  1. Texas is the #2 overall seed, about it so far
  2. Well so much for a reward for being #1 lol
  3. You can poke holes in all their resume’s, that’s why these teams are on the bubble. You pointed at Kentucky’s non conference SOS as a weakness (which it is) then tried to put teams with worse non conference SOS ahead of them. So what criteria are we using? The one that supports whatever team I want in? Kentucky has 8 Q1 wins UTRGV, SELa, and Virginia have 7 combined between the 3 of them and only UTRGV has a better non conference SOS. You can go deep into the weeds on these arguments down to any detail you would like. Like the fact that sure Kentucky got swept by Vanderbilt in Nashville, but they lost all 3 games by a combined 4 runs. They lost 2 one run games to Auburn. So sure they are 3-9 against the top 4 teams in the RPI but 7 of those losses were by a combined 10 runs. Im not going to lose an ounce of sleep if Kentucky gets left out of the field but I think it’s disingenuous to say they aren’t deserving, at least relative to the teams they are being compared to. You aren’t facing Kade Anderson, Liam Doyle, and Kyson Witherspoon in the Southland. I said Virginia dodged 4 of the top 7 because you can’t judge them for a series they did not play. They finished 63rd in the RPI with an 18-17 record against Q1-Q3 opponents. They could’ve swept Florida State or they could’ve gotten swept, we will never know, so they are what they are. 2nd best day of the year tomorrow, second only to opening day of college baseball. We will find out tomorrow.
  4. What has Virginia done? Virginia dodged 4 of the top 7 teams in the ACC not including themselves then lost day 1 in the ACC tourney to Boston College who finished 28-29. Non conference SOS is worse than Kentucky’s Cal Poly is in SELa has a worse non conference SOS than Kentucky. Both them and UTRGV got to host brackets for their conference tournament and neither made it out of their bracket. They are a combined 2-9 in Q1 games. Xavier is the poster child for gaming the RPI. Hard to compare results against similar opponents in Baseball because the game can be random. These bubble arguments always come down to the same debate every year. Is it more impressive to go 22-8 in the Southland or 13-17 in the SEC. Would UTRGV and SELa finish better than 13-17 in the SEC? Would Kentucky finish better than 22-8 in the Southland? We will never know.
  5. Wouldn’t necessarily call it a stolen bid but Cal Poly wins the Big West tourney, not giving the committee a chance to leave them out
  6. TCU couldn’t have foreseen just how much they would lament not winning that Southern Miss series back at the beginning of March. Was likely the difference
  7. Rob Childress, current pitching coach at Nebraska, just helped engineer a shutout to beat UCLA and get Nebraska in the tournament. Have to wonder if the aggies give him a call. Only 56 years old, still some quality years left
  8. Bubble just got a little smaller with Nebraska winning the B1G tourney
  9. Those are all things I already know. Now find a team behind them not projected in the field that is more deserving. Only team right now that might not get in that is projected to get the short end of the stick is Cal Poly (RPI 30) but they play tonight an have a shot to snag the auto bid in the Big West
  10. Kentucky will and should get in, there aren’t enough teams behind them that are more deserving
  11. Nebraska up 3-0 early, potential stolen bid there
  12. Southern Miss is a team to watch today. If they win the Sun Belt tourney against Coastal Carolina today it will be hard not to give them a host.
  13. I know Virginia had that series against Florida State canceled but I don’t see how you can put them in the field. Ended up dodging 4 of the top 7 in the ACC because of scheduling and cancellation of FSU series. 63rd in the RPI, 5-6 in Q1 games, 243rd ranked non conference SOS. Had a chance to stack some wins in the tournament and you lose day 1 to a Boston College team that finished 28-29
  14. I still think Texas will be #1 but Vandy has a legit case
  15. I feel like I’m watching Kyle Hendricks when Connor Fennell pitches
  16. Yeah that would not be ideal. I can generally get a good feel for what the committee is going to do hosting wise but super conferences have kinda clouded the picture. Big 12 is still the #3 RPI conference this year yet D1 isn’t projecting them to get a host. Have the Sun Belt getting 2 (which doesn’t make sense to me). Southern Miss took 2/3 from TCU so that is probably hindering TCU’s chances. Given the Sun Belt’s lack of depth this year and the fact that Southern Miss and Coastal Carolina didn’t play each other makes it hard for me to see them getting 2 and boxing out the Big 12
  17. https://d1baseball.com/stories/2025-d1baseball-field-of-64-projections-may-23/ Wont get a better regional than that Pretty brutal if North Carolina gets an Oklahoma team that can just save Kyson for game 2
  18. Pitching is the furthest thing from my concern. Jalin Flores and Will Gasparino were two guys that you were expecting to anchor the top half of your lineup and they have been the two worst qualified hitters on the team. Jalin we are pretty much stuck with. If Jonah is able to go in the Regional I honestly think you will see Jonah-Farmer-Belyeu in the outfield and Will on the bench Jonah and Belyeu are going to have to step up big time.
  19. We can go down the hypothetical rabbit hole all day long, it goes nowhere. A Regional, Super Regional, and the CWS are all different. If you host a Regional you often get a Tuesday night opponent so you can pitch off. A Super Regional is a traditional 3 game series. In Omaha you get days off As far as your hypothetical two wins from a title, it’s not even possible to have a fully rested Riojas and Harrison even with the off days unless one of them got blown up in their start and yanked early so you could use them later. In that event we are likely in the losers bracket Flores booted a double play, and the bullpen didn’t have their best. On to the regional. That simple
  20. Yeah an 83 mph fastball is pretty hard to blow by people. Point being he was effective. Only arm that we threw today that we haven’t relied on was Ethan Walker and from a production standpoint he performed the best. Im not worried about the loss at all, just blows my mind the shit that people make up
  21. Ethan Walker allowed 2 base runners. The only reason they were earned is because a score keeper is never going to assume a double play. You want to know who the top 4 bullpen arms in terms of innings pitched were in conference play this season? Grubbs, Volantis, Burns, and Saunier. Some of yall just don’t pay attention. Ethan Walker was the only wildcard of the day and he shut them down
  22. The amount of people saying that who we threw in that game is the reason we lost is laughable
  23. Jalin Flores was by far and away your worst everyday hitter in conference play. Will Gasparino played his way to the bench. Jared Spencer went down for the season. Max Belyeu missed most of conference play. Still won the SEC by 2 games, get ready for the regional
