  1. Terrible call - that squeeze
  2. Wasn't Earl Campbell the backup for Rosie Leaks for a couple of games? Leaks was effing amazing until he got injured. Earl was a step up. That guy put on a show all thru college and for several years into the pros. One of the greatest running backs in history.
  3. Gonna venture a guess here that we may be seeing cutting edge technology. Seems Jones claimed it's all gone from his body. That sounds virtually impossible to me. In the past, if one cell survives, it possibly has some kind of immunity and then it begins to multiply. Next thing you know you have an even bigger problem. It occurs to me that maybe the new way of treating cancer will be to use this tech on you every time there's a recurrence. I just can't imagine anything that will get rid of every single cell. I say this because in the old chemo days, they nearly killed you (and your own immunity) to get rid of all the cancer - and your body is destroyed and it still didn't work. We've seen Jones now for the last year or two looking none the worse for wear, so maybe PD1 will become the new standard, and eventually available to everyone. A friend last year got a grim diagnosis, but other friends who know what they're talking about sound like the prognosis has turned around. So fingers crossed (not for Jones, mind you).
  4. The ball's in Sark's court. He and his staff need to work their asses off.
  5. I think we're gonna find that Arch gets the ball out more quickly than Ewers did and that will give the Receivers and RBs extra time to make their moves and break free. This should be Sark's bread and butter. We'll see some quick throws turn into long gainers. Needless to say Manning will have a better feel for the pocket and will get us a few extra first downs with his legs. Seems like Ewers had a tendency to lower his head. Arch needs to get out of bounds after five or fifteen yards and stay healthy. If he can connect on the long balls look out. Combine good pocket movement with a couple of speedy receivers and all hell will break loose. Would like to see a couple of sixty point offensive blowouts. Add one or two fifty point efforts. It'll be pretty sweet. Back in the day the Horns used to beat the piss out of almost everybody. Remember Navy with Staubach. #1 vs. #2? Texas 28-6 or something like that.
  6. More detail here. Stage 4. Cured. Lymph nodes. MD Anderson. Miracle drug PD-1. Cowboys most valuable NFL Franchise @ $12.8billion. Can't win a Super Bowl. Jerry Jones Breaks Silence on Long Battle and Victory over Stage 4 Cancer
  7. Strategy: Convince the Jones Boys that the Cowboys have gone to hell simply because the entire NFL is going to hell. There will never be a better time to sell this shit franchise - they're gonna lose a billion a year in mkt value every year going forward - maybe 2 bil some years. Sell now, move the fuck back to Arkansas. Get those long hoped-for banjo lessons.
  8. I only got to see what I'm guessing were his last two plays and had to turn it off. My stomach is still queasy from the knowledge of what could have been... A magical miracle Natty season where a young QB comes off the bench and, riding on the shoulders of an amazing Defense, shocks the world. A story for the ages. Preventing that from happening will be Quinn's legacy here at UT - although Sark gets a healthy share of the blame. Quinn was a nice guy, but showed no improvement in his time here. Kept getting injured. Couldn't make the big play. Based on what I saw, we may never again see Quinn in a football uniform. He was lucky to spend his best days in football at UT. Very lucky. Time for everybody, including Quinn, to move on.
  9. July 31: Headline - Trey Lance tosses 2 touchdown passes, leading the Chargers over the Lions 34-7 in Hall of Fame game. Another milestone in Jones' legacy. Chargers 34-7 Lions (Jul 31, 2025) Game Recap - ESPN
  10. I dropped $150 on a pair of Maui Jims about 25 yrs ago. They were great for the two weeks it took for a neighbor's kid to lift them when I wasn't looking. Lesson learned. Have managed to pick up a few pair of affordable sunglasses over the years which I've nursed along. The key to keeping plastic lenses clear is using a soft cloth and a good glass cleaner. (I recently discovered Pink Stuff (FWIW) on Amazon. Read the reviews. Superior to Windex in all respects. Now I've found it in Walmart). Anyway, I always keep my eyes peeled for a nice looking budget class sunglasses, and it's been a real desert out there. That said, in the last year I've run across a couple of pairs at HEB. Love 'em. The thing that really sets these apart, however is that they are POLARIZED. Wow. What a difference.
  11. What a talent! Amazing athlete. How many pitches did she end up throwing tonight. 125?
  12. Glad the SS got that last out. The prior error wasn't her fault. She had a bad bounce on a very hard hit ball
  13. Glad they left Karvan in. Hard earned championship. Great job, ladies!
  14. Nice moment, btw, at third base.
  15. End this baby with a strikeout!
  16. And... She gave up five runs in the first inning...
  17. Bring Mahone's back Mfuckers. Let's watch him eat some crow.
  18. All doubt removed. But... but.... Let's hear more about Kanady! Motherfuckers
  19. Pile on Motherfuckers! Pile on!
  20. I think the Texas coach was too smart by a half.
  21. FWIW, the ump barely grazed the catcher's arm. It's likely that the catcher moved a little to her left because of the batter's obstruction. It certainly simplified the end result. No second base for you! (The Base Nazi)
