  1. I like a tough, mean, brawling Texas squad. It's time to intimidate.
  2. A 4.61 40-yard dash plenty fast. Nice DB. Welcome Jerrin Thompson.
  3. Isn't CTJ considered to be a "tweener" - a step slow for S/NB and a bit light for OLB/R? With Pouncey having CB speed and standing something like 6'2", couldn't Pouncey, if need be, fill the role envisioned for CTJ? And with likely better results than CTJ? I just looked. Pouncey is 6'1"" and only 160. Too light for OLB/R. Frame to add weight but too light today.
  4. Now that we verballed CB Pouncey and appear to lead with Jerrin Thompson, does it matter that we lost the other Thompson to Auburn and may lose Alford to aggy?
  5. Well, if close losses count as "wins" in Alford's thinking, then he ought to love a 13-1 Texas, lol.
  6. Yeah, I think his dad was late 80s or so at BU. I think the McWilliams regime was at Texas in his dad's day. I really wanted his dad to come to Texas back in the day, but I don't think we recruited him, although he made some lists. Dad started for BU for a year or two and he might have played on the BU squad that kicked out butt 49-0 at DKR? (That was traumatic, lol.) There are some Crownovers that graduated from Texas, though, although none played football, at least the one I know well didn't play. Time for a football playing Crownover at Texas, lol, I hope. Anyway, it's still early so we'll see.
  7. Jordan Pouncey. Great verbal and welcome to Texas!
  8. Well, hell, I say we need to offer Crownover since it's time for another Crownover to graduate from Texas, lol.
  9. That's a classic recruiting line from Brennan Eagles, lol, and it bears recalling from time-to-time. It puts me in mind of Super Bill Bradley's comment when asked at the coin flip in the '68 Texas v. aggy game to call heads or tails and Bradley said, "It don't make a shit", lol. What's not so funny about the Bradley line is that I remember when he made that comment, lol 😂.
  10. Didn't Eagles say something like, "I don't want no damned TCU", or some such, lol?
  11. CTJ - all the best. This whiff just isn't going to bring down my recruiting high. Too many studs on board. Too many studs left that will board. For example, are we sure Ringo will eat peaches?
  12. Lest we forget Dorbah running free and slamming the QB after all those big DLs occupy the OLs.
  13. Milroe appears to be a helluva leader. Persuasive, too. Texas is not that far away from playoff caliber and Milroe is accelerating the transformation.
  14. No. This is not the forum you are looking for. Move along.
  15. Welcome aboard, Billy. I gotta admit - recruiting is going at jet speed, lol. It's a struggle keeping up with 2 classes. It's a struggle, but it's a good struggle, lol. We have plenty of time to watch Billy develop in high school. Goodness.
  16. Stud QB early in a class portends an excellent recruiting year. Good to see a confident, articulate Milroe running the burnt orange.
  17. I remember when Texas took Michael Huff and he turned out to be pretty good, lol. I love that Texas is filling the D. Dorbah, Broughton, and now Fillinger. Feels good.
  18. First thing I saw on the board today was Dorbah. Hell yeah! Dorbah can play. Great verbal. Welcome, Prince.
  19. Shirt him all year except for the last 4 games if he's ready to play. If two of those last 4 games are post-season so much the better. This assumes he's "better" than the guy ahead of him. IL cohesion is a big deal.
  20. Don't worry. If he violated the 10-day grace period, he has to pay the $25 late fee. Anybody know if Dorbah,'s plans are still go for this weekend? We need Dorbah when we make our run.
  21. Dewberry is impressive. I hope he comes to the spring game and I hope we offer. The kid can play.
  22. Am I correct that Dorbah won that particular play against Brockermeyer upthread?
