He's interviewing with national signing day on the horizon is no bueno for Michigan. In the past I'd say that his leaving would set them back for years but who knows in these crazy days of portal/NIL.

Signing day already happened. Once they moved it to two signing days, the February 1 became no big deal.

Last year he interviewed with the Vikings ON the Feb Signing day. It worked out alright.

Gibbs and Montgomery are a great duo in the Lion backfield -- glad Lions get another home game in the playoffs...

Coach Choice gets to watch one of his boys play another round of the NFL Playoffs !!!

It's that rare "both teams won the trade" situation.

The Rams got a super bowl. Case closed for them that is a win no matter what you gave up.

The Lions got a replacement QB (who is pretty damn close to stafford already) and a super solid foundation of players.

    Offensive Skill WR/TE/RB core

    Defensive line depth.

    Solid 3rd safety

Lions vs Texans Super Bowl. The two most tortured fan bases in the NFL finally reach the promised land. I’m pulling for y’all and I hope Lions fans are pulling for the Texans too.

One of my buddies (from here) is a UT & Texans fan, we were hoping for that Michigan/UT natty, but it would be awesome to see a Lions/Texans Super Bowl.

I feel like I always hear about how shitty the Texans' ownership is, but I am glad to see they have it on track. Imagine trading up to Pick Bryce Young over CJ.

    I hope he stays.

Fucker doesn't even take time to enjoy the title. And if you're a Michigan fan, this has to be killing some of your joy.

This is the part of CFB that is slowly turning me away.

Nah, he has earned it. He took michigan from the abyss and built the program back and got a natty. If he stays great, if not thanks for the turnaround.

I still think he will stay, just based on the fact I don't think NFL teams really want to deal with the weird side of harbaugh + the amount of money it would cost to get that weirdo.

Could you even handle the double championship this year? That is a lot of t-shirts & hats to buy. Is your entire wardrobe blue?

And don't get carried away quite yet - having 2 playoff wins in the last 66 years is not quite yet a dynasty; I mean there is a lot of shitory (anagrammed history) over all those years, but everyone keeps telling me this is the year, I hope they are right. FWIW, IMO the Packers could do the Leo's a big favor and win again next weekend.
    Go Honolulu Blue!

I am just enjoying the ride after how shitty the lions have been for so long. With the game at home next weekend, there is a legitimate shot that the lions are playing in the NFC championship game and that itself is absolutely wild.

Would love a rematch of the season opener if they shock the world and make a super bowl. The chiefs look more beatable to the lions than the ravens do. Just based on their games this year.

Goff's face reminds me of someone who's name & TV show I can't remember.

    It's a Boston'ish white guy in his 30's or so, who's a scammer.

But he's a nice guy.  A nice guy scammer.

Recent show made in the last 10 years or so.

Also that Antonio banderas looking mother fucker puka is good. First time I've seen him play live

Dude, he was insane. It's been awhile since I was repeatedly yelling "cover that fucker" at the tv. They didn't listen to me though.

May not be popular, but I think Penix won't make it to age 30 in the NFL unless he is lucky enough to end up on a team with an offense that gets the ball out quickly.

His throw and duck behavior against Michigan won't play in the NFL.  Add on top of that his injury history and he's a high risk to draft early. Penix should slide back into the 2nd Rd unless someone trades up late in 1st Rd to get a 5yr option contract.

DeBoer and Grubb maxed out his talent and it's likely the NFL will turn him into "Not For Long".

I think Penix is going to be a journeyman backup in the NFL. He will have enough talent to hang around for a few years as a developmental guy and his arm is good enough to make throws if forced into an emergency situation. I do not see him being a starter though.

I assume this means Harbough is gone @Juicy thoughts?

The rumor around here is that it is either the chargers or Michigan. I guess we will see if the chargers put their money where their mouth is. Harbaugh will make 15 mil a year with Michigan if he does any of the following (beat O$U, Win the b1g or make the playoffs. So the Chargers are going to have to pay at least that to get him to make the move.

Will chargers ownership pay 15 mil a year? Or will they take the cheap coordinator route and pay 5 mil a year.

We're gonna need a better package than that.

Cade is an alright player but I feel like this is another year that the pistons are going to win the lottery and then get a meh player.

I guess having the pick of all the meh players is better than dropping to 5th or 7th like they have been doing

It was against the pistons though. Doesn't count.

First time I watched a game since the opener. Wemby is fucking insane. I would literally give up Cade, Ausar, Ivey and Duren for him, and the next 2 first round picks. Fuck it, I would give up the entire pistons team for him and every draft pick til 2030.

Its simple.  The top 4 champs get the byes.  Everyone else plays the first round.

I haven't heard specific discussion on whether the top 4 champs are seeded 1 to 4 or if they simply get the bye.  I suspect they are 1-4.  The fourth, regardless of whether they are ranked #4 or #14, will still get the toughest 1st round winner  in the 2nd round.

yeah I guess that is the saving grace for the 12-1 conference runner up who crushed everyone but lost in their CCG. They will get any fluke champs in the second round, after their 5/12 matchup.

The more I think about it, the more I don't love going to 12 teams. There is going to be some years where there are like 3 teams that have no business being in the playoffs and they are going to force matchups for the top teams to play well before the semi finals.

I mean this year, Liberty obviously, but also Penn State would have been absolutely smoked in the playoffs. Ole Miss is a decent team, but come on. Same with Mizzou. 8 would have been plenty

someone asking for "the nicest hotel in AA or Detroit" doesn't give a shit about riding in an Uber Black XL at 6 in the morning still drunk to get to the surly tailgate. lol

also - I may actually hire coaches to drive people from Detroit to AA to arrive by 8AM at the tailgate once I confirm location etc with RevelXP.

Fair enough, but also. The nicest hotel in AA or Detroit is also not the nicest hotel in LA or NY haha. $600-700 a night is a lot different than $2500 a night.

If you want to have the coach swing out to White Lake and scoop me on the way I will take a the lumps and shit talking you guys can give.

  14. I am probably still deep in the feels after Monday, but wanted to share this. It is really well done, and starts with a highlight that most of you around here will enjoy. (bet you can't guess what it is haha)

A good way to spend 23 minutes. It gets a little busy at the end with all the different audio coming through, but damn if college football isn't great.

I wanted to share this because, well, it’s cool and bittersweet at the same time. I used to post years ago on a football board for high school football. Two of the posters from that board were fans of teams in the same division. They eventually met and married. I would not have known about what has happened to the husband had I not accidentally opened my Facebook (Haven’t used it in almost 7 years, but I didn’t delete it.). The husband is originally from Michigan and I saw a post where he wanted tickets to see the title game because he’s at MD Anderson and has both brain and lung cancer and he’s terminal now. He and his wife were given the money for tickets to the game. The title game will be his final time seeing his Wolverines play. I was happy for him to get to see one last win. Cancer sucks, but it hasn’t taken away his ability to enjoy his family and the sport he loves.

I guess I share this because our lives are so short and we do not know when the end will come. Get out and do what you can while you can. Make memories that those you will leave behind one day can remember fondly.

Damn, that is deep. Glad that he got to see them win it all though.

Conference champions get an automatic bid, but are not guaranteed a bye. At least one conference champion will not get a bye each year given the number of conferences. Also, at-large selections could be among the top 4 seeds, which we saw with TCU last year (under a very different setup, but still...). So seeding will probably matter enough to keep teams from sitting their starters. Or at least enough that it is a rare occurrence.

I imagine that the pac2 is not going to get a bye next year.

I thought the top 4 was the top 4 conf champions? Meaning they couldn't put 3 SEC teams in the top 4 on years where they have a ton of depth.

What is the nicest hotel in Ann Arbor or Detroit?  Trying to make plans.  Thanks.

Coming in from Detroit traffic is going to be a bitch going to the game. 94 has a bottle neck right before the stadium exit where 23 also joins the party. So I would recommend staying in Ann Arbor if you have the option.

This is probably the best option but would book it now as every time I have checked it has been sold out. Literally on Campus so you can walk to everything once you are there.

I have never stayed at either of these places, but I have eaten at Weber's a handful of times and it has been great every time.
