  1. I’ve somehow made it 100+ bottles into this without ever trying WT rare breed. Found it for $38 at an otherwise picked over Twin during the sale for $38 and couldn’t pass it up.
  2. If you guys see the Redemption Wheated Bourbon for anything in the $40-$45 range you need to pick up a bottle. I tried it semi-blind with an NCF OWA pick and Maker’s RC6 and it won outright. The Redemption was all over at Spec’s a couple months back and there has to be some still lying around. I can’t wait to see how that MGP wheated mashbill tastes at 8-10 years and higher proof.
  3. I’ll sell my w12 1.75 for $425, save money by buying in bulk.
  4. What are you trying to trade for? Location?
  5. Looks like a relative of that girl’s worst old fashioned ever. How was it?
  6. Bought one from Alamo in SA and kinda hated it. I have 4-5 other picks from them that I really like so I’m taking it as a sign to not buy another. It’s like young Beam mixed with 1792 Sweet Wheat.
  7. God they push Bib & Tucker so hard at TW.
  8. Beam has a hard time making things taste special or different than their basics aged up. Not sure this could possibly even be 2x as good as a 13-15 y/o Knob pick. Little Book 03 is probably their best special edition to date and way better than knob 2001 or 25th.
  9. Beat me to it. No way.
  10. Pikesville is the available best. I like the Alberta stuff so WP 10 picks and Treaty Oak 10. Owl batch 1 and 2 are great, haven’t had three yet. Michter’s 10 rye is bsdass but I don’t have a bottle yet. Willett 4 yr is pretty intense but good. If you can’t find that try Kooper family rye. It’s a dead ringer for Willett.
  11. There’s no MGP on that list, which is sad. Sounds like you’re in SA so you need to get your ass over to Alamo and pick up their 12 yr Widow Jane 100 proof picks for $86. That and the Redemption High Rye 10 yr at $79 are the two best MGP values right now. Both will wreck shop in a blind tasting.
  12. This is great work, I love it. I did a slightly larger goat half on the open fire and half in my caja China on NYE and it was glorious. Not my photos, but my cooking. https://www.instagram.com/p/B6wh4m2jHUJ/?igshid=3sjj99bqli0l https://www.instagram.com/p/B6w4tm6jnzc/?igshid=2mx2d8oztrh6
  13. Had it last night and it’s pretty much trash. Weird bitter flavors on the palate with a classic young corn craft distilled finish. It’s the same price as a Russell’s Reserve pick so screw that.
  14. It’s hard to get in some areas and will sell for about 2x retail in those locations. Some guys in TX are using it to build up points at Spec’s/TW and fueling the fire. For what it’s worth, I picked up a Larceny single barrel and compared it to Weller SR and the Larceny was nowhere near as good. For the retail price ($18) it’s tough to beat Weller SR.
  15. Buy that WLW and I’ll take it off your hands for $400+tax and throw in a WB Saffell for your trouble. Or if you have another bottle in mind I might have that, too.
  16. I saw that online, but paid $116 at Twin and saw it for $90 at Spec’s.
  17. Hard pass. I’ll stockpile another one before they get hard to find but it’s all over Spec’s for $90 now. Just passed on a few Book 2s today at $89 a full 14 months after its release. Just be patient and it will come to you. With that said I did it side by side with Booker’s and a 15 year Knob pick last night and it’s clearly better so definitely pick one up at MSRP or less.
  18. Been loving the old MGP these days. The OLC Magnus pick, Redemption 10 year high rye and Remus Volstead 14 are all on point.
  19. Pretty sure there is no secondary on Owl, but I still want to know how it is.
  20. About $2500 in client gift $60-$80 bottles in December and maybe a grand through the year on myself will get it done.
  21. WLW is $800, GTS is $450 and ER17 is $1050. Finally found a Little Book Chapter 3 in a Twin back room today. Also picked up a ‘19 GTS for retail that was being held for me. Christmas is gonna be lit.
  22. $950. I would trade it down for a couple of BTACs If it was me.
  23. Ha, me too. *high five* Was actually looking for Little Book 03 but apparently we might grow old and die before it makes it all over Texas.
  24. That was kind of a joke. Sometimes the assumption is that there’s no good whiskey just sitting in the shelf at Spec’s because there’s so much bad whiskey sitting on the shelf. I keep a bottle of this and a backup for making great cocktails and people who like to drink with ice. It’s right there with four roses small batch select and 1910 when it comes to readily available bourbon.
  25. Haven’t had any MB, but Belle Meade Cask Strength Reserve is my favorite $54 barrel strength shelf turd.
