Ummmm... OK I'll play, It's a little before full on bitch about your family at the holidays time, but it's gonna be in full force, "I'm hating the holidays" mode, all the way thru Jan 1.
My dad has inoperable pancreatic cancer. He's in a full cost covered rehab facility to get some strength, and weight back on his bones. He's been complaining the whole time about wanting to be home with his wife, and family, hates it there, it sucks.. etc. etc. etc. It's exactly where he needs to be, because his second wife (kind of a bitch) wasn't taking care of him properly. She was also beginning to show some early signs of dementia.
She died of a sudden, massive heart attack Wednesday. My father still doesn't know because you can't enter the facility because of Covid issues, and he wasn't thru the 14 day quarantine period where he could then go outside to talk to people, and I said we're for damn sure not telling him over the phone.
We were already making arrangements for him to go back home, but their house was completely unsuitable for him to be there, not safe, and he wasn't getting any care at all from his wife. His house will not be ready for a couple more weeks, when he can (if he wants) go home, and pay for full time, 24/7, in home caregiver services, out of his pocket at $15,000 a month.
So, we're now moving him to our home tomorrow, hospital bed, 24/7 in home care, etc. where we can tell him what's happened, with all the siblings there to break the news of her sudden passing. He already thinks I fucked him over for putting him there, so somehow this will be my fault.
And now for the rest of the story. We're giving him our first floor master bedroom from now till Jan. 4 when our house sale closes, and we move out for good. Now we'll have my dad, and his deceased wifes' socially unaware, and slightly conniving children (Their mantra: we're gonna get all the money, and property because your dad is gonna die before our mother) that we'll have to entertain off, and on from now, thru Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
God damn I hate people ! I am going to be very fucking drunk this holiday season. The only silver lining here is that maybe he, and I can have some quality time over this, his last holiday season.
Just shoot him

My fiancé’s sister came over last night for the first time in a long time because she’s having issues with her boyfriend because she wants to have a poly relationship. He was of course open to the idea at first but after her getting more matches on bumble, rightfully so, and her catching feelings for this girl, he is now against it and sadly becoming extremely controlling and aggressive. (There’s more to this story but it’s not the point)
After a few hours of just hanging out, she starts crying and we find out that it’s “the girl’s” birthday. So we’re like wtf go be with her. Long story short the girl decides to drive down to meet for drinks. Of course, all the bars are booked for hours so they end up back at our place. My girl/avatar gets drunk about once a year and I guess last night was that night. It strikes midnight, I’m about to go to sleep and she says “I think we should paint!”. (We got into painting mid COVID when we were bored, it was fun but hadn’t in a while) I facepalm and say “babe, it’s a little late, maybe a movie would be better.” Oh now it’s painting time. Well, I decide since I don’t want to see the result of the paint massacre I know is coming and go to bed. Dia Lupa (don’t look her up) then starts being blasted and so does the drunk screams. A couple hours later she stumbles into bed and I ask how did the paintings go, and she says “oh we just primed them so far”....it was two hours later. After a couple hours of sleep, I start walking into the kitchen and notice little paw prints on the floor. I bend down to wipe the first one away and it’s stuck on. Wtf? I follow the foot prints all the way into the kitchen and notice about 100 cat paw prints of lovely paint on the hardwood floor....they left the wet paintings on the counter and the cats decided to have their own paint party. When she wakes up i tell her what happens and she says “oh it’s not a big deal watch” while she grabs a paper towel, wets it, and scrubs the floor. Nothing happens. “No big deal huh?”. TONE.
act 2
”hey babe, I didn’t know you started your period last night.” She says, “I didn’t.” Son of a bitch.
In the middle of the night I see white paper flying from under the bed. The cat was ripping up toilet paper. In my sleepy state in picked everything up, threw it away, and then realized I had blood on my hand. Of course, the cat only goes crazy for tampons in the trash.
As she cracks up, “Hey babe, I’m glad you and my sister got closer last night.”
I’m lucky.can we go back to the diet coke/tea story?

My in-laws are awesome. Remodeling a house for us to stay in when I visit, feeding me drinks until I slur nightly, take the kids out for a walk, feed us. Sure there is a little mother-daughter drama but I am immune to that. FIL loves cfb and though he is a Mizzou alum, I went to Texas and so did his son, so he follows Texas a bit. I also use their farm truck when I go hunting up there. I want them to live forever.
well....that's not my experience

shit can new years? what the hell is wrong with you? The stress of christmas and family drama is over. We are back home from the yearly 1,000 mile roadtrip to see mine and wife's families.
We have friends visit, most years its more than 20, many who we don't see but once a year. Women folk cook black eyed peas and tamales inside all day on new year's eve, I fire up the grill and cook fajitas. Everyone eats and drinks too much. I build a big ass fire in the fire pit in the back yard and light it after dark. Kids run wild. Dogs go crazy.
Some friends will crash at our place in the guest room, or on a sofa or even the floor, some share a short term rental a mile down the road, a couple or so who can deal with the cold will throw up a tent and camp, a precious few (less every year) just stay up all night sipping bourbon, smoking and reminiscing and bullshitting and bitching about getting old while tending the fire.
Next day everyone eats again, nurses hangovers. The men watch football in one room, the women play board games in another, and the kids watch TV upstairs. During halftime or whenever we feel like it, we go outside and hit golf balls into the pasture.
Is this heaven?
No, it's Iowa

Uh, Covid 19 has been around a year now and getting worse as we enter fall/winter. I would be happy to spend 5 days with my in-laws or my own parents at this time. To cook for someone else, or to eat someone else's cooking would be wonderful. To get family to entertain the kids for a change would be wonderful.
I thought you meant you would want to spend time with your in-laws because you could give them covid and they would die. A little light bulb went off in my head. I'm going to see my in-laws in Tampa on Thanksgiving, and I'm taking the Greyhound bus there to do it. *cough cough*

I think we need to check on him. That reads like the wife trying to sound normal while he’s locked in a dungeon. Not unlike an alien trying to sound human post body-snatching.
There could be real trouble here.
I agree with you. That's why I started by asking if he was having a stroke. There's no way a reasonable, healthy man would have told that story to any other person.

I just went and reread it.
I am flabbergasted that anybody told this story to any other person

All is good, service, food, etc. Our waitress brings a couple of to go roadies (ice tea for me, diet coke for her) and out the door we go. Cruising down 105, at the first red light I take off the top and take a sip, shit I got the diet coke. Keep my cool and ease out a Mmmmm.... She's like "tea's good huh?" I'm like yeah. She takes a long pull on the straw and starts spittin' sputterin' and carrying on. Looks at me says WTF? I'm like what? Oh..would you like some diet coke? The waitress had inadvertently swapped our glasses. I thought it was funny, her not so much.
BTW, someone should send Burt out there this weekend for the official kickoff on a recon mission. There will be plenty of cougar/MILF ass to take picts of.
Are you having a stroke? This is the worst story I have ever heard. Why did you take the time to write this?

When discussing the season-ending injury to Jaylen Waddle, Saban noted that the Crimson Tide standout ideally would not have been returning the opening kickoff. “I hate it that [Waddle] gets hurt on a play like that. Not supposed to bring a ball out when he's that deep in the end zone,” Saban said.
Prick. And then went on to say you have to trust a great player's judgment. He was just upset and angry that he got hurt. Take a midol or something.

Actually I would worry about a 80 series with only 3k miles. It would probably be totally dry rotted. But I'd scoop one up with 100k if I could find one in good shape.

That is the rarest one though to be fair (the trail teams in general).
There was another that had been owned by Jerry Seinfeld a month or two ago. It was a 6 speed and had 3k miles but it went for $68k.
If you could find a 3k mile 80 or 100 it would go for an insane price as well.Yes but they are also far superior vehicles.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2014-toyota-fj-cruiser-21/$56,000? Holy shit! You could get a great 80 series and completely refurbish it for that.

Found this incredibly cheap Thai beef ribeye that looked like it had good marbling at local Makro (wholesale club like Costco). $3, somehow didn't take a pic of the marbling.
Cooked the first one straight sear and rest; was chewy as fuck, and had faintly metallic blood taste like it hadn't been hung and aged at all after slaughter. Wet aged the other one for a week, cooked sous vide for 4hr at 132F to try and tenderize, quick ice bath, grill sear. Result? Still chewy, just not chewy as fuck, and flavor was better.
Will buy more and try again with some variations on prep. Will try sous vide at some longer intervals, will try pineapple tenderize marinade. I need to figure out how to make this garbage meat cook decent, because it's effing cheap (and the raw cut actually does look very good). A comparable imported steak is 5-8x the price here, providing a lot of incentive to figure this meat out.
this is the worst post in this thread

I'm sure false positives are fun for old people. "Oops!".
During the post-game interview he basically said it was very scary.

My (now ex-)wife once complained that in a dream she caught me cheating on her. I acted all excited and asked "Who with? Was she hot? What were we doing?" She got pissed but I never heard about another one of those dreams.
When they say they had a dream about you cheating, just say "me too!" with a big smile on your face and then start humming happily while you make your coffee. That will be the last time the topic is raised.

He killed it. I can't remember the last time I laughed out loud at a SNL monologue.

I still believe Harris was down by forward progress. He was held up for three seconds before the ball was stripped. Anyway, Alabama defense fucking sucks.

It's nonsense. Kiffin ran the same type of plays over and over. Alabama left the middle of the field open and they kept trying to find the seam with TEs and RBs. Plus they moved too fast to adjust the plays based on the defensive signals. Pete Golding (Alabama's DC) is trash.

Sorry man. Just joking. I have severe gallows humor (from dealing with similar situations to yours). I apologize for offending you and you have my best wishes for your family.
