  1. The argument isn't specifically that he will make more next year at USC than he would in the NFL, it's that he would make more with 1 year at USC then a rookie contract at a franchise that maximizes his value vs. coming out and going to a garbage franchise. Of course, the giant hole in that logic is there is no guarantee that a garbage franchise doesn't get the #1 pick next year too and then what? I think it's more for leverage in trying to get a team he doesn't want to trade away the #1 pick rather than "risk" him not playing or whatever. It reeks of his dad. I have nothing but love for Caleb, his dad sucks a bone.
  2. We got married in Allen and had Hutchins do ours, and it worked out phenomenally.
  3. I mean, if you ask the BLUEHAIRS
  4. Pair on Texas side on SeatGeet right now is $840 all in, including fees. Maybe you just suck at ticket shopping? Hell, some were sold on the Ticket Exchange board on this very site for $350/ea all in on the Texas side.
  5. Your post literally was "I can't afford seats I want, so I bought other seats, and now want to sit in the seats I can't afford." The cheapest pair of tickets on SeatGeek on the Texas side is about 80 bucks more expensive than the cheapest pair on the OU side. No, as a 40 year old person, 80 dollars shouldn't be so significant to you that you dramatically worsen not only your own experience, but everyone else's around you. Hey, I know, I don't wanna spend $24 for Deep Fried Pho, so I'll just spit on someone else's that just bought it and then take it from them! Don't like it, come on BLUEHAIR, get with it!
  6. This. I agree if anyone is mad about people standing, yelling, drinking, etc. that they are idiots and in the wrong and can go watch on TV. But you're goddamn right that if I spend hundreds of dollars apiece for tickets, I want myself (and my 70 year old dad and 16 year old kid) to be able to sit down during timeouts or a 20 minute halftime, etc., especially when it's 200 degrees already and don't need some guy sweating rotgut in our laps. Go to the seat you paid for. If you want a better seat, stop being poor.
  7. LOL at people being "bluehairs" because they don't want people stealing their already limited space. How many people do you think can wedge into a row beyond its actual seating numbers before it's too many? 2 is fine. 4? 6? If I bring a group of 12 and just smash in and someone's all pressed up on your fiancee, you gonna get pissy or gonna be chill?
  8. *my dad (who was probably high AF, it was mid-70's). And I think the aggy lot is if you go back to do it again, haha.
  9. One of my favorite OU-Texas stories, way back in the day my dad was going to the game and pulled into this long series of yards, pays the guy at entrance, then there's a string of guys who keep waving him forward, waving him forward, until finally the last guy just waves him back out into the street again. And to your point, sure, but lots of people park at a school or a church, etc., not really taking in the local culture, so to say.
  10. This. We had some people wedging into our row a few years ago and people couldn't sit down during timeouts etc because of it, and when we called them out on it, they acted like we were the assholes for trying to actually get what we had paid a premium for. GTFOH. I've sat on the Texas side in 1999 (my second OU/TX, was very drunk, by myself in that seat (my friends had already gotten tickets in OU side), and talked A LOT of shit when it was 17-0)), 2000, 2001, 2008, 2011, and on the 50ish in 1995 and one other year. Wife hates sitting on the opposite side, so I don't anymore, but it can really be fun, especially if you are around people who can have some goodnatured shittalking fun without devolving into violent cromags.
  11. I see this here and on the OU boards, and I don't understand why people pay $20+ to park offsite instead of just paying $20 to park in the fair lots like mdmost described above. Gated, secured, easy access.
  12. What game in recent history has Texas dominated but OU won other than 2021?
  13. You neg repped the clitoris doofus, get a grip
  14. What, specifically, does Wyoming do and how, specifically, does it affect the metrics?
  15. Most models have OU the slight underdog. And those models are used heavily in a multibillion dollar industry, it's pretty laughable that you think they are wholly unreliable. The biggest thing is of course that every team has a range of possible results, and so you get outlier outcomes when one team is at the far end of its range and the other is at the opposite end of theirs. Or individual fluky plays. But if OU and Texas could run this game a million times, the end result would be pretty close to 500k-500k. Tech-Wyoming pretty close to 800k-200k Tech.
  16. Wait I had it on good authority Wyoming got the piss beaten out of them. @Fumbles get in here! And predictive metrics are exactly about who is better and who would win going forward, not about evaluating resumes. I'm waiting for that explanation about how Wyoming's style of play confounds all the systems though.
  17. Yeah, man, that South Florida game was ugly as fuck, huh?
  18. When you said "For instance, Texas Tech is still ranked above Wyoming in almost every advanced metric by a good bit even though Wyoming beat them." If you agree Tech is better, then of course they should be higher in advanced metrics.
  19. Like you cherry picking Bama's ranking a month ago to argue out of your ass that Texas has the #1 SOS in the country? See you Saturday.
  20. We were discussing this last year over 7am Fair parking lot booze and gummies and decided it had to mean Gabriel was playing. If you could have assured me he wasn't taking snaps, I would have bet literally every penny of disposable income I had on Texas. Beville is legit the worst QB I've ever seen start for OU and I went there and attended every home game for the Schnelly and Blake years.
  21. So you have figured out a "style of play" loophole in advanced metrics that Sagarin, Connelly, Vegas, etc., are all blind to and unable to correct? Please describe exactly how Wyoming's style of play creates this conundrum. Does it bake in that their starting QB missed the Texas game? Also, if Tech and Wyoming played again, Tech would be favored again. Tech ran fairly bad to lose that game. I agree Wyoming isn't garbage, but if you play in the Cotton Bowl the way you did the first three quarters of that game, Texas will get their asses handed to them.
  22. Texas was -31 and won by 21. How many scores would you say 10 points is in football?
