  1. I ate a burrito on BART
  2. Two points. I was looking up the tabs for Rock Lobster and read where he removed the bottom three strings. Second we took my then 16 year old daughter to see them when the played a show after a ATL braves games. The looks on her face were like, "Dad your kidding right". "These folks are weird". Priceless
  3. Joe definitely can still work those strings. I was worried his bottom plate (denture) was going to fly out though.
  4. you are fucking killing me
  5. every show I wanted to see at cool venues was on Sunday..the day we left. Until this year I have never been to Dallas. This was the third time this year and not a good (I like red dirt music) show was to be found. Next time, just straight to Austin
  6. yeah but my wife loves them..
  7. We flew from Florida to see the Eagles @ Jerry's World last weekend. First the Good, it was amazing how Vince Gill and Deacon Frey fit in so seamlessly. They played for about 3 hours and sound during most of the songs was outstanding. The sound during the "talking parts" was terrible. JW is just too big a place unless you drop serious coin for super seats. Nobody who worked there seemed to be in hurry about anything, whether it was getting a beer, mixing a drink or selling a t-shirt. I missed most of the opening act in line to get my wife a T-shirt. They were all nice but S L O W. It had to be huge revenue booster for Dallas. On Sunday we saw so many eagles tshirts. I guess the total revenue for JW was 20-35 million. Hotels and ubers and restaurants must have also made a killing. We were on the plane back to Florida with some folks who had gone and it was there 32 Eagles show. We had dinner at Javier's. Great experience for us. Lunch at Rodeo Goat, Drinks at Stirr in Deep Ellum and just a great time. Did the Book Depository tour. Seems like every time we drove in front of the building on Elm, I was sitting in back passenger seat...
  8. Javier's was perfect. Started the night at Stirr in Deep Ellum to get our drink on. Rodeo Goat is on tap for lunch today.
  9. I tried the clever both times. First time I got spooked stumbling around at the clever. Second time we had 70 mph winds at the clever. First time was RMI, second time IMG. I liked IMG and their plan much better. One thing I can vouch for is the chicks who guide are some the fittest women on the planet. Mt. Rainier is a real moutain. Wish I had gotten into climbing earlier. Guess that bastard will whip me

  12. Having tried to climb Rainier twice without success, be sure you have your Wheaties before heading up to Muir and know how to get up and more importantly how to get down. The real danger on Rainier is above Muir but if you get off the slog up to Muir and make a wrong turn it can be trouble. It isn't like you can see the trail all the way from Paradise to Muir. I guess I really didn't look around much I just followed the boots in front of me until we got close. The first time I tried the climb, we had snow pack from the bottom all the way. The second time the snow started about after an hour climb. The weather changes real quickly so be prepared. Have fun
  13. no reservations at Mi Cocina and Javier's can't seat a party of 8 until 9 pm...grr
  14. I must say the Monkey Bar aspect of Mi Cocina has me in a toss up with Javiers...
  15. OK..how about straight Tex-Mex. I like the look of the menu at Javiers as it is very different that places I have been. It is not 5 star priced, at least to me. We are going to Rodeo goat for burgers likely on Saturday.
  16. looks like Javier for dinner! Maybe Maso since it is much closer to where we are staying will check on Nova for brunch thanks Horns!
  17. Might as well though in a Sunday Brunch place...
  18. Hope to get one for father's day or a Gibson j-45 Custom of KTM-150! ( a man can dream can't he) I will buy one of those three if the fam doesn't come through.
  19. A group of ten of us are coming to Dallas for the Eagles Concert next Saturday. We are staying downtown. Thursday night we are going to Deep Ellum for drinks/apps. Need a rec for Friday night dinner. Looking for a place with upscale Tex/Mex or a place with good food and good music. I've been to the Rustic a couple of times. Last time it smelled like there was leaking sewer pipe. Liked the vibe but not the smell. Thanks
  20. Jason Eady and Courtney Patton in Switzerland...somebody has to do it.
  21. I have not found an acoustic guitar that has the sound of Jumbo Gibson. If you know of one that has that deep bass response and cost less, let me know. I have a Epi Masterbilt that is close but not totally there. I really want a J-45 Custom.
