  1. I understand why he is upset but as you pointed out they are screwed long term. COVID is just speeding up the death of their business.
We rented Trolls for $20 a couple weeks ago, If you factor in food and drink we probably saved $738 by not going to a movie theater and was still enjoyable at home. (The movie was average and my math might be off on the savings of not having to buy popcorn, drinks and candy at the theater)

I’ll gladly overpay for snacks and drinks and anything else for the option of going to the theater to see a movie.

  2. One of the craziest things to me is that Rodman went to South Oak Cliff High and never played a minute of high school basketball. Who grows nearly a foot after they graduated high school?!?! I’d like to see more detail about him working as a janitor at DFW growing nearly a foot and how he ended up playing ball in Oklahoma. I know he was adopted (basically) by a family in Oklahoma, a family in the excavation business. That’s how the Rodman Excavation in Dallas came to be.

  3. I'm not really sure WTF I just watched.

In a good or bad way? That’s kind of how I felt the first time I watched it. Would love to hear your thoughts - on here or shoot me a PM. I can tell you a couple things that might clear it up a bit.

  4. The Wailing is a masterpiece. I saw it when it first came out and I don’t think I completely “got it”. After reading about how great it was several times I gave it another shot. My daughter and I are on an Asian Horror kick and we knocked it our last night. Completely held out attention for the full 2.5 hours and never lets up. One of the few horror movies that really nails the ending as well. Can’t recommend enough.

We have watched over 40 horror movies this year. Maybe I should start a horror movie thread?

  5. Watching a film dubbed is against the rules in this household. I can’t remember ever having a good experience with it. I prefer to watch the movie the way it was intended, with the actors accents and inflections. We watch a lot of foreign films - especially horror - so maybe I’ve just gotten used to subtitles. I leave subs on for english shows a lot too now with all the mumbling.

I know the technology for dubbing is getting better and better so maybe I will give it a chance one day.

  6. I'm midway through S2 now and I agree with this.  You don't realize how likable everyone is unless you stop and think about it. It's a fine line they walk with that concept and it's probably why it works way better than it should.

Every season is better than the last imo.

  7. On the podcast, that producer in the cowboy hat claimed that it wasn’t really Joe Exotic singing on those songs. The produced songs were fake. Seems that may have been debunked? They didn’t mention it on the show and sounded like he had a decent voice when he sang live.

  8. I watched it yesterday. Donald Sutherland’s character was a bit cartoonish.

I watched a doc on Chicago (the band). It mirrors the real life arc of the band to an ironic degree. It was great at the beginning, it was pretty good right up until Terry Kath died, and once it became the Peter Cetera show, I turned it off. Just like I do when one of his ballads comes on the radio.

Also, it confirmed two things I’ve always believed. Terry Kath is the most underrated guitarist in rock history and Peter Cetera sucks total ass.

Mentioned this in the other thread. Dustin Hoffman is badly casted in my opinion. Doesn’t fit.
