  1. I’m not sure what you guys are on about with Garfield - he hasn’t been on tv (not counting ru paul/snl) in a decade and his filmography looks like this -

Tick Tick Boom is supposed to be good but it’s a Netflix movie about a musical. Spider Man is Spider Man but (and I haven’t seen it) that was more like a cameo, right? Doing a limited dramatic TV series based on a Krakauer book seems about right.

Garfield has been killing it. Tick Tick Boom is about the Rent guy Jonathan Larson and it’s way better than I expected. He was great in the Tammy Faye thing as well. Agree that he’s not prolific, but I like what he’s done.

  2. Places in the Heart currently on TCM.  An excellent movie, well acted all around.

Was really good friends with the girl that played Possum at SFA. She was in a couple other things, most notably young Holly Hunter in Broadcast News.

  3. I think my favorite thing about this series is that I’m excited as hell for season 2 and we haven’t even touched on what the f the company does or what they are doing there for work. So many compelling plot points.

  4. If Margaret would have let her continue to wear the vest…..

The lukewarm posts on here disarmed me for that finale. Christ. I’m glad I was alone. I think I’ll go pick up my daughter from school today.

  5. What??? How many 18 year olds do you know with these ridiculously deep views on life and their surroundings?

I think the narration is one of the better parts of the show, at least up until this episode.

  6. Great movie. Captures a glimpse of what it's like in a dedicated military town.  Some things are great, some things are predatory.
Thought LG,Jr did a fantastic job.

We went to visit my buddy back in 2000 when he graduated from flight school in Pensacola and he had a girl out there that was obsessed with him, wanting to marry a pilot. One night the entire group of us took him out to a bar to celebrate and starting singing that song at the top of our lungs, knowing she was about to get the AOAAG treatment. It went over her head but was hilarious at the time. Unfortunately a few months after he moved back to Texas she offed herself. We never knew if it was over him or not, but it’s not something we talk about much.

Another random note regarding AOAAG - The Office episode where Dwight goes to work at Staples and Michael goes to get him at the end, that song is on playing in the store.

  7. Rewatched Triangle this weekend. 4th time of watching it. Still as trippy as the first viewing.

There are some really great articles out there about this movie - the connections to Greek Mythology, all the hidden meanings and symbols throughout the movie, etc. I highly recommend doing a Google search and reading some of this stuff, you will no doubt find some stuff you didn’t catch. Obviously you’ve seen it 4 times, you are as intrigued by it as I was.

I think one of the coolest things about the movie is that even though it can be extremely deep and complex, it doesn’t do it in a pretentious way, it’s just a good horror flick at face value.

  8. If you don’t like Rip and Beth then this might not be the show for you.

    Exactly.

Hey - I’m on season 4 of this Mad Men show and this Don Draper character has to go.

  9. A Fish Called Wanda is an all time classic for me. 12 year old Wutang had a major thing for Jamie Lee after this and seeing Trading Places numerous times on cable.

Is it possible for Kevin Kline to be underrated? In & Out holds up as well.

  11. “My Name” is the next Korean series to explode. On episode 3 and it’s very very good. Nothing we haven’t seen before, but all the elements that are there are the ones we typically love. Can’t throw out examples without giving the twist away.
