Do they come in mens sizes?

Can't speak to those, but you can build your own version of Chuck's at This link

Built mine last year, not in time for pride, and can't wait to have a reason to wear them this year.

  2. Well yeah.  They are ignoring that Walmart also has pride clothing.  They don't actually care about the merchandise, they care about having some targets to keep their outrage grift going.

  3. In junior high, we went on a class trip to Washington DC.  While we were at the Arlington National Cemetery, Hope pulled up with his wife in a limo and go out to use a payphone.  He interacted with all of us as if he had all the time in the world, then jumped back in his limo and took off.  That's my CSB about Bob Hope.

I also once saw Tiny Tim at the DFW airport.  I had no idea who that was, but my dad thought it was funny.

Well, you admitted to it, so there's that. Shit like that is why my employees get per diems when they are out of town. Not on expense reimbursements you don't.

As someone who worked with a per diem expense account vs a non per diem expense account, I can tell you I made a shit ton more money on the per diem. I’ll give you a for instance. With a per diem, I eat 2 meals a day, and I eat cheap. Let’s say the customer provides lunch during our workshop and then I go get subway or something for dinner. I spent $10 on food that day and I get to pocket $90 of the $100 per diem. Or, I have a much nicer meal on my non Per diem account for dinner. I don’t claim breakfast because I didn’t eat it and I don’t claim lunch because it was provided. So now I have $50 dinner and I walk home with $0 and the company saves $50. Of course I could throw in fake meals for less than $20 for breakfast and lunch and wind up with ~$40 cash, and the company still saves $10, but that, I agree, would be stealing. I picked $20 in this case because my current company requires receipts above $20.

Anyway, usually it’s cheaper for the company not to offer a per diem. Though I loved those per diem trips when I was traveling with a sales person and they picked up all the food bills, then I got to pocket the whole per diem every day. Oh, and final note, the company’s I’ve worked for offered the per diem for daily expenses, airfare/mileage, ground transportation and hotels were all handled outside that.

Well it is the upper end of the statutory max of 20 years.  So, in that context, it's not light.

That the max is 20 years is somewhat suspect.

On the other hand, I think 20 years should be the maximum sentence for all but the most heinous of crimes.

I think sedition qualifies as one of the most heinous crimes.

“At a Hernando County School Board meeting Tuesday, fifth-grade teacher Jenna Barbee alleges school board member Shannon Rodriguez reported her to DOE for showing her students Disney's 2022 movie ‘Strange World.’ It's the first Disney movie with an out, gay character.”

The next step will be to ban all the out, gay teachers.

They've already banned the out gay teachers.  They aren't allowed to have pictures of their S/O's on their desk or mention in any way that they are on the rainbow spectrum.  You can be a gay teacher in Florida, but you must stay in the closet to do so.

Minors can have mastectomies for non-gender-related reasons too. Should we ban those?

When people talk about gender surgery on minors, they are referring to vaginoplasties. Ask any MAGA piece of shit what they're talking about with gender surgery and they'll mention chopping dicks off (not what happens). That is what I was referring to, again, for the reason that mastectomies happen for many reasons.

Your faux concern about besides-the-point semantic accuracy is noted, though.

Meanwhile, Texas is in the bottom 10 of the country in the number of babies that get circumcised.  We only cut off part of the dicks of half the male babies born here.  So to be clear we aren't against genital mutilation in Texas, or even putting knives on dicks.  It's only certain types of genital surgeries that are supposed to be off limits. So even the MAGA way of describing it doesn't get to the heart of why they are against it, because I bet 90% of their male children were circumcised when they were babies.

Is this gonna be like one of those playoff bets where Abbott and DeSantis pledge a Texas brisket/crate of Florida oranges for whoever gets the most mass shootings before their term is up?

DeSantis won't be able to pay up on that bet, because he's made sure all the fruit pickers left the state.

it still fucking amazes me those dumb fucke went to over throw the govt and didn’t think to cover up their faces and shield their eyes

Why?  My experience is this group loudly proclaims they are patriotic while doing just the opposite.  Back then, the patriotic thing to do was to help protect your neighbors by wearing a face covering, so of course they weren't going to do that.  Also, back then the patriotic thing to do was to honor the results of the election, and obviously they weren't going to do that either.  These people are not patriots and they take every opportunity they can to prove it.

  10. The most shameless defense of unethical behavior I think I've ever seen:

“Harlan Crow has long been passionate about the importance of quality education and giving back to those less fortunate, especially at-risk youth,” the statement said. “It’s disappointing that those with partisan political interests would try to turn helping at-risk youth with tuition assistance into something nefarious or political.” The statement added that Crow and his wife have “supported many young Americans” at a “variety of schools, including his alma mater.” Crow went to Randolph-Macon Academy.

So tell me how Clarence Thomas is the legal guardian of a child (from 6 years old) who is both less fortunate and at risk.  Make that make sense to me.

Uh, no judging...but showing up to your second date with anyone, regardless of sexual preference, in a rented U-Haul is creepy as fuck.

"Hey, I really enjoyed our dinner and movie last week.  Perhaps you'd like to see inside of this here panel truck with a mural of Montana on the sides, (I say in a not so creepy manner)..."

There is little value to sharing my personal views here of specific policies I don’t like from each party, because I won’t change any minds. We’ve all learned that lesson.

I do believe one party on the whole is far more reasonable right now than the other, but no point in getting into it. The purpose of the PACs is to get people in government who are less influenced by the money donors with clear agendas, and not on any specific issue. I will/would contribute to that type of PAC.

I'm not giving a single dollar to someone who can't get more descript in what they stand for than "Smart people with common sense."  What would this PAC stand for explicitly?

I would, but I'm highly skeptical whether that would work at all.  People on the right WANT to be lied to.  I don't know if bringing visibility to disinformation would make a damn bit of difference.

Yep.  I used to be included in FWD FWD FWD chains from my mom.  When I started pointing out the inaccuracies in those FWD FWD FWD chains, she didn't change her mind, she just stopped including me in them.  This sums up my experience with trying to change the minds of 99% of the people on the right.  They don't care about truth, they care about narrative.  If you can tell a good enough story, you can be completely fact free and will be considered a truth teller.

A minor update to this topic full of very few good ideas - some very wealthy folks are seriously considering massive PAC's to start shaping political races for candidates who aren't wack jobs from the right, or pussies from the left. In other words, helping normal people who truly want to help this country and aren't worthless.  Novel concept.

Is the PAC hiring security for these super smart people? Because we're seeing more and more people like you describe leave politics because they are tired of fielding the threats of violence against them and their families.
