  1. This reminds me of a Star Trek question that a lot of people ask: "Why not just go warp 9.9 all the time?" Iron Man and Thor are powerful, but not endless tanks of energy. You're essentially asking why don't they just "redline" it from opening crawl to end credits. As for Hulk, the writers admitted that Hulk presents the Superman problem where if you write him with the full extent of his abilities, there's no conflict and no danger. They purposefully took him out of Infinity War for that reason, then introduced Prof. Hulk to prevent it from being a question in End Game.
  2. Look at CHK this morning. Another short squeeze?
  3. I took all my profits today. I'm sure I'll wince come this time in July about what could have been, but make hay while the sun shines. Losses hurt more than unrealized gains.
  4. My own personal experience with that is that the guidance extending the timeline came out well after the second round came out. I had already set my payroll based on the guidance and it had been in place for two pay cycles already. Just my experience, though.
  5. I know the area very well. Had friends that lived around the corner from that house who would have had to evacuate. Glad they moved a couple years ago. Extremely sad. Just from what I was told, that neighborhood had started seeing a decent influx of military moving in. Very nice neighborhood.
  6. I think we have a chance to go higher. We may have gone negative and popped back up in record time, but rigs are still stacked and I haven't gotten any phone calls. Compared to the end of 2015, early 2016, I was getting phone calls asking to fire back up 3 months after we bottomed out in the 20s. In 2012 (I think) when it dropped all the way down to $80 (the horror!) in the second big dip after 2010, I was getting phone calls the next week. Land is the first thing to fire up, so the phone calls asking about availability, for me at least, were the indicator that projects were ready to run.
  7. One major point that I heard brought up about this employment number is that it probably reflects the PPP loans taking effect. End of July through August is when those funds are out. Those employment numbers will be the real test. Might be wise to get some straddles for that time period.
  8. I think Trump makes it even easier for Republicans by publicly blaming the Republicans and the people for not re-electing him. He'll finally lash out at the constituents he had to pretend to love for 6 years.
  9. Trump is a draft dodger whose family paid a doctor to get him out of the service with a bone spurs diagnosis. And he not only shits on General Mattis, who is a highly revered Marine who served in the Gulf War, Afghanistan, and the Iraq War and has military decorations that REQUIRE being in combat, including a Bronze Star with a Combat V, he takes it a step further and claims that he gave him the Mad Dog nickname, a nickname Mattis actually received from his fellow Marines over a decade ago. Marines defend their culture zealously. I can't see how he has any support left in the USMC after tonight. Also, lest we forget, Trump also shit on Admiral McRaven. Trump might as well cover all his bases and throw General Clarke and General Goldfein under the bus. Hell, talk shit about Audie Murphy, too. That'll show the military who's boss...
  10. There was still 15 - 20 minutes left until curfew was active. That means nobody there was breaking the law, yet. Authoritarian types like to focus on that word. "Yet." They weren't law breakers now, but they're about to be. Therefore, they deserve everything that is about to happen to them. Presumed guilt goes against everything that this country was founded on and has no place in our society. I'm sure a lot of us here grew up in a house where the parents didn't wait until we officially broke a rule and went ahead and punished us before the fact. Curfew is a perfect example. Be home by 10:30, found out we are 10 minutes away at 10:25, and they punish you over the phone. That's fine for a household, but due to the immense harm a "punishment before crime" standard would have on society, it cannot be tolerated. Icono is avid fan of dictators, extreme uses of force, and heavy handed governing. He has openly admitted this several times through his now decade long existence in this community. So I already know what his response to my post will be.
  11. Other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?
  12. Wait, is he actually walking there?
  13. Was watching live. Police moved in on a peaceful protest without any provocation. All protestors were still, behind a metal barricade, with their hands in the air.
  14. I had a put on LUV at 30. I pocketed a $30 profit on Friday and ran.
  15. You're onto something here...
  16. I wonder if the armed guys who were guarding the cenotaph today knew that the cenotaph honored the Texans AND Tejanos that died for the Republic at the Alamo.
  17. Missed liftoff because CNN couldn't get it's shit together.
  18. I did a quick search in my old stomping grounds to see how many drilling permits were issued from March until this last Tuesday. A grand total of four in a very active East Texas County. 3 from late March to mid-April, then 30 days of 0 until 1 on May 22. The one in May wasn't even my old company. Some small company I'd never heard of.
  19. Name one thing the Romans ever did for us...
  20. Most brokers auto exercise unless the person contacts them and tells them not to. And someone might know for sure, but I think sometimes exercised options don't show up until settlement date, so around 2 business days.
  21. I think Yugoslavia broke apart due to the decline of Soviet power leading to the socialist/communist government getting ousted. Since Yugoslavia was cobbled together by a handful of countries less than a generation before that, the split kind of put things back to where they were before WW2. A split of the United States will require a mass migration of people, in my opinion. Just look at the Senate race map of each state at the county level and you will see that our situation now is more of an urban/rural split in the light red, light blue, and purple states. You have your states that would definitely be on board one way or the other, but how in the world could a state like Texas make a split one way or another without an exodus of the people who didn't agree?
  22. Citi and WFC have the largest exposure to this. I've got Citi puts, but I'm afraid they're not far out enough. Will probably have to roll them.
  23. This whole situation over the past couple of months has really set the stage for various people to show their ass. Friendships torn, respect lost, fracturing of families, and businesses who will no longer get my money.
