  1. Slovis and the best WR group in America finally woke up.
  2. Thanks for the review timeout.
  3. If we somehow pull this off it’s going to be one of those wins that feels like losing.
  4. We look very Clay Helton.
  5. Dripping Springs kid with the TD.
  6. Picked up one of these today and it’s actually not age stated. Apparently it contains the 17 yr but is blended with lower age product. Not sure why people can’t figure out how to do special releases just a bit better.
  7. Daaaamn. What do you get for being his spiritual guide?
  8. Daaaamn. What do you get for being his spiritual guide?
  9. I’ve made some old fashioneds with Stagg Jr and they went hard. Kinda tempted to crack my Handy and make a bougie AF Sazerac Sazerac.
  10. And 1 and 4. 1 is just completely unmemorable. Somebody could refill my chapter 1 with Knob 12 and I wouldn’t notice. I recall it being generically Bourbon-ish despite having some fairly oddball components in the blend.
  11. This is my favorite book.
  12. I can get behind this hyping of cheap Barton handles. Y’all need to snap this stuff up!
  13. Batch 3 is still shelf turding it up everywhere for $199 and MSRP is up $99? Right. Not sure where they came from but Twin has been breaking out a few batch 1 rye lately for $202.99. That’s basically secondary value but it’s good enough that I bought a spare
  14. 2020 BTACs are in. Picked up a GTS and also traded for a ‘19 GTS which I swapped for a ‘20 Handy.
  15. Buy two, sell one and call it even?
  16. Never listen to Bill. But it’s actually really good. A better 4 yr rye than WFE for sure.
  17. $59 at Spec’s all summer long on the shelf. I had two backups so I didn’t grab more, but rumor has it that flow has been cut off by Heaven Hill so maybe I should have.
  18. Old Ezra 7 is a Luxco brand now using Heaven Hill sourced bourbon at barrel proof. It’s damn good and $39 but has a secondary value of $75 or so and can be hard to find.
  19. This right here. I have in excess of 100 open and usually about 30 on the back bar at any one time. A bottle will come out, lose a few ounces and then head back into the cupboard where I don’t see it until I’m running through my open list in Notes in my phone and dig through to find it. I’m trying to not open any bottles right now until I kill one. If the question is what do I use for cocktails or people who don’t care then it’s a cheaper store pick EC or ER and Rare Breed/OF1920 for high proof. If you had to pin me down on something I’d say EH Taylor SiB or SB because 100 proof is such a sweet spot.
  20. It’s pretty damn good in store pick version, but pretty average in the standard bottling. They go for about $300 and $270 respectively so if you’re going to throw down for a bottle might as well go all the way. It’s significantly better than Larceny BP, which doesn’t suck but isn’t worth a penny over retail. If you want something in the middle grab a 7 yr Boone County Wheated single barrel. It’s pretty much the best available barrel proof wheater that isn’t WLW and only runs $150 secondary.
  21. I did it with 50% OWA, 40% W12 and 10% Stagg Jr and loved it. It could possibly have beat everything up through ORVW blind.
  22. Thanksgiving nightcap. I think I had 4 oz because people thought it was too hot. Whatever, man.
  23. Last Grandma I have left is way too religious to hide that kind of devil’s brew in a closet for me.
  24. Serious as long as the fill level and condition are good on the one you want to cut loose. Shoot me a message when you’re ready.
  25. I’ll trade you a ‘19 George T Stagg, a ‘20 Birthday Bourbon and a Rock Hill Farms for just one of them if that gives you an idea on value.
