The Devil's solo is better than Johnny's solo in the Devil Went Down to Georgia.
Also, Johnny called the Devil a s son of a bitch. So he's basically calling god a bitch. Not very southern....
I'll bet on some games every once in a while. But every year, I always bet $10 on:
UT football winning NC
Cowboys winning SB
Rangers winning WS
The least favorite horse in the Kentucky Derby.
This year, I decided that was a stupid waist of money. So I didn't place any of those...fuck...
My wife and I wanted a dog. One night, she just came home with a dog...... There was no actual discussion.
She told me not be mad.
I told her not to be mad at me if I came home with a stripper.
When we moved my commute went from 30-45 minutes one way, to 3 minutes. I found the hardest thing was I don't have that 30 minutes to decompress from work before dealing with kids and homelife. Don't get me wrong, because I love my family and stuff. But that transition from sales guy to "what the fuck is roblox" was hard.
Fortunately, my wife is very understanding when I stop for a beer or 2 every once in while.
When I was in High School. This cheerleader and I went on a date. She was fucking gorgeous. She was way the fuck out of my league. It took her like an hour and half decide what she wanted. At Chili's.
I asked how fucking hard it was to find something to eat at fucking Chili's.
We did not have a second date.
I was thinking this too. It's not 1942, as advanced as weapon systems are today. Can't just retool a factory and start producing guided missiles in a couple of weeks.
I'm 45. My best friend and I have been friends since High school. We usually go have a couple of beers once a week. But for the last month he's been ditching me. He was basically my best man. My kids call him Uncle.
Today we had noon beers. ./
Him : "So, sorry I haven't been around. I just interviewed for Vice President of (major Corp yall all heard of)"
I'm crying. He didn't come from the best parts of town. I'm so fucking proud. /kinda gay
That's got to be another factor for me too. In my 20's I drank probably a 2 liter of Dr Pepper everyday. Now, first thing in the morning, I drink a 12 glass of water. I might have a couple of cups of coffee, but otherwise it's only water through the day. Unless I'm drinking at night, it's usually only water then as well.
And whether I'm drinking or not, I down 20 ounces of water just before sleep.
My guess: A much larger portion of the population is overweight now compared to 30 or 40 years ago. And I bet it's alot worse for them. But, If you're in reasonably good shape, it's probably alot better now than then.
For instance, while I think fast is probably even more unhealthy today than it was. You have many more options to find something at least reasonable than you used to.
Agreed. I think, for me, I drink about as much as I always have. but now I can afford better quality alcohol. Plus better food. I think eating reasonably healthy during the day having a nice whiskey neat or a good wine compared to Taco Bell and a 12 pack of Red Dog is probably the biggest factor.
Not that I eat super healthy, but I almost never eat fast food anymore.
My wife and I really like pizza. (upscale pizzas, not like dominoes, though we'll get that some). We also have two young kids so don't really get to go to those places often. The first time after everything reopened post COVID, my parents kept the kids overnight. So we both took a half day on Friday. Went to Cadillac Pizza in McKinney for lunch. Then around 5 went to Campisi's for the Bruschetta, a few drinks, and watch some football or something for an hour. Then went to a new pizza place that opened recently for actual dinner. Think it was called Perry's, but it was meh...
It was a nice chill afternoon/date night
Get the bruschetta next time. I think they're pizza is really good, but it's a thin crust. Which is not everyone's cup of tea.
But the bruschetta is the best I've ever had. There have been times my wife and I have stopped just for that and a couple of drinks. Then had dinner somewhere else.
My wife's old Honda Fit, the cupholder was to the left of the steering wheel right in front of AC vent. Which I guess is great if you want the heater to melt your ice during winter or to make your coffee cold in the summer.....
