Thanks.  I have no brief with adults choosing to live their lives however they want to.  It's the kids getting caught up in "gender affirming care" that bothers me.

Why do you believe that you and/or politicians should have any say in this matter?

Personally, this should be a discussion between a child, parents and doctors only.

This Barnes team could be a FF team.  They definitely have the inside game and rebounding.  Not sure they have the shooting though against a good defense.  If they go up against a physical team and have an average or poor shooting night they could be knocked off.  But they have a better chance than us, with or without Beard.

Have you seen a Rick Barnes coached tournament team?

How are the hogs on the fences?  Does it keep them in/out and do they do any damage to them?

Hogs do some minor damage to the fences on my place. Nothing major but they will push up the bottom of the fence to get through. We will spend a few days every year putting in hog panels to cover up the holes. I understand some ranches will install some fencing into the ground to prevent this.

  4. Yep - The original Scooby series and the pre-Scrappy versions were must see TV on Saturday morning in the late 70s/early 80s. I introduced both of my kids to Scooby and the gang when they were young and they loved the shows as well.

I finally got around to watching the first 2 episodes of Velma and it’s not terrible. However, it often felt as if they were trying too hard with respect to some of the jokes. I certainly didn’t think this show would merit 4 pages of discussion.

Don’t games that go on what networks get decided before the season even starts? Guessing ESPN figured ISU would suck this year and they don’t flex games onto TV, which would push someone who was promised ESPN/2 over to ESPN+ instead

That’s the only thing that makes sense but a flex system would definitely be an improvement.

To be 100% frank, if you are a Big 12 school fan and don’t have ESPN+ by now, that’s on you. The conference pushes at least 1 of all the non-Texas/OU school’s BB games to ESPN+, plus football too (except Texas games go to LHN). It’s been part of the TV deal since like 2019. It’s only for another couple years.

How does the best Big 12 game end up on ESPN+?

I get moving some games to ESPN+ as part of the overall conference package, but it shouldn’t be the best game of the day between two top 20 squads.

No.  Sorry, but no.  If you do that, then we should get to deduct social security taxes paid from overall income taxes.  Also, bring back my SALT deductions.

You want the policies but aren’t willing to pay for them. If the cap goes away, then I understand my tax burden will increase but I believe that Social Security should provide a safety net for those who are less fortunate. It’s the same argument for the state and local tax deduction.

Personally, I would also means-test for social security as it’s crazy that the government is sending checks to those who don’t need it.

They will use the same arguments: Privatize SS to earn investment returns. Allow people to opt out. Start to phase out benefits. Lower SS taxes.

Which all of the above could be implemented but they will also all create more older people on welfare.  The real solution is one that everyone hates but is necessary: slowly raise the SS tax up from 6% to 8%.

The real solution is take away the income cap on FICA.

If McCarthy does the plurality thing and it passes, and they are forced to vote for him, wouldn’t the first thing to happen afterwards is 5 of them put him up for recall and start the carousel up again?

I think he doesn’t present the agreed upon rules package. They didn’t originally vote for him so why should he honor that deal.
