To be fair, Tech is the equivalent of the make-a-wish school in the Big 12.  They were under threat of losing their accreditation not that long ago.

No they weren’t you ignorant fuck. Their accreditation was delayed because they didn’t fully meet the assessment documentation requirements. It is literally one of the most common deficiencies in the 10-year SACSCOC review. They had it reconciled within a year. They were never in danger of losing accreditation.

But please continue to spout bs that shows you have no idea what you’re taking about.

I discovered the Austin360 board, back in ‘96, on Netscape. The AAS had message boards for all the major Texas and B12 programs. The Longhorn bbs was the most trafficked, and it was real easy to view the others.

The TT board on Austin360 was interesting. The small community was in harmony about:

    Texas had nothing over TT

TT fans were better fans than Longhorn fans.  The Texas fans were jerks

TT had overtaken Texas, as a program, if people would just pay attention, and was in process of surpassing the Horns.

It’s funny how much time can pass without things changing at all.

That TT board on Austin 360 had some legendary folks who helped start a couple of the great Tech boards of all-time.  Wreck'Em.com was by far the best board in 1999-2002ish.  Ended up having a bit of a rivalry with raiderpower, which was started by folks that got their feelings hurt at Wreck'em.  Most of the Wreck'em posters migrated to RedRaiderSports.com, which eventually joined the Rivals network and now it's part of the On3 network.  Raiderpower never came close to matching the posters or the content at RRS, but RRS went 100% subscription and RP maintained some free boards.

But it all started at Austin 360.  There are people at RRS and RP who still have their Austin 360 usernames as their names on these boards.  And I know a handful who have passed on as well.

I got to work out with him at one of the Leach Fantasy Camps.  He is genuinely one of the nicest people you will ever meet.  And very, very, very fast.

They misspelled Tceh. These uniforms are a bit cartoony, but somehow I kind of like them.

I like how they tried to incorporate uniform elements from the different decades, starting with the 1920's:

Because no other fanbase regularly throws groceries onto the field during their games? I remember when this whole tortilla thing started. It was the year Tech went to the cotton bowl and got skull drug by Keyshawn. Johnson and USC. My uncle is a big time tech alum and he was so embarrassed by the tortillas. The fact you have kept doing it all these years is… I guess not surprising.

    Wrong.

The tortillas started at least 5-6 years before that.  They were throwing them my freshman year in 1991 (not nearly as many as they would by 1995, but it started either then or maybe the year before in 1990).

The best DB many fans have never heard of, including Tech fans.

    Elmer Tarbox

I would disagree with the "...including Tech fans" now thanks to the Football Ring of Honor.  Made people look him up.  Amongst my circle, though, we knew who he was and he was legendary, mainly because when Arch Lamb was still alive he would tell us stories about Tarbox (they were at Tech at the same time).

I was at that game.  You could see the PA open up and Sammy running free with no aggie anywhere near him.  The whole stadium saw it, except for the 11 aggies on the field at that moment.  Zebbie just had to get it close to him and it was an automatic TD.

    It was glorious.

My only time I ever got to travel to an away game with the team.  Probably saved Rick Dykes job as well (he was OC at the time and his offense was completely anemic).  Getting on the plane, he looked like he had just lost his dog...had zero emotion after that win.

    Chances we start on time?

Per Accuweather, it looks like the game will start on time, but the potential bad weather could hit as early as 8:00 (49%) but shoots up to 69% starting around 9:00 p.m.

Would they move the game up to try and get it finished before the weather is expected to hit?

NiJaree Canady signs another 7-figure deal with Texas Tech

Texas Tech superstar pitcher NiJaree Canady was the first $1 million softball player. She's also the second.

Canady has signed another seven-figure NIL contract with the Matador Club, the Red Raiders collective, her manager Derrick Shelby of Prestige Management told ESPN.

  11. Well Horns, it was fun rooting against Ou together. Good times.

But that is now in the past. And I’m going to play dirty. I’m going to kick yall below the belt.

May Ted Cruz show up in person for the games in OKC wearing his burnt orange.
