Sounds like Michigan wishcasting from their insiders.

After all the smoke yesterday about his second interview, and his family being in LA with him, I said if he comes back to Michigan without a contact in place with the Chargers, I think he stays.

He is back in the building. If the Chargers really wanted him, he would be their coach today. If it was a flake on their part by deciding that maybe Crazy Jimmy isn't their guy, or if it was a flake on Harbaugh by him saying, I won't work for any of these people only these people (hands a list) we may never know.

Jimmy isn't some up and coming coordinator, you don't need a 3rd interview with him if you know he is your guy, also if you know he is your guy, you don't let him leave the building without hammering out that contract.

Could he still go to LA? Yeah for sure. But I feel a heck of a lot better about him staying today than I did for the past few weeks.

  2. Looks like he is staying.

Michigan going to make him the highest paid coach by an enormous amount, also giving him a clause that he can not be fired for cause for the current ncaa investigations.

Unable to come to terms with the chargers on who Harbaugh would directly report to.

Back in Ann Arbor today and reportedly telling staff get your passports ready for the spring trip.

You don't think he comes home to tell the team, or does he just call Warde and say AMF (or call Santa and say ONO)

He will come back and tell the team for sure, but unfortunately with the way NFL reporters are these days someone will leak it if they finalize a deal.

  4. Im not going to lie, if Michigan wins the natty and a month later the Lions win the super bowl, I am going to quit watching sports. There could never be anything to top that. Just hang em up and go out on top as a fan.

I told my wife that the natty is going to make me so much calmer for Michigan games in the future because they got to the mountaintop. Someplace i never thought they would reach again. A natty as a kid, and now a natty as an adult. Im good.

  5. I never thought the lions would be playing for a chance to go to the super bowl.

The 9ers are going to be tough though. The lions play that bend don't break defense and the 9ers just have so many weapons to attack with in the Red Zone.

Hell of a season, would love for them to be able to pull this one out and get to play in 2 weeks.

  6. I believe you can buy the real thing. I think (not 100% sure) that rings couldn't be over a certain modest amount (something like $350?) since they were a gift. So they are essentially like a class ring instead of having diamonds, etc.

    This is correct.

According to NCAA rules, the National Championship rings cannot exceed $415 in value

You can get an exact copy it just will say wolverines in the place reserved for the players name.

As weird as this sounds the BWWs in Ann Arbor has been selling 1997 rings for as long as I have worked in Ann Arbor. 10ish years.

They just have them at the counter. I think they are $400 so probably what the cost was back in the day.
  7. I think Warde is gone within the year even if Harbaugh goes. They need to get a new AD in to figure out NIL and make coaching moves. Michigan has been a mess these past few years.

Lost coach that took the team to the college WS. Went to Clemson.

Lost Hockey coach who went to 3 frozen 4s in 5 years due to scandal.

Football team investigations, unable to lock harbaugh in long term.

What ever the fuck is going on with the basketball team.

Need someone to come in and right the ship

I would like this to be wrong. Maybe jumped the gun on this through the game of telephone. I don't care if he flirts with the NFL every year if the on-field results are fine.

If Jim is scraping the bottom of the barrel with the Falcons and moving toward giving up control in his various negotiations, he probably gone.

Diminished credibility aside, it sounds like Spanos wants to keep all of his sons, nephews, etc. in positions of power with the Chargers and it's been a point of contention not just with Jim, but with other coaches.

I know its all just 9.95 bullshit, but hearing lots of similar shit on those sites. The chargers will give him a blank check, but not the player personnel, and organizational control that he desires.

The falcons are going Beli 100%. I can't see that going any other way. So it is basically the Chargers or Michigan. It is kind of crazy that the NFL doesn't seem that interested in Harbaugh, a few teams have kicked the tires but aside from the chargers it doesn't seem like he has been a legitimate candidate for any of these jobs he was linked to. Broncos/Vikings/Panthers

Hey, Detroit has never lost a Super Bowl.

Just sayin - @Juicy can verify

Absofuckinglutely. I feel like I am in Bizarro world right now in terms of Football. I know beating SF isn't going to be easy, but just to play in the damn super bowl would be incredible. After the asswhooping that Baltimore put on the lions earlier this year, I really don't think the lions can beat them. So as much as it makes me puke..... Go Chiefs.

15-0. Lost out #1 player and captain best o lineman. Ran the fuck over bama and crushed Washington. #1 defense in the country and only gave up 13 points to penix. Our d line almost killed him. They won the best offensive line award. Watch penix walking off the field that night. No one could fuck with us and we proved it. When I say ultimate team I don’t mean like 2005 Texas talent but just a bunch of fucking dogs willing to play for each other. Admittedly not the best national championship team but a they won it and I’m proud

They may not be the ULTIMATE team but they were the ultimate TEAM. UGA has had some insane defenses recently, but I would put this years Michigan D up against any of them. To hold Washington's offense to 13 points was incredible.

I can only hope that football mimics basketball in that the one and dones are flashy but to win a championship you need that veteran team. A team loaded with 4th-5th (and in Michigan's case this year 6th) year players, who have had development can contend with the UGA/Bama/O$U/Texas recruiting rankings due to development and player age.

Are there some 18 year olds who can ball out? Absolutely, but does a 22-23 year old have a physical advantage over 99% of 18 year olds, especially with 4 years in a major strength and conditioning program, absolutely.

  11. Ravens are the only team I think the Lions have zero chance of beating if they were to make it to the Super Bowl (Not sure they can beat San Fran to get there through).

    So goooooooo Texans.

I think its going to be a championship weekend with  9ers/Lions and Ravens/Bills.

I think KC is better than Buffalo but eventually Buffalo has to win one.... right?

NFL teams seem to be going slower in the hiring process this year aside from the Patriots who had their guy picked internally.

I feel like the NFL has some weird rule that coaches from teams in the playoffs can't actually interview until the week between the championship games and the super bowl. I could be wrong, on that though.

this is kind of bullshit on the part of Jim and he is starting to look like a bigger asshole than usual

Michigan paid him a shit load of money to kind of chug along and "win some games" while making sure to lose to tOUS plus MSU, or Iowa, or ND, or Wisconsin in the same season and to take a bowl L and finally they were pissed off enough to call him on his bullshit, but did not fire him and reworked his contract so he actually has some incentives and hey fuck what do you know IT WORKED

and now he is back acting like he needs to get retribution for all of that and that they should have just rode that out and handed him an extension going down the same path and not even thought of firing him because "well you know we will win it all eventually" vs sitting down with him and not firing him and incentivizing him and EXTENDING him

I am sure he thinks his shit does not stink and if Michigan had fired him he would have landed some other top job or would have easily gone back to the NFL for a good team and maybe he would have, but he also could have ended up at some shittier situation with a short leash because people knew his shit smelled a little and if he could not get it done at Michigan then no need to act like he walks on water

now he is just dragging the bullshit out.....much less all the little infractions and the attitude of "fuck the NCAA let the university deal with it I am busy".....which is all fine and good if people want to hate on the NCAA (which is run by the universities), but it is still shit that Michigan has to clean up of his and an example of if you have him around you have to put up with his bullshit even if he is not winning it all and losing to the teams his school most wants to beat

he was not kicked in the head enough as a kid or something he is just not right

I don't think he is dragging it out as much as this is just the timing of it all. Michigan won the natty a week ago. NFL teams are looking for coaches, its going to take a week or two with people waiting to talk with teams that are still in the playoffs.

I still think it comes down to chargers or Michigan. If Michigan agrees to pay him for a year vacation on the off case the NCAA suspends him for burger gate he will be back in Michigan, if they are going to try and nickel and dime a guy that just went 15-0 they are going to meet resistance and push him to the NFL.

I want him back 100%. But I have made my peace with it if he goes. National championships are few and far between. Michigan got one, I will likely always be a fanatic about Michigan football, but I feel like my angsts has waned and that everything for the next 10 years is gravy. Beat Ohio state more often than not, win some more B1G championships, make a few playoff runs. Not every season ends in a natty, it didn't for Bama's super teams, it won't for Michigan either.

At least Goff has been to a super bowl. The Cowboys are probably gonna give Dak $60/per.

QB contracts are fucking insanity. There is no middle class it seems. It's either we aren't gonna pay you at all/we're only gonna use the franchise tag, or you had a really good season and now you somehow deserve more money than the Mahomes/Allen/Burrow tier of QBs.

Fuck that. What's wrong with telling a guy like Dak/Goff/Tua that they aren't that good and they need to take less money/be paid in the proper tier of QB ability? Incentivize big bonuses for deep playoff runs/good playoff performance.

the players association should be behind it too. It would leave that much more money for the rest of the guys to get paid.

    Daniel Jones 40Mil/

    Kyler 46mil/ (holy shit)

    Rus 49mil/

Its crazy that these guys (rus I guess did something so he got paid for past performance but daniel fucking jones and kyler) are getting paid 40+ mil a year and are bottom 10 QBs in the league. WTF?

Contract pay should be performance based.  Fuck guaranteed money.

I think the Watson deal may kill the guaranteed money deals.

He legit may quiet quit and just take all that money in order to not play football. No team is going to want to take that risk again if Watson doesn't come back for week 1 next year.

Yeah I saw what Geno got.  He likely gets 20-25 a year and 40-50 guaranteed.  On low end. It’s good to be a QB.  Still not baseball or NBA dough but damn…

Its crazy. The lions are expected to offer goff 4 years 175 mil. Like I like goff a lot but he isnt a 47 million a year QB IMO. That should be reserved for Mahomes and pretty much no one else. Purdy is going to end up getting absolutely PAID in 2 years.

Also, be mindful of taking what JUB says as gospel. He's a good guy. Our kids are at the same small elementary  school BUT ... just like Sam Webb, he's sometimes only fed part of the story and can be used as a mouthpiece to advance certain camps' agenda.

Seems like JUB is usually Jimmy's mouthpiece. He obviously wants to get out Jim's side because to all these fans they couldn't care less about a morality clause. Stephen Ross can pay the contract off if Michigan is forced to Fire Harbaugh (Don't see it happening) by the NCAA.

Even if Burgergate leads to a year long suspension, which would be excessive, it is worth it IMO to lock harbaugh up for the rest of his career. If he is out for a year, it would give him a year to recharge, and the continuity would be there. Plus it would give Sherrone a full year of running the program experience for whenever he gets his shot.

Tampa will get run next week but Baker made himself another 20M ish this year.  Hate to see it.

I think its probably closer to 60M that he made this year. He will get 3 years @ 20 from someone. Probably Tampa but someone is going to pay him.
