  1. I guess I don't understand really. There's going to be a separate line if I'm not planning on eating my BBQ there? Is this only for those that pre-order, which is a 20-pound minimum and has to be done 14 days in advance?

  2. The Jared line was incredible. I liked the finale, I think.

Anyway, back to the character discussion I still love the Silicon Valley bro tech lawyer that crops up a couple of times per season. They haven't killed that one for me yet.

  3. Man, I still dig on a lot of 80's tunes by the Smiths, New Order, Echo & the Bunnymen, Stone Roses (they barely slip in), The The and Talking Heads. There are many others. I was a very late-comer to Talking Heads in that I only discovered their true greatness in the last 4-5 years. Wall Street is a terrific time capsule of the 80's and the scene where "This Must Be the Place" is playing is just sublime. At any rate, this is perhaps my favorite Talking Heads' song from the 80's:

The On Demand shit is all fucked up.  Half the time I try to watch something, it says no programs available.  Seems to be a prevalent problem from what I've read.  Seems like it shouldn't be, though.

    Infuriating

  5. Still chasing Pulisic?

Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic is wanted by Liverpool this summer partly because the club’s owners are keen to bolster their American appeal.

Journalist Duncan Castles told The Transfer Window Podcast: “There’s a longstanding interest in Pulisic, a lot of it motivated by him being an American superstar and the commercial value involved with that.

“The owners have wanted a top-grade American in that team for a long time.

“And Pulisic was also promoted to Dortmund’s first team squad by Klopp - so there’s a direct link between the player and the coach there.

“When I last asked they were asking about a $70m (£50m) asking price, which has probably gone up since then.”

As a young professional, you quickly realize that the universe of young professionals in San Antonio is very, very small.  And it is peopled almost entirely with natives.  That leads to a certain provincialism.  I can't tell you how many parties I was at in San Antonio at which I was asked "so what high school did you go to?".  And if the answer wasn't "Alamo Heights," you weren't shit, and they let you know it.

This is 100% accurate. It's my experience that AH is more insular and snobbish than Highland Park IMO.

  7. Tia Sophia was pretty, pretty good. We also dug Madrid, which is along the Turquoise Trail -- one way to get to Santa Fe from Albuquerque. Just remember that most stuff in Madrid closes around sundown (at least during the week). We went to La Casa Sena one night and it was neat sitting out on the patio area. IIRC, there's a piano bar off to the side.

Google Castle Hills, he's right, at least about part of it being in 410. The parts I've seen that are outside 410 aren't too shabby, so inside must be really nice.

Interesting. Not sure I went into the area inside the loop very much if at all. Might've gone to a few Lee parties back in there, I guess. I usually was always merging onto 410 from there to go towards North Star Mall. The cops in CH are fuckin' pricks though. Better not drive 1 MPH over the posted limit or you were in for a painful traffic stop.

Im terrified of chuck e cheese. Not because of the huge mouse, insane pizza prices and 15 dollar stuffed animals...Im afraid of the white trash obese weekend crowd.

This is a reality. The one up by Valley View mall was like one of the circles of hell -- and the only one close so that's where the birthday parties were -- before they renovated. Now it's only half terrible and they serve beer now. Luckily, my kids have passed that stage of their lives.

Good god Junior is annoying. He is part of the problem with the media sucking Tiger’s dick. Also, bitching like a woman about Webb Simpson’s putting stroke. I literally went someplace else for my sports talk.

He doesn't know the first thing about golf really. Yes, Tiger is a draw -- or at least he used to be. But I don't think NBC was purposely putting his name first among the players he was tied with Sunday. I think it was merely because he was deeper into his round than the others he was tied with. If two players have an identical score (relative to par), the one further into the round is considered ahead. First in, last out.

That vid is awesome.  "She was eating Bugles like Nabisco need their bags back."

Apparently, that guy is a stand-up comedian that first used this Donnie Baker character on some radio show. I didn't know that when I first posted that. (And it's odd the guy saying "Go Fuck Yourself" from the upstairs window doesn't sound like the same guy.)

So there is a real possibility that they're looking in the wrong area because the investigating authority has determined the plane went down in an uncontrolled free fall, while the majority of of outside aviation experts think the plane was controlled to the very end and put down purposely in a different area.  Some interesting shit going on here.

Didn't parts from MH370 wash up on the shores of some small island off the east coast of Africa some time ago?
