Just finished my third time through the series.
My God, Rust's story in the wheelchair outside the hospital, about the darkness and his daughter and father... Got a lump in my throat, watery eyes. That may have been MM's finest moment as an actor, and he's had some incredible moments.
I honestly have no idea what's the basis for anyone's dissatisfaction with the ending. Rust was sounding like a nutjob conspiracy theorist with his suspicion that there was a cabal of murderous pedophiles in high ranking positions in Louisiana, and of course we learned he's 100% correct. Grandpa Tuttle created who knows how many monsters abusing his own children and (bastard) grandchildren, and somehow managed to meet up with some like-minded psychopathic pedophiles, some of whom we saw in the Marie Fontenot video.
Rust gets vindicated by a story that goes national, and Errol Childress gets his head blown off.
If the Yellow King/Carcosa stuff is what you're talking about, I can't imagine what you were expecting/hoping for. That was obviously the mythology of the freaks behind the serial child rapes/murders, and really, what else could it've been. I can't figure what you were hoping to learn or see.
I thought the ending was powerful and wholly satisfactory, which doesn't happen often.
WTF man. Spoiler that shit! Now I've got no reason to watch.

Question for ya'll (purely hypothetical):
Your 13 year old kid has been invited by his best friend's family to the Caribbean with them over spring break (including both weekends). You trust your kid, and know well and trust the family.
Let 'em go? Or out of country for more than a week past your comfort zone?

What if they’re paid by a 501(c)(4) and most of what they blog about isn’t political?
As I understand it, they would only have to declare on months that a political post (specifically about an elected official) is published.
I'm not sure though, and -true to form- I doubt it's been thought through I do think that it's smaller in scope than a lot of people will recognize. But it's a very very bad idea and the slippiest of slopes.
-
It's in the OP, and it doesn't change the overall absurdity and jackassery of the bill, but I think it's worth emphasizing that this would apply only to bloggers being paid to post.

And now, the obligatory...

The party just wouldn't have accepted him if his mom didn't die on 9/11. Or if he didn't play volleyball in college. At the college he never attended.
Sure, they were able to reconcile him being brown and gay. But not that. Never that.

Does Chevy make a 'Minnesota' edition Silverado?
No, but Ford effectively makes a Minnesota/Wisconsin F150 called the Northland edition

I’m in love with the mixed smoked beers six packs from live oak.
Did I ever send you the Surly "Smoke" lager back when we were trading? I'm not sure they still produce it but I think you'd like it.

Ugh. Tried to create gif but it wouldn't run. Not that interesting tbh, so not worth fixing.

He was completely undeterred. Here's his entire time:
He was so proud of himself early in this, and as stated he was completely undeterred by his gaffe and continued his speech (err I mean line of questioning).
No matter. He had the floor for 5 minutes, and all anyone will remember is that 54 second drubbing. Fucking perfect.

Going back to this, just for a second, I can't help but wonder what It's like to be a titan in your field (economics, foreign policy, science, etc.) and have to suffer the indignity of answering ignorant and/or leading questions from these fucking children.
This guys demeanor in particular is reminiscent of the time my wife and I brought our infant to the doctor the first time filled with lots of questions and theories about what was going on. "(sigh). No Mr and Mrs Hooch. It's not Lupus."

Yep, 2019. Here's a follow-up story I hadn't seen though.

Indeed. But it's also really old. 2019 I think.

The truth, as it relates to the clip above, is that the Dr Comer references (Marty Makary), is indeed very critical of the government response to Covid. He's not a wackadoodle though, so his ire is equally distributed among both administrations (He's mostly critical of Fauci).
Unfortunately, instead of recognizing the value of the good doctor as a means to honestly seek the truth, Comer decided to go for the cheap political point, which in turn caused Moskowitz to go for the predictable (but hilariously effective counter).
It's really quite sad that our leaders are more interested in winning the "who was right" argument than actually ensuring it's done right the next time. There will be a next time.

Wherever you go in Minneapolis proper, be prepared for a sneaky 20% surcharge at most downtown bars and restaurants for "employee wellness" or some shit. Some places make it clear that this is in lieu of tips, but others expect you to tip on top. Downtown/North Loop is expensive. $8 beers are the norm.

Fulton does sell a lot of beer, but the taproom is small- pretty much all production is offsite. I did just pop on to their website and see that they've added a small food menu. Word to the wise, they tend to get very busy before and after games, though outside of opening day, the Astros series is likely to be sparsely attended.

Ha. Meant crapshoot, but somehow crap chute works too. Maybe better.

Fulton is right there too. Both might have food trucks, but no kitchens. Otherwise, if you arrive hungry, Freehouse is close and is a cool spot with a great beer selection- avoid the house brews though.
I know you're more about booze than food, but you're staying in a primo location for good grub. Bar La Grassa, Mara, and Spoon and Stable are each less than a 10 minute walk from Modist.
Weather is an absolute crap chute that time of year. Could be beautiful or miserable.

So I've tried a couple quordles now and I'm not sure what to think about it yet- other than it might take a different strategy.
