spot for the team hurt. Ugh
  16. Anyone tried https://flaviar.com/ ?
  17. @TheFlagship Wasn't Buckel the kid that got the yips and completely lost the strike zone? Quick trip to the Googles, and I start typing in Cody Buckel and it auto completes with yips... https://www.ocregister.com/2017/03/21/pitcher-cody-buckel-his-career-derailed-by-the-yips-starting-over-with-angels/
  18. The first prospect that I remember caring about at all was Benji Gil. As the way with most prospects, he never amounted to much.
  19. This team is the anti-clutch.
  20. Remember when Perez was a hotshot prospect with TORP potential....ugh
  21. I think he needed 35 days in the minors, so should be able to come up the first week of May.
  22. Training for my first run, the Garden of the Gods 10k in June. I'm going from zero running so doing a couch to 10k program. We shall see how it goes.
  23. Ebeye

    Scotch

Goes for about $92 to $115 where I am, so I would say get a couple
  24. I learned my lesson with the Wheel of Time. Don't reread the series until the series is done. I can't tell you how many times I worked through the initial books. Thankfully with WoT, the early books were great, but a few too many braid tugs after a while. I'm not picking SOIAF again until he drops dead, and hopefully someone else finishes it. Although I'm doubtful that even happens as HBO will put a nice bow on everything.
