  1. Picked up an EHTBP for the first time ever two weeks ago. Tried it semi-blind with an ‘18 GTS and Stagg Jr batch 9 tonight and I liked it best. Crazy good bourbon for $81 retail.
  2. Is sucking as a coach and losing to BYU not reason enough? We will lose at least one more and will never be good under Helton. His ability to rally a team to 6-8 wins by cleaning up the bottom of the PAC 12 shouldn’t keep him employed.
  3. I have a bottle and it’s ok but will probably be relegated to cocktail duty.
  4. ECBP B519 is everywhere and supposedly good. Peerless Bourbon is out but it’s $63.99 worth of hot garbage. Mic Drop 3.0 can be found but it’s like Belle Meade only more expensive and not as good. So I guess it’s off to the bar for full proof, EHT barrel proof and EHT Amaranth.
  5. Picked up a couple of bottles of Hancock’s President’s Reserve this week. Cracked one tonight and it’s not going to win any awards for being edgy or unique, but damn it nails the easy drinking notes and a little of my favorite stone fruit on the palate. Call it Blanton’s for when Blanton’s seems to aggressive. Also only $46 so there’s that.
  6. In SA it’s Alamo City or hope for something lucky at Spec’s or TW. I’ve picked up a few decent bottles at TW there and would say that people are a little slower on the draw there vs Austin.
  7. Definitely not because they’re both black. Absolutely nothing of that nature going on here.
  8. I don’t specifically have a dog in this fight, but I was at the game last night giving the LSU fans around me hell for making the game as unwatchable as the last 10 minutes of an NBA game. The two players down train wrecks were the most comical. On the second occurrence the player closest to the north end zone popped up to his knees when he saw the other player down then stayed on his knees when the trainers came out and said something to him. I don’t ever recall that kind of BS on an Orgeron USC defense.
  9. But that will be roughly two playoff appearances which is better than a Vegas Bowl or staying home with Helton.
  10. The Grillz? What did they say for lead time?
  11. For a brand new 36”. Think it’s worth saving $600 to drop 6” (that’s what she said) and add the stainless grates?
  12. That’s a good food I loved past tense. It always sucks now. I’ll probably say sushi. It’s really only good when it’s really, really good.
  13. https://houston.craigslist.org/for/d/houston-klose-bbq-smoker-20x30/6964990844.html This one just showed up on Craigslist. Not sure about $1200 but like the stainless double grates.
  14. I hate you. I’ve done 4 racks of ribs on my egg and was assuming I could do 2 racks of ribs, a brisket and some sausage all at one time on the 36” which would suit my needs well.
  15. Klose says they have the 20x36 in stock. Also an ultra sexy stainless one for three large. https://bbqpits.com/bbq-pits-in-stock/
  16. Ha, serious. I’ll take some tool hangers instead.
  17. I’m assuming you’re going to say get the Klose? Any thoughts on models and customization?
  18. Interesting, but I already have a Lynx gas grill on my patio and have discovered that I only used the BGE for smoking. No interest in any type of combo unit right now unless I cave and get a BGE XL which I already know exactly how to use.
  19. I haven’t had Booker’s Rye but I’ve had a couple dozen ryes and this one isn’t that special.
  20. Cracked a WT Cornerstone Rye last night and give it a solid 6/10. You don’t need this on your shelf for $169.
  21. Alright, I cracked the lid on my BGE and I’m ready to step up to an offset/stick burner after 8 years of practice with lump on the BGE. Does anybody have any advice or input on the following three options? Lonestar Grillz https://lonestargrillz.com/collections/smokers/products/20-x-42-offset-smoker Lyfe Tyme Inc - 20l 20”x40” single lid offset https://www.lyfetyme.com/pricing/ Klose - 20”x42” without 1/2” firebox http://bbqpits.net/ These are all $1600-$1900 and I’m not really looking to go over $2k. I’ve had a hardon for the idea of a Klose forever, but the LSG actually looks like a better design with plate construction giving a lot more real estate inside compared to pipe. I’m also not wanting to wait forever to find a used Klose because football and smoking season is a week away and I need something to distract me from how pitiful USC will be this year.
  22. There are some decoders online if you want to hammer out the date. I picked a handle of 80 proof AN Turkey from ‘09 last year but haven’t thought of a reason to open it.
  23. Yeah, I’ve got a 114.4 proof open and it’s really good. I bought them every time I found them for $40 or under and used one or two in trades. It’s nothing like an older MGP or Barton rye, most comparable to Handy in that it’s young and hot-ish but packed with rye spice and citrus. It crushes even 10+ year Alberta ryes as well.
  24. I have a couple 1910s just chilling. Also a Stagg Jr 11, EHT SiB, ECBP and some WFE 4 yr if any of that strikes your fancy for the RHF.
