  1. I’d guess I’ve taken a dozen trips to Aria in as many years, and I didn’t realize they had a Mexican joint. I had to look it up on their property map and see now it’s the place I’ve always enjoyed the people watching while playing craps! It occurs to me I’d never considered what everyone was always waiting in line for. Guess I’ll actually have to go in their next week…
  2. It was a parking lot hand, so I don’t recall even checking to see if it was Qc. It was definitely QJo, so, yes, a poor hand to be playing at all UTG, much less open limping with. His subsequent call pre was probably fine as last to act
  3. Still cbetting AA, KK, QQ and all AK on that flop Prob cbetting turn w KK, QQ, and all AK
  4. Excellent thank you. I’ve not been considering pot size, per se, when making these bet sizing decisions. I think my most typical approach is 3x the current bet, and perhaps an extra unit or two depending on how many callers there were. When I saw your post, my gut said 2400 was a good number so the folds weren’t surprising. I wasn’t sure if that’s what you were trying to do, but it sounds like you wanted a caller, and priced up due to table and none of them turned out strong enough to find a call.

I need to go check out what Living Colour is up to
  6. I saw an airball at Beau Rivage once
  7. I’m interested in your thought process on determining raise size in this situation. I’ll hang up and listen
  8. If there was any doubt left, Ron mistakenly outed himself. Only an admin could have posted with that trip code.
  9. Lol. The political ads about to fire up will be even more persistent somehow. There’s no forgetting this

Rock! Man, Doug still sounds great. That voice somehow doesn’t age
  11. Good point re him limping pre. He does do that frequently so perhaps solid isnt a good label. I would say he’s not splashy and a seemingly competent regular. I don’t ever see him get out of line, but he’s capable of smart bluffs. Not sure what to call that persona.
  12. I leveled myself. Decided he knew I might bluff jam here so I jam hoping he’d call with less. He then almost leveled himself thinking I’d only jam QQ because of the paired board and was convinced I had it. It took him a full minute to call with QJ.
  13. $2/5 NLH w $800 UTG ($1k, solid reg 40ish black guy) limps. I open UTG1 to $35 w ThTd. I had raised my opening size from $20 to $25 to $30 to $35 over three hours as I kept getting 4+ callers. Didn’t work, as HJ, CO and UTG all call. $140 pot JcTc9c. Checks to me and I cbet to $100. UTG calls. $340 pot. Qh. Check check Jh. UTG fires out $200. Call or jam $665?
  14. I can’t imagine you can net save at just 5k miles a year. I think I’ve read a new Tesla takes several years to break even on its carbon footprint with a typical driver (presumably 15k miles a year)
  15. Can’t wait for the Tea Party faction to chime in with zero irony awareness
  16. Not for me. Fortunately it looks like they’re going to run them all again on July 1 so we can catch them this time
  17. There are recs that come in occasionally that have never seen the cashier cage. No matter how well they’re doing they burn through their stack when they’re ready to leave. Inevitably they crush a few boards with their shit hands before finally getting taken out.
  18. A man gotta have a code
  19. Working theory: when you’ve developed an unwanted reputation as “too tight” when you’re playing properly, start straddling but change nothing else. Note, this may only be effective if few others are straddling, otherwise there’s no raised awareness. I’ve been breaking this out when I get two consecutive fold arounds to my opens/3bets. It seems to be reducing the hesitation to playing me by the regulars, at least for that session or until the table turns over.
  20. Is that how it works? Your F&B is included up to the cabana price? I’ve never paid for one, though I’ve mooched off of others that did. Never asked the price. I’ve got to think the max id pay straight up is like $200
  21. I imagine he was really confused if he had a strong hand chasing the straight flush, or a vulnerable hand with a middle flush scared of Ad and Kd hands catching up. In his shoes (though Q9s is not in my UTG opening range), I’d also cbet this flop, but don’t want to chase off straights or really even the Ad and Kd hands. I’d probably go half pot on flop and perhaps 2/3rds on that blank turn. I’d probably check jam the river, hoping to induce a bluff from the flush chasers or possibly a made straight (though I’m not sure those frequently bet with the flush possibility out there)
