  1. Didn't mean to create a duplicate thread -- moving my post here with a reply.

    ORIGINAL POST

Anyways, one of the few things I can easily do on my car is change the oil and I have been doing so for quite some time.  I've always used Mobil1 (purchased at Costco) and Purolator filters when changing the oil on my 2013 Tahoe.  I've just recently cross 100K miles.  At what point should I think about transitioning to a different type of oil (high mileage or any other type)?  Any need to think about different filters?

@52-80I don't mean to be a smart ass, but what's the point of a lab analysis of the oil?  Don't get me wrong, information/data is good, great, grand but how do I figure out what to do with the information they will give me?

  2. I swear there was a thread already on this topic here but I searched ever iteration and couldn't find it, so maybe I'm thinking about the old place.

  3. Make a habit of sitting at the bar in restaurants. Not only will you jump past the crowds, but you will dodge getting the fumbling rookie waiter. Best thing is that drink service should be nigh-telepathically instantaneous.
To piggyback, volunteer to go get dinner for the fam and bring it back home. Sit at said bar, have a drink (maybe two), THEN order dinner and another drink (or two). THEN close out tab w one more drink before the food comes and scadaddle. Bam, you get drunk and are the family hero.

My take on this a little different than most since I was actually in the student section. The General Admission was terrible. Essentially there was just people stuck in the tunnel trying to pile into the stand. There were no seats and no where to go. We were told we needed to find seats but we couldn't move and no one would actually direct us to where there were seats. Eventually we found some seats near the aisle. Throughout the whole game, people were climbing over each other since no one found seats and just stood in the walkway. You couldn't leave to go to the restroom or people would steal your seat (it happened dozens of times around me). At halftime, people sat down but you still weren't able to leave or you lost your seat. Students became very angry that they couldn't find seats so they started to throw the fans. Then throwing the fans became a thing to do when we blew a 21 point lead. In general, the atmosphere was better but they need to do something about the general admission. They tried to turn around the students in the tunnels but no one would move so they gave up. USC is only going to be worse because people didnt even want to go to the Tulsa game because it could have rained and it was Tulsa. That's just my take

Lol.  Welcome to the student environment in the VY era.  Those student sections were PACKED and it was impossible to sit in your actual seat b/c there were so many students.  We would have to stand sideways just to pack the students in the stands.

  5. I don't disagree that he could get fired following this year depending on the outcome of the season.  I would say, if he doesn't learn how to not be a total cockmunch and humble himself during pressers, then he's certainly not buying himself any extra length on that rope.

He may have a capable quarterback in Rising, Thompson, or an early enrollment away with Johnson.  Mensa putting his early career in the hand of a kid that will not improve to the level necessary to keep him afloat.  CDC sounded concerned in that booth as Tulsa aired it out on that two play drive.

Yea, I  found it quite hilarious that as soon as he made that statement, Tulsa started making their run.

  7. During the broadcast last night, “Right now, I understand what Tom’s trying to do and I like what we’re seeing as long as we’re winning.”  Clearly a shot across the bow for Mensa.  How much time does he give Herman to fix this mess?  Has CDC gone into previous programs (obviously not TCU) and implemented a coaching change fairly quickly?

  8. YouTube is your friend.

My pops was a great father but never a handy guy, so I never learned how to do simple (and cheap) things around the house. I used YouTube to learn how to change the oil on my car, maintain small engines (lawn equipment), and do small repairs/renos around the casa.

    WTF?

That's what I said.  It's basically a member loyalty program or something.  It "buys" you 10% of all merch and $5 fill-ups with the mug.  After the first year it's $25.  Hard pass.  They do not allow you to buy the mug outright.

  10. I was at a brewery this past weekend and some of the merch they had were custom ceramic beer mugs. I asked about purchasing one and they said they were only for rent at the tune of $100/yr. So screw that. Does anyone know where I could get a similar design of maybe some custom longhorn mugs or something in the DFW area?
