  1. I have to believe the decision (to let him go or retain him) is already made. Save for a Sweet Sixteen run, he's likely gone. However, if Texas makes the tournament and advances in any fashion, I'll believe it when I see it that a coach who wins a tournament game in every season of his tenure will be let go. Then again, if the upgrade is so obvious, I could be wrong.
  2. Here's the OTF version:
  3. Looks like Pico's stuff is more spicy than mild: K:BB = 37:4 (0 HBPs) Whip = .72 with only 6 XBH allowed in 81 ABs with an opposing .160 B/Avg. Granted, he's faced Manhattan (7-8), Missouri State (5-10), Rice (2-14), and Queens (2-14), and both Rice and Queens got him for 3 runs apiece.
  4. They use a lot of colorful language and contrived victim scenarios to say, "We need to leave again so Texas doesn't keep beating us in everything."
  5. Good, we know how this inevitably ends for them then.
  6. Texas: Royal Ivey: can coach, would drive program support, but totally unproven at the college level. Brad Underwood: meh. Sean Miller: meh. Todd Golden: seems like a decent HC given his short career, but also might be a sexual predator. Will Wade: dirty as fuck, but the guy can coach. Unlikely we hire him. other top tier coaches via money whip:
  7. x She looks like a pretty (damn good) coach:
  8. Texas is the only remaining "non-chalk" seed.
  9. Tre's offensive arsenal is so deep. He hits difficult looks with ease.
  10. "We gotta rebound though," too
  11. Makes sense. Empty the tarp off in the outfield, drain, and disperse any puddles well ahead of time.
  12. For sure. Saturday appears to be a complete thunderstorm wash bookended by good weather on F/Sun. My only concern would be outfield conditions on Sunday, especially since it’s grass/dirt, but I would have to assume there’s a pretty good process in place given this is common in the SEC and it’s only projected to be an inch of rain. I know baseball but I don’t know much about baseball groundskeeping. Anyone here have more insight?
  13. This team isn't playing in the NIT. If (read: when) Texas misses the tournament and RT is fired, Texas won't accept an invite.
  14. And of course Gaspo tries to lay down a bunt now.
  15. Yeah. I should have been more clear.
  16. I’m probably wrong, but I don’t remember us bunting yet this season. Doesn’t really seem like it’s in Schloss’ playbook.
  17. Three in a row. That sequence may answer our question as to if the defense is improving. Especially after an errorless series this last weekend.
  18. Two fantastic defensive plays in a row.
  19. Definition of a slugger right there.
  20. This as a response never gets old.
  21. Finally someone who will engage my hypothetical. And again, y’all, I agree that given cumulative résumés of the five schools under consideration for a one seed, Texas should clearly get one. I would just really like to avoid UConn prior to the F4.
  22. I agree with you. I merely wanted to post the question to see what the ideal scenario may look like.
  23. Like many here, I believe the committee won't fall victim to recency bias, BUT what are the alternatives where a two seed makes more competitive sense for Texas? For instance, if we land a one seed but get UConn as our two, I'm not sure that's better than being the first two in USC's region.
