  1. Definitely not at all what I said, but I understand you're not solely responding to my post in your answer.
  2. I understand what I am about to say is not the general Surly-styled reaction; but can a poster not simultaneously have belief that Sark will make a good hire AND also lament the fact that one of our best recruiters (one who holds immensely strategic ties to an area of the country we need to, and are, currently, recruiting well) is leaving? I also want to call out that I understand there is more to recruiting the southeast, specially metro Atlanta (the move to the SEC, NIL, winning, Texas' development and NFL draft placement trajectory, Sark's ties, Baker's ties, and more), than having TC on staff.
  3. That's fair. I'm with you there. But that's an entirely different point.
  4. Derka lauding Barnes' general ability to get the most out of his team during the regular season, play basketball with high IQ, and play tough defense, IS NOT the same thing as Derka saying we never should have let Barnes go, he needs to be rehired, etc. Don't read his posts on the subject if you don't want to, but also don't conflate his adoration for the man as him advocating for his rehire or something of the nature.
  5. While it’s a sign of a healthy program that coaches get promoted, there’s no other way to spin this: Choice leaving is a massive loss for national recruiting at the RB position, as well as recruiting in general in the southeast - especially metro Atlanta. Thankfully, Baker has ties there, but this one does hurt. My assumption is he (and his wife) want a lifestyle change given the young children - and that makes complete sense.
  6. I’m not disagreeing with anything you said; I would just love to know what your list is, especially given your ties.
  7. Lol. Solid work here.
  8. Yeah. That’s what I assume too.
  9. I wonder how long he’ll coach. 63 isn’t that old for a head coach, but I have no inside information regarding his desire or overall health. Regardless, I hope the man wins a title (as a HC) before he’s done. He’s one hell of a coach.
  10. Texas Tech commit locks in Texas official visit Texas Tech linebacker commit Tieson Ejiawoko (linked to 247 profile) (Georgetown, Texas/East View) tells OnTexasFootball that he has locked in an official visit to Texas in June. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound versatile linebacker with some similarities physically to Brad Spence in high school told OTF that his official visit to Texas is locked in for June 13-15th. Ejiawoko will follow up the Texas official visit with his OV to Texas Tech June 20-22. The Longhorns offered the Central Texas prospect January 25 following attending junior day. Since that time, he has been in contact with Johnny Nansen consistently. June official visit dates ... 11. What I learned from this is OU sucks
  12. That arm span is impressive. I'm sure his hands are large, but they're close to the camera. Yep. Relocated for work. He's choosing to finish high school in Florida.
  13. Another example that these guys don't proofread their content. SydneyCarton school of Journalism.
  14. Came here to say the same thing. Booker had a pretty good game overall, but not shooting wise (7-22, 31.8%). If she shoots marginally better, this was a double-digit win. Granted, SCar shot 36.8% as a team, which I’m sure is below their average. Texas played fantastic defense most of the game.
  15. I just don’t see OU outmatching us on NIL. Especially with how good the team is playing. Donors will have open wallets.
  16. It was insanely fun.
  17. It has to be Texas, right? No way Chavez spends four years in Norman. Austin will be way better for NIL and branding opportunities - let alone Vic has the program rolling.
  18. No, my original point was your current point. In ZTejas' original argument about Indiana versus Texas only, Texas produces more talent (clustered in Houston and Dallas). But, none of this has to do with firing RT, which I am still for haha
  19. Well, yeah. Texas is much bigger. That was the point. Historically, however, most of that top-end talent comes from Dallas and Houston. So, the geographical size isn't so important. It's that Texas has two giant cities compared to one (Indianapolis) that really moves the needle. However, plenty of diverse DI talent comes from all over both states. If we're comparing regions, I'm right there with you. The recruiting base for IU overall is a goldmine.
  20. Hell yes. I want to beat Darth Mulkey more than anything. I want nothing more than to send her home pissed off.
  21. What do you mean? SCar never led...
