  1. Apparently the NFL has now decided that beginning next season, receivers will begin wearing harnesses with large chrome handles on either side of their back that make will it easier to grab onto them when they try to run a route. This was a response to the outcry from D backs that it was getting too hard to try and keep up with the receivers and it was requiring all kinds of exercise during practices.
  2. So just finished the final episode of Rome (2005) (8.7/10 at IMDB). Haven't seen it since it premiered. What an amazing piece of historical fiction about the last days of the Roman Empire condensed into a few years. A strong friendship forms between two warriors who in many ways couldn't be more different. Great acting all around. Unforgettable characters include Julius Caesar, Mark Antony, Cleopatra and about twenty others. Epic. The two men are Lucius Veronus, a by the book Roman commander and Titus Pullo, a brawling drunk, also in Caesar's army. Brings to life the daily life in ancient Rome. Very authentic realization. The story was not designed to go for more than two seasons, and the producers didn't sell out.
  3. Haven't seen those. Thinking about it. It's pretty cutting edge.
  4. If percentages meant you'd come out even going for two, people would be doing it all the time. Everyone kicks EPs.
  5. Theoretically you have the mo. WTF was he thinking. Another score and it's overtime. Horrible fucking decision
  6. Nice halftime adjustments, Texans... That said, couldn't help but feel refs were helping to keep Balt. on top. The holding of receivers was every play.
  7. Talk about last second victories. Go Horns! Fuck BAAylor.
  8. LOA: pretty good movie, but doesn't it begin with hero running off the road at a high speed with a motorcycle? Okay, Ted (2012) turned out to be pretty funny. Should probably point out that the series is a Prequel of sorts, taking place while John is a teenager. Less structure. Throw in goofy parents and hot aunt. No Mila Kunis in her prime.
  9. Fuckin' A, Mrs. Lamb! You ain't alone. That said, sadly, it's hillbilly man gonna build back better. He's gonna bring in another wunderkind OC like Jason Garrett or Twinletoes Moore. Guys who specialize in offenses that work great against shitty teams. Guys he can give a ten percent raise to when he makes them Head Coach. Save a shitload of money. Maybe he should hire a Sideline Clock Management Specialist (SCMS) so that Fat Mike can't fuck that aspect of the game up. How much are Quarterback Whisperers these days? (psst - man covered, don't throw).
  10. Oher missed opportunities, by the way. How 'bout a news broadcast talking about all the bodies they found under that tank. Famous people, or politicians dating back to the last century - a Tillman family tradition, perhaps - D.B. Cooper? Maybe dot coulda seen a fucking football field full of corpses down in that hole. Fun stuff. None of that shit was real, by the way, IMHO. Same with most of the other seasons. They definitely dropped the ball on Indira's storyline. Instead we get a whole episode on Dot's dream and Linda's doll sanctuary. Half a show on musical hospital beds. A lot of parts were incredibly creative and interesting, then it would be like WTF?
  11. Seen spoken, heard, whatever - on a network production. Shit - all the time. Fuck occasionally, Dick yeah. Cock rare. Cocksucker rarer. Motherfucker? Don't think so. Could be a brain fart.
  12. So I often find that about 45min into a modern "comedy" that I haven't so much as chuckled once, and I'll turn it off. Just fininshed Ted, season 1 (7 episodes). Laughed my ass off. Plan to watch the movie soon.
  13. Jerry, Fat Mike, the Tri-demic is on the way. Vax up, baby. Vax up. The Demic gonna be bad for you two. Get vaxxed today. Extra booster even better
  14. The top creative minds could have landed other gigs and left before the writing was complete. (Pretty sure that's what happened to Breaking Bad and GOT.) The top writers knew it was the last season and they were looking out for #1, leaving the Director and a couple of other top people to plan an ending and script it out. They could immediately become buried in another story and wouldn't waste time coming back to finish this one off. The Director does the best he can, but at some point he has to put the story to bed and move on. Next season we find Munch, teeth fixed, as the family dine-in bodyguard/butler, wearing $5,000 suits and getting hundred dollar haircuts. "A man needs Steak Tartare," he'll say. After thinking about it, I think this was the most disappointing of the five seasons. It had some great moments. Started with a bang, ended with a one hour wimper.
  15. There is ONE REASON and ONLY ONE REASON this worthless SOS won't fire McCarthy: He is the cheapest JA on the planet. He's probably got McCarthy tied down for a couple of mil a year, but going out and getting a real coach, who is real smart, innovative and commanding of respect, and who would actually give us a shot at a playoff win would cost FJJ 20+mil a year. That is all he's looking at. He is cheap, cheap and cheaper. The Cowboy fans, the Cowboy legacy, whatever, can go fuck themselves. They are just a necessary evil in FJJ's eyes. He will turn his back on us until the day he dies.
  16. From ESPN.com A number of Dallas players, including quarterback Dak Prescott and left guard Tyler Smith, stood up for McCarthy following the loss to the Packers. They said they appreciated McCarthy's willingness to take care of their health and well-being during the course of the season.
  17. Halfway thru the first Episode of "Ted" (Peacock). It's funny as hell. Warning: politically incorrect. Never seen the word "motherfucking" on TV before. Not ever sure I've seen it in a movie. Didn't know what to expect, but I like it. PS Haven't seen the movie released in 2012 with Mark Wahlberg.
  18. Jerry, you owe it to Fat Mike to cut him loose now so he can begin entertaining all the job offers that are going to come rolling in. Possibly every team in the nation wants him. Don't fire him after all those jobs have been filled.
  19. So Munch munched. Almost all of the Ruby Ridge angle was a letdown - other than the killings of Lorraine's lawyer and Whit. Predicted a Whit/Roy showdown just didn't think Whit would be so damn stupid. Dot with a rifle was not interesting. Lorraine has one decent scene, once again, essentially a no-show. Gator's fucking sorry! Not good enough. Not even close. Yeah, tie him to a tree blind, but surround him with boiling hot springs. Or Snatch-caliber hungry pigs. Gator wakes up, eyes obviously cut out, feels around and finds he has been handcuffed to two-foot thick tree and is given a ten-inch hacksaw. Fuck Gator. Missed opportunities: Roy jumps accross table for Lorraine, but her designated inmates drag him screaming down the hall - screaming. They're saying, "come on, Sweetie" etc. Wayne puts something in Munch's orange drink, he gets groggy, then angry, begins wreaking havoc, daughter puts him away, gun preferred, but big knife, garrote would have worked. Or Wayne finally steps up. They feed Munch something really nasty, like Drano. Roy is taken to hospital in Ambulance, kills its crew, escapes and disappears completely, uniquely, for one year, returning for final showdown at Dot's house. Good season, but I think the writers got a bit lazy, landed other gigs, etc. Wouldn't be surprised if unlike previous seasons, they continued this storyline - Roy cultists help him escape via fake suicide.
  20. Although Young seems to focus on Jones, he mentions "the last four years." He's talking about McCarthy's coaching - not just Jerry's refusing to give a coach free rein.
  21. The FJJ/Fat Mike Cowboys have become a national laughing stock And the news just keeps on coming. From CBS Cowboys' Dak Prescott says he 'sucked' in upset loss vs. Packers, now tied for worst postseason record by QB (msn.com)
