  1. It matters when you need to raise rates to combat runaway inflation. Financial repression indeed. Savers still getting bent over to benefit Borrowers and the Govt. Consumers to pay with higher prices on everyday goods and services. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Starting in June. Fed is 6-8 months behind in stopping Open Market purchases and shrinking the balance sheet. Now they’re behind in raising rates. Consumer spending is still strong and near full employment so they could’ve stopped OM purchases and started to shrink the balance sheet long ago. They pussy footed around too long and now they’re going to have to pull a Volker to contain inflation. But they can’t do that either without ballooning the deficit with carry costs. Rock and a hard place. Inflation may be here to stay for awhile. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. We needed 75 bps hike to combat increasingly entrenched inflation. Markets coming to terms with that today. There will be blood. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. But it sucks for RBR. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Huge relief rally in equities as traders think the Fed just might have some balls after all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. And guidance for 50 bps hikes at the next two meetings. Fed trying to play catch up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Not sure he overpaid that much. Most of the Russell’s picks I’m seeing nowadays are running $70 retail. Up from $55 last year. Still worth it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. We need another Paul Volcker. Hopefully Powell grows a pair before it’s too late. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Deutsche Bank put in the call for a major recession on Tuesday. Aggressive tightening necessary to bring inflation to heel, will be the cause. Hopefully the Fed doesn’t pussy out on a 50 bps hike like they did last meeting. Do it and get it over with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. It’s official. The economy contracted by 1.4% in the first quarter primarily because of a ballooning trade gap and slower inventory growth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Back down near $7 today. Some wild swings in the NG market but unfortunately the trend is still up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. All major airlines drop mask mandate. Uber as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Don’t know that a financial meltdown like 2008 is necessary when an old fashioned recession would do the trick. According to Goldman Sachs odds of a recession in the next two yrs have increased to 35%. Fed is behind the curve in tightening and will have a tough time negotiating a “soft landing” w/o tipping the economy into recession. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Having the same experience w EC Toasted Barrel. Nice, easy drinking. Wouldn’t pay more than retail. Now that I’ve tried it, may not even do that. Better options out there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Good call. Headed to $8/mcf today. What’s driving the spike in the NG market? LNG exports to Europe? Low domestic inventories? Rampant speculation? Some analysts still have it pegged below $5 in the future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. Has anyone renewed their Electricity contract lately? Rates look some 30-40% higher than one year ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. We’ll don’t get mad, but I’m pretty sure this is one of the seven signs of the apocalypse - http:// Surf-and-Turf Specials Cut From U.S. Menus in Sign of Price Pain https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-04-11/surf-and-turf-specials-cut-from-u-s-menus-in-sign-of-price-pain Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Debt is due at the maturity date. In the case of our govt debt, it is due when various Treasury bills and notes mature, typically in the 1 -30 yr range. At maturity, these debts must either be repaid with cash or refinanced at current market rates with lenders who will continue to buy our debt. I have a question - why does talk of inflation cause you vaginal irritation? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
