You believe/think Harbaughs statement on JJ has any validity at all?  It’s an absurd claim to make.

He is saying it so 3 years down the road when JJ is better than Caleb Williams he can be like "told you so"

Caleb Williams is going to join Zach Wilson and Trey Lance as QBs who suck.

  2. samuel practiced today normally running routes and catching passes in both RB and WR drills
the only stat i can find for detroit to wishcast around is the 49ers have the most conference title appearances, but the most losses with a record of 7-11 in 18 games

If he plays it’s going to be tough. I like the stats that the 9ers are like 15-1 with CMac, Debo, and Purdy and without any of them they are 2-4.

friday 17th is only 7 days between semis and final - not nearly enough time for physical recovery, preparation for the next opponent, and depending on how the prior locations sort out, no way enough time for 2 fanbases to potentially undertake their 2nd transcon trip in as many weeks

They were closer this year. Monday to Monday between semis and final. Thursday and Friday to a week from Monday gives and extra 3 days for both teams.

That's really well laid out, IMO.  Outside of putting the natty on a Monday.  Put it on Friday the 17th.

I hate the Monday night championships. Friday or Saturday. Or start it earlier. I don't love that Thursday semi-final, either though.

It is going to be tough to schedule no matter what, so I will take it, but damn I hate those late games on the weeknights.

  5. The issue right now is that there is not enough time to really do much. If they keep Sherrone, they will keep the majority of the team in tact. If they go with anyone other than Sherrone there will be an exodus that makes Bama's portal hopping after Saban left look like a hiccup.

You can't really make a decision strictly focused on one year, but Michigan is going to be really good again next year. Their defense will be number 1 in the country again, and they return the battery of the offense with Loveland, Edwards, Mullings and an experienced O-Line. They pick anyone but Sherrone, and they go from competing for the B1G and getting into the playoff to a full on rebuild.

The timing sucks because I really believe that if he got to pick between Michigan and Bama that Deboer would be coaching Michigan. Following Harbaugh is shitty, but following Saban is lunacy. If it was me, I would throw a line out to Lanning and make him say no and post another cute video. Maybe Jedd Fisch since he has ties.

Give Sherrone 5 years. He has to at least perform to the Shaw post-harbaugh level to stay longer, and then you pray that there isn't a drop off like Shaw had after the first 6 years.

3 Big 10 championships, and what would likely be 4 playoff appearances would get the job done.

It is a high bar for sure but, coming off a 15-0 championship, it should be.

Herbert would net something like 4 firsts, 3 seconds, and 3 thirds

Then you trade him. He isn't Mahomes, Jackson, or Allen. I guess I am in the minority but to me Herbert may be fringe top 10 but not worth $270million dollars. That is eating so much of their cap.

If drafting JJ was his plan then he would have taken the Atlanta job. Herbert is a big reason he took the Chargers gig.

I don't think he was ever going to be offered the Atlanta job. That seems like its going to ole billy B.

Its Harbaugh, he wants his guy. Maybe if they trade Herbert for like the 10th pick they could get JJ later, but really feels like JJ is going to join Jimmy in LA.

So he's gonna draft JJ instead of keeping JH? Bro!

He is a weird dude. I don't think Herbert is that good, and their cap is fucked. Tear it down to the ground and build it back up. Acquire draft capital for Herbert and do what the lions did.

I would say the Odds of JJ going at pick 5 are pretty high. The biggest challenge will be getting someone to take Herbert's contract. I could see Harbaugh pushing for 5-6 Michigan players in this draft. That cap situation is fucked and JJ, Corum, Zinter, is a solid core 3 for him on offense. Late round picks of Roman Wilson and Michael Barrett and you have Ann Arbor west.

JJ going top 5, lol. Come on, ain't no way you can say that with a straight face.

  11. Man, seems like Michigan should have given him full immunity instead of the watered down “only for current investigations” version

They literally should have given him anything. Fuck it. It’s fake money. The school isn’t paying for any of it. Give him a title like his royal highness of the wolverines. Jim would have loved that.

Pisses me off so much that Michigan offered him what he wanted only after he was dotting his Ts and crossing his Is with the chargers.
  12. Buddy that loves Michigan is so frustrated.  He doesn't want Sherrone Moore -- he wanted DeBoer.
He still can't believe Kalen went to Bama.  He expects Michigan to be looking for another new coach in 2-3 years.

Yeah, I want to believe in Sherrone, but would much rather have had Deboer.

Maybe Harbaugh will have worn out his welcome in SD and he can come back for another bail out.
  13. I told myself I would be alright with it. And I do think Moore will succeed. But fuck.

I’m bummed. Thanks for the natty. I hope the chargers are the worst team in football for the next decade.

I guess it’s better than it happening last year with no championship. Bummed.

These were the revised terms he was offered today. Previously they had not been included.

    • Contract would make Harbaugh the highest paid coach in college football.
    • Elevator clauses to ensure Harbaugh remains the highest paid coach in college football
    • immunity from termination for two current NCAA investigations (this is similar to the provision in Bill self’s contract excerpted below)
