I just saw the segment after I posted that makes sense. I still think the jerseys look ridiculous

    Agreed.  Not a fan.

I’m surprised Tech choose those jerseys for their biggest game in 10+ years. I would’ve expected them to go with their classic black jerseys

These are the Pat Mahomes/Addidas special branding uniforms.  The decision to wear them for this game was made months ago, like June or July, due to Pat's bye week.

  3. Finally read the whole story.

I don't like Baylor, don't care what happens at Baylor, and wouldn't mind if Baylor ceased to exist.  But when I read that the initial response from the administration was to require the player and assistant coach to apologize to the AD for the incident.  What the holy fuck?

I have a new disgust and hatred for BU's administration and its douchebag athletic director.

That's the most stereotypical cocky Lubbock tech kid I've ever seen

Why are so many dentists douches?  When he said he wanted to become a dentist, I'm like, "of course you are".

I guess you have to be wired differently to spend a lifetime looking in peoples' mouths.

When did Joey become a HS coaching legend?

McGuire is a 2020 inductee into the Texas High School Coaches Association Hall of Honor and a 2022 member of the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame.

Sorry, but no.  The folded pocket square is more formal and correct with a suit.  Stuffed is okay with business casual, like jacket and no tie, but then why do a square at all?

    This is the correct answer.

It's not personal, I just think most well-organized denominations are more concerned about money than anything else.  It's not a particular aspersion towards Mormons (well, besides wanting to whitewash the history of racism).

I can't think of a single corner of Christianity that isn't guilty of some absolutely heinous shit at an organized entity level.  Maybe the Episcopals and Methodists come out unscathed, but that would be about it (I'm Catholic FWIW and lord knows there's enough evil perpetrated by that organization).

Lutherans can't get organized enough to be corrupt.  We're too poor.

A 30 day window opens after the firing but they can also enter the portal during the regular period. We had some guys enter the portal after Gundy was fired but are still playing. I guess the advantage is to put yourself on the radar of other teams to see if they want to make you an offer after the season. Still can’t transfer mid semester as far as I know.

They changed that rule midway this season (probably due to all the crazy early and midseason firings).  OSU was grandfathered, so your players got to portal immediately afterwards whereas other schools the players have to wait until the regular portal window opens.

Jacob Rodriguez's wife has been posting this every day lol

Honestly, he deserves consideration because he's demonstrably having a better season than Manti T'eo did that year he finished 3rd or whatever.

That is one of the coolest pics ever.

And whereas most folks can't pull off the mustache/porn-stache, I gotta admit John Curry wears it very well.  /notgay-nottherer'sanythingwrongwiththat

They are still coached by Joey Mcguire and got beaten pretty handedly by Sam Pittman's Arkansas in their bowl game last year.

The bowl game where we trotted out 2nd and 3rd string OL, a true freshman backup QB, pretty much 2nd and 3rd string defense, and without our record setting runningback?  Oh, and not to mention, we didn't even have an OC or DC for that game...both had left (one voluntarily, one involuntarily) and the new hires didn't participate in the Bowl prep or game.  Position coaches did the play-calling.

You gotta be all kinds of stupid to judge a team or a coaching staff on that bowl game.  That was nothing more than a glorified B-team scrimmage on our part.

driving up to the game i was telling my wife that their fans would probably be pretty similar to ours being another small-ish private school.  that was not the case, at least from what we saw.

    Yeah, not even close.

Starting to think a Venn diagram of Dolphins fans and UM fans is a single circle.

  12. Was at the game...an absolute blast.

    Miami fans are a bit...odd.

4 rows in front of me was a guy somewhere between late 40's and mid-50's if I had to guess, maybe late 50's. Gray hair.  Wearing Miami Wide Receiver gloves the whole game, and basically acting like he was about 20.  Total nut job.

Can't believe how big a pussy Cristobal was to take a knee with nearly 30 seconds left.  I was rooting for SMU, so I didn't care, but I'm like, "damn, you have one of the best QB's in the country and you aren't even going to try and take a shot to win it in regulation?"

That INT in OT was glorious...I was near the top of the stands at about the 5 yard line and had a perfect view of it.  You knew it was about to be intercepted about halfway though the ball's flightpath.

They’re projecting tech to not win big12? Who do they have winning it? BYU?

As I understand it, conference champions aren't give an automatic first round bye this year.  So USA Today is predicting Tech to not be ranked in the top 4.
