Good possibility they’re both somewhere else next season.
Thamel and Finebaum were pushing Deboer to Michigan, which seems like just a creation of a storyline for clicks.

Apparently this officiating crew has called the most PI penalties of any of the p5 conference crews on the year.
Michigan is the least penalized team in the p5, but I don't love hearing that about the crew.
That said, doesn't matter, play your part 3 stacks.

Thanks.
It's one reason I love F1. They literally show the clock moving to the top of the hour, and then the light turns green for the formation lap. All the pageantry and hype is before the time listed.
Don't get me wrong, I am going to be pumping some pageantry and hype all day long, but with a 2 and 1 year old I want to make sure I have them snug in their beds before the game actually kicks off.

I like them both. Feel like Michigan wins it just because they are the bigger football brand. #expertanalysis
Also, does anyone know the actual kick-off time? I don't want to sit through 42 minutes of BS analysis and hype. I want to turn it on as foot meets ball.
Its insane that they dont actually show the kickoff time. Like the networks just have to get their hooks in for a little longer.
To the best that I found out, coin toss is 745. Kick 747.

I don’t think Washington will have the same game plan. They are not going to build a game plan around the defending the pass. They are going to see a completely different game plan. I would assume they are going to sell out on the run and try to make Michigan pass the ball
That didn't work out too well for Ohio State last year. TCU had more success at throwing 8 guys into running lanes, but that was with Michigan down Corum.
I think Michigan's game plan is going to be grind it out on the run and try hit 10ish play action shots on downs where UW is thinking run. 3rd and 2 from around Midfield and whatnot.
If Michigan get get a couple stops or hold UW for FGs it is going to be over quickly. If UW gets an early lead or Michigan has another slow start, it could morph into a shootout ala TCU last year.

The ravens played Saturday. The entire staff including John Harbaugh and DC Mike McDonald flew to Houston after the game to help with game prep.
The ravens have a Bye next week so the players are off Monday-Tuesday.

Michigan runs the Ravens defense. It’s their chance to see how it fairs vs a high level college offense. I am really interested in seeing how it’s fares.
Not to mention the entire ravens staff flew in to help prep since they played yesterday and now have a bye.
Talk about a boon
Michigan implemented this defense when they brought McDonald in two years ago to stop Ohio states. (Best offense ever….. rawr) then he went right back to Baltimore as their DC and sent minter back as michigans DC. The D has been nasty since they changed from don “everyone is on an island 100% of the time” brown- 1

Michigan may throw less than 15 passes in this game. Corum is about Greg Jennings the shit out of this game and put the team on his back doe.
The defense built to stop Ohio state is going to help against the Washington passing attack. Make them go the length of the field, convert multiple 3rd downs, and try to make them settle for FGs.
Penix played out of his mind last week. Hopefully he doesn’t have another one in him tomorrow.
34-24 Michigan.

I guess JJ depends on how well he can read a defense without knowing their play beforehand.
He seemed to do alright against bama. 168 QBR against a pretty decent defense. No picks 3 touchdowns.

This is exactly why I think he has high bust potential. Accuracy and decision making skills are the two biggest things you need to be a successful NFL QB. If he struggles with that behind that line and that dominant running game then you have to be concerned how he will do at the next level.
I do reserve the right to change my mind. If Michigan falls behind by 2 or more scores early against Washington and he can lead a comeback then that will go a long way towards doing so.
If Michigan loses he needs to transfer to a place where he can air it out and develop as a passer. That isn't Michigan. Besides, Harbaugh is probably going to the NFL anyway so he won't be the only one.
FWIW I'm rotting for Michigan as they were my childhood favorite so don't think I'm hating on the guy.
I think his biggest problem is he knows he can thread the ball through the eye of a needle, so he just throws it. I don't think Harbaugh tries to rein that in at all he just tells JJ to rip it.
JJ has 22 TDs and 4 picks on the year. 3 of them came against Bowling Green when he was literally just playing backyard ball. So it isn't like he is some turnover machine, he just occasionally says "fuck it I can make this throw" when he should probably throw it away.

hot takes:
2. JJ McCarthy is going to get an NFL GM fired.
If JJ gets a GM fired, its because they took fucking Caleb Williams over him.
JJ has made some of the most insane throws I have seen any QB make. He definitely needs to clean up some decision making and not forcing throws. People who have only watched him in 2 games (TCU/Bama) are going to be in for a shock when 3 years from now he is the best QB in this class.
That said, if Michigan loses, he is coming back.

Did Michigan's DL still look slow to you? They seemed pretty quick to me.

Hopefully they get to run it back in 3 weeks. Will be a hell of a game.

As a Michigan fan having similar experiences the past two years, I know how all you Texas fans feel.
You guys had an amazing season. Won the conference, made it to the playoffs. You have a great group coming back next year and the future is bright.
Just don't make the playoffs again next year and lose to TCU.
Hook 'em.

I am still so fucking happy. Michigan played a pretty sloppy game, and though special team mistakes (where the hell did those come from they have been so good on special teams) cost them, it didn't kill them. Michigan (to me) clearly looked like the better team, so when they went down 20-13 I was sure they were snakebit, but they kept grinding.
I fucking love Blake Corum.
JJ makes some of the most incredible throws I have ever seen, but then also just tries to do to much at times and throws balls that shouldn't be thrown. (thank God for illegal touching).
This defense is filthy. Rotating 9 guys on the DL is such an advantage late in the game when they are all fresh, it helps the secondary so much when they don't have to cover for 5+ seconds.
If Michigan can clean up the special teams stuff, which they should be able to since it hasn't been a problem until yesterday, they should be able to beat Washington fairly comfortably.
Really wish it was a Texas/Michigan championship, although I am not the most popular person here, its still a pretty cool community and would have been a super fun matchup with you guys.

He was hired in mid September. Thamel is just trying to make it a thing by reporting it now -
Did you watch your own video? The guy gets pushed towards the runner by the block while the RB is stumbling. DTs need to be explosive and this dude takes 4-5 steps to really get going, even with a push start in the right direction from the OL. I’d hate to see how slow he would be if forced to change direction or accelerate on his own. USEFUL Speed for linemen is measured in the first few steps, not at the end of a 40 yard dash.
LOL.
The reason Michigan is the number one D in the country is their DL. Saying that their line is slow is like saying Texas has shitty DTs. It’s just not true. -
Milroe will make plays off schedule and convert multiple 3rd downs with his feet. They need to at least threaten to use him in the running game even if it’s a called handoff from a zone read look. Michigan’s front may be slow but they are tough in confined spaces and Bama needs every edge they can get in the running game
Milroe will also make some head scratcher throws. You have to hope they aren’t game changing. As with Texas, Bama has better athletes which creates the opportunity for a blowout. Michigan is well coached and tough but I’d like the matchup of slot receivers and RBs on the Wolverine LBs if I was a Tide fan.
Michigans front may be slow?
I swear the shit some of you say makes me wonder if you actually watch football. -
The giant shoulder patches are back. -
If Michigan doesn't hire a former Bama coach, they aren't trying hard enough.

Oakland is still in play!

If you're Harbough you're not signing an extension with Michigan period. Some decent jobs with some talented teams will be opening up.
Maybe this year your wish will come true. Unlikely, but you can keep hoping.

That seems like a gimme, even in a loss I think they throw for 300. If it is 500.... could be trouble.
