  1. My son and I watched this over the last couple of days. We were starting episode 6 when some friends showed up to the house as they are staying with us until they get electricity back. They asked what episode we are on and asked what we thought about the plot twist. We had no idea - however, it was clear that something was always off (e.g., his ability to process alcohol, etc.)

That plot twist was too much and unnecessary. The noir part of the show was excellent. I’m not sure I would be interested in a second season.

Power at the pumps is certainly an issue, which is why we specifically requested access to state gov/NG fuel pads.  We offered to pay FMV for the diesel either way, even if it just helps a handful of generators or delivery trucks or EMT/Fire vehicles.  We're not looking to grow.  The entire package was offered for free, absolutely zero charge.  Not a dime other than bonded coverage in case the truck accidentally runs off into a swollen bayou or something, but the state can certainly cover that under its current liability.  When Penske and ALDI offer to bring a community nearly a million pounds of supplies for no charge and just asks for a chance to buy diesel from a functioning station so they don't wait in line and overrun their time limit on hours behind the wheel and we got get into a whole thing with the drivers on employee protection.  The answer is "Yes."  ALDI foods, expanded by Black Horse Carriers before they were bought out by Penske.  Been delivering relief supplies since WWII for nothing, not a cent.  They've trucked in nearly 15mm euros of food and supplies into Ukraine over the last two years.  And there's not a PSA to exploit it.  And if you get ALDI, you get the multiple stores in Houston for Trader Joe's to jump in and help as well.  They've been doing this since before you and I were born.  It's not a special favor, it's a lack of leadership.  When the largest grocer and largest trucking company in the world offer you their services for zero fucking dollars, you take it.

Who gave you the Penske file? I don’t think you’re Penske material!

The common theme on the POD episode from yesterday and the one with Heilmann/Axelrod is that what Biden needed to do most was to get out there immediately. Do question and answer sessions, give interviews, etc. Flip the script ASAP. And he's not doing that. Why? Well, yeah, about that....

Yep - That’s the only way to potentially overcome that debate performance. He needs to be in the public showing that was just a weird blip. The fact that he’s not doing that tells us everything. He’s not capable without the teleprompter. The people on his team know his capabilities.

Yep, this.  It's the one loophole in federal elections.  The POTUS/VP candidates can use the money interchangeably.  And can even cut it up if they lose anyway they want.  A Senator can't just hand off $50mm to another candidate if the drop out or lose.  But yeah, another candidate emerges on the DNC ticket...they can't onboard that money.  It would have be refunded to the donors and then re-donated to the new ticket.  Not terribly difficult but will raise a lot of eyebrows, many will feel offended and not make the re-up, and it's absolute cannon fodder for the media.

How much of the money is actually in the Biden/Harris campaign as compared to PACs?

My understanding is the PACs can spend their money on any candidate so it’s not tied to Biden/Harris.

Well, as of midnight my homeowners insurance expired. We set up a new policy a couple of years ago through Progressive who has some sort of deal with Farmers (I think. My wife, who I may or may not getting divorced from was in charge of this)

At any rate, we have a unique home in the "country" which while pretty low risk and fairly new 2007, really needs a good look at to insure. In fact, during the initial underwriting, I had to go dig up construction documents on our garden roof install, for example.

We have been trying for two years to get an actual inspection, but have not been able to get Farmers out there simply because they cant just drop by since our propert is gated and game fenced and they refuse to set up an actual appointment.

So I guess they labeled us a non  cooperative and dropped us despite our protestations and recommended we get another carrier for everything.

I own a construction business and my agent hasn't been able to help much on the personal side over the years.

Im eligible for USAA. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Have you tried Texas Farm Bureau?

I have insured the home in my ranch through them. The agent and his office has always been helpful and responsive. They also were not a hassle to do with after a fairly significant hail storm hit my property a couple of years ago.

    That wouldn’t have helped Donald

Exactly - then the Court may have had time to find that trying to overthrow a valid election isn’t an official act.
