  1. On the mask issue, I ordered HEPA vacuum bags and took a razor to them to cut them into squares large enough to cover the nose and mouth. Tape into the inside of a balaclava, go on the grocery run, come home, take mask out of balaclava, toss in outside trash, drop balaclava into hot soapy water. At a clip of once a week, I have a year's supply through that method.
  2. I bet it does. Permian players who are lobbying the RRC for cuts are likely lobbying DC for cuts, at as well. Maybe we'll replace OPEC+ with Super OPEC++ that includes the US.
  3. Actually, yes. Just started trading full time with the free time that I now have. If it weren't for my SPY puts and my stupid AAL purchase, I would be at 19% returns. Currently at 3% returns over a week and a half. Most of those returns were from shorting Oneok after they had their 11% jump last week. Just from what I know about that company, I knew it was fool's gold. Bought a $23 put for cheap and it returned $956 in just 2 days.
  4. I bought American Airlines at $16 two weeks ago thinking that the bailout news would boost them. Apparently, the airlines are immune to the sunshine pumping.
  5. I have a short in D.R. Horton. 10 million people lost their jobs and mortgages are struggling due to Fed interference blowing up their ability to originate and service new loans and a home builder's stock goes UP? Madness.
  6. That's a light-ass sentence for someone with his priors.
  7. With that line of thinking, I bought a 1 May 20 20 call for Synchrony. Two reason, one being that Synchrony has been digging into the small business sector and small businesses will be taking out loans with them, and two being that the stimulus money is going to be dumped into bills with Synchrony accounts being one of them. Their earnings call on April 21 will let me know if it was a good bet or not.
  8. I think people just haven't capitulated, yet. There are a bunch of earnings calls going out on April 24 that might do the trick, though.
  9. Can't give specifics in order to protect the client, but I was on the land side of things. The first domino to fall, always. Thanks for all the well wishes. As I mentioned, instead of using this "boom" to chase the dollar, I used this one to dump money into preparing for a future career elsewhere, if necessary. It's nerve wracking, but all I can do is remind myself that this was "priced in" when I signed back on. Good luck and God speed to the rest of you.
  10. I already did a career "hedge" so to speak that will kick-off next year, so this will probably be my last rodeo at this level. If I can come back in a different capacity, the price is always right, but I won't be exclusively oil and gas ever again, if I can help it.
  11. Today was my last day, boys. See you next boom.
  12. Down is up in energy today. I seem to remember something like this happening in 2016 and it ended in a bloodbath.
  13. I have exactly 1 CVX put at 65 on Apr 3. Oil price movement today should have made it a winner, but here I am.
  14. Also, take a look at Coca-Cola. It is at a 4 year low, right now, and was trading flat for a good while before COVID came in. They lost the restaurants and bars, so it will like climb back up as soon as the restrictions are lifted.
  15. I read the list of essentials and my specific job isn't covered by that, but I knew any E&P company would see the header "Oil and Gas Industry" and take that as the green light for everyone. I work from home and have been working this whole time (thank God), but it will make little difference in a week or so. We're all sitting on our ass by April, IMO
  16. Every call from my boss is expected, at this point. I've been here before, though. Twice. Bosses name pops up on the phone, that's it. Boss called two weeks ago and I thought that was it, but it was good news. Next time, I'm sure it's the call.
  17. We're a week into social distancing and this thread is starting to tear itself apart. Seems about right.
  18. Almost sounds like a scam. Back when things were hot and heavy with oil in 2012-13, companies working in North Dakota during the winter would offer people $1,000 a day, 7 days a week, to do title work. Billing for that job is usually 4 -6 weeks out, so they'd let you bill 6 weeks worth of work, then cut you and send you home and then fight tooth and nail to not pay you.
  19. I already worked from home mostly and my wife was stay-at-home, so we're actually both pretty miserable being stuck at home with a 5 year old and a 2 year old. It's more of the same, but amplified because we can't get the kids out of the house. Everyone is slowly going stir crazy. The wife kept the kids pretty active with martial arts, going to the park, the gym daycare, and play dates. We are running out of craft supplies and I guess every family out there is because Amazon has almost everything on back order.
  20. I bet he had that GameStop motivation. Stay open or go under in less than a month.
  21. I've been using Samsung Pay for this reason. Still have to touch the pad to finish it, but I try to stay super conscious about not touching my face until I can wash my hands and sanitize.
  22. Yeah, all but the most expensive olive oils were gone. Cooking spray still fully stocked. Pancake mix was all gone. Rice was there. Dry beans were there. Fresh chicken was gone except for fajitas. Beef was there. Sausages were there, bacon was there. Plenty of hot dogs, hot dog buns. Tons of frozen pizza. Tons of Blue Bell and nothing left of Creamy Creations and other brands. Got a kick out of that... I mean, I get it. My wife was a nutritionist before staying home with the kids. I told her to accept what came home with me because that's what is available and keep her comments to herself. She almost started an argument when she felt the need to point out the sodium content of ramen. Sorry, but there weren't any whole wheat noodles or brown rice or almond milk on the shelves. A lot of this food isn't what we want to eat, right now, but we need to eat and the stress of finding "good" food far outweighs the negatives of what's on the shelves, in moderation. We're in a new reality for the foreseeable future. Adapt.
