so corrupt and makes me wonder how every ruling Thomas is involved with doesn't fall under suspicion
I mean, if we ever pull out of this death spiral and get some non-partisans back on the Supreme Court, I think there's a pretty sound basis for just saying "fuck your stare decisis for all decisions made where Thomas and Alito were part of a < 7-vote majority, given they are bought and paid for."

Which is something that is always a concern in trying to get 12 people on a jury on the same page.
Yeah, with that backdrop, the decision not to indict Ladybugs, Loeffler and Perdue makes some sense, given it didn't seem to be just 1 or 2 ultra MAGAs that had doubts about including them, it was 4+ of 21. Flynn and Epshteyn should have been included, though.

JFC. Are they going to set up road blocks? What the hell is going on? This is ludicrous.
Wasn't there an ad a while back predicting this - i.e., with police pulling over a mother and teen daughter asking about where they were traveling and why? I can totally see some ex-Iowa Colony cops getting hired by religious border towns to start doing this shit. It's a brave new (dystopian) world.

Just a reminder ...
"So knock on wood, we won't have a big storm this summer ..." What's that?
Bro is not having a good summer. Good luck to the fine people of Florida, and watch out for those leopards eating peoples faces. Plus, please remember you don't want any of that federal intrusion after the storm rolls through.

Absolutely infuriating. Out by Lake Travis, yellow on the radar, wind starts whipping our withering trees around, and about 6 drops of rain. Then ...
Just getting toyed with at this point.

This is just a monumentally shitty legal take, seemingly aimed at owning the libs by turning a pro-environment concept against them. Once again, conservatives show that they really suck at analogies. In short:

The plea doesn't seem to be quite as nefarious as I had expected based on the chatter:
QuoteAs part of his plea, McGonigal admitted that he took money from Deripaska to collect open-source derogatory information about Vladimir Potanin — a Deripaska competitor — and could have received over $650,000 had he successfully found and produced the location of $500 million in hidden Potanin assets.
Not to say that he wasn't also up to other sketchy shit on behalf of Deripaska (and by extenson Putin), but he may just be a greedy fuck and not an outright traitor.

Per Kaitlin Jenner - they’re coming after the people watching us on tv next !
I flipped over to Fox a few times during the wait. That's one of their prime talking points that all of their regulars (Lyin' Ted, Jenner, Tomi Lahren, etc.) have been spouting tonight. Expect it to be their mantra in the coming weeks.

The damages were mostly punitive--$3.5 in punitives against Southwest and $1.0 in punitives against TWU. Only $500K in direct and compensatory damages. Which raises some due-process issues.
Yeah, you should. I wonder how Mark's doing these days.
Yeah--I would, too (minus the hashtag, because I try not to go around unnecessarily pissing off federal judges).
Didn't Starr actually already reduce the damages? See link below:
Judge reduces award for flight attendant who sued Southwest | AP News
QuoteA Dallas jury ruled in Carter’s favor in July, deciding that Southwest should pay Carter $4.15 million and the union should pay $950,000.
The judge this week reduced that award to $300,000 in compensatory and punitive damages from Southwest and $300,000 from the union, $150,000 in back pay and about $60,000 in interest.
I guess the federal limits are so clear that even this knob didn't think he could let them stand, but he still wanted to make his point in other ways.
