  1. They're awful. Don't know anyone who can stand to listen to them lol. One is a Notre Dame guy.
  2. Grant Morgan and Jalen Catalon were our best defensive players. One was an all-american and the other might be a 1st-2nd round draft pick next year. Jonathan Marshall was definitely our best DL though. DL is probably the biggest weakness on the team which is why we brought in 3 transfers there.
  3. Really wish the Texas Bowl last year wasn't canceled because TCU would have been a good barometer for Arkansas against the Big 12. It's pretty clear we're improved from the Morris era and were a cunt hair away from beating both Auburn and LSU last year (bad officiating in both) but 3-7 is still 3-7 I guess. Even A&M we only lost by 11 on the road which isn't too terrible with a first-year coach since they were a top 5 team. But then Alabama it wasn't remotely close at any point in the game which is to be expected. Georgia also put it on us after we led at the half...we're obviously not up to competing at that level of talent yet. If we improve in Pittman's 2nd year I could see us closing out some of those close games and the record looking a lot better but that's not a guarantee. If you look at the "talent" judging by preseason all-SEC selections we only have two fewer picks than LSU (one of theirs being a kicker) and one fewer than A&M. We're also tied with Ole Miss yet they're picked two spots higher than us in the division, but one of theirs being the QB goes a long way. So I don't think we're lagging behind in talent as much as we have been but still have quite a way to go.

    SEC BASEBALL

Not sure but seems like we're getting into semantics at that point
  5. The SEC Rant gets about 5x more active during football season too. It's a bit too much to keep up with. The game threads can be entertaining though. And they have some solid sub-forums other than the politics board which is about what you'd expect.
  6. Hogville is very active but there are a lot of idiots on there. Moderation is strict on disagreeing with them or talking bad about the team/players. It's pretty polarizing. Here are some of the most active from other SEC schools: Mississippi State: EliteDawgs.com and Sixpackspeak.com are both pretty solid Florida: gatorcountry.com Kentucky: catsillustrated.com (Rivals) Tennessee: Volnation.com Auburn: aufamily.com
  7. Haha it's a row of chairback seats on the very front row of the upper level. For some people it's their favorite seat in the stadium for the price. Hog Heaven is actually what we call our on-campus team store, guess they didn't want to confuse the two. Only so many pork puns out there.
  8. Air Force-Navy on 9/11 may be one to watch out for too
  9. Every year that goes by I'm not sure if Tennessee will ever get back to what they were. Kentucky has been a better program lately which I never thought would be possible in football. Honestly not much difference between Tennessee and Arkansas at this point except Arkansas had success in the 60's-70's and Tennessee did in the 90's - couple decades difference 30+ years ago.
  10. Arkansas only had one player voted all-SEC, Moses Moody. It's not like we had a Kentucky roster with multiple first round picks. Light years inferior is a bit of a stretch.

    SEC BASEBALL

Yeah we've been to plenty of CWS over the last 15 years but haven't won one. Though Mississippi State had been using Omadawgs even before this year when they hadn't won one either.
  12. It helps that there were no P5 teams on the OOC schedule since Arkansas got a waiver for Michigan backing out of a H/H series. Not often you'd get Missouri and Kentucky both from the East in the same year under the old format either. Really speaks to how awful of a coach that Morris was that he couldn't go better than 2-10 against maybe the easiest schedule we've had in decades though. Pittman last year got Georgia and Florida added and didn't have a Portland State or San Jose State and still won more than that.
  13. This sounds like a nightmare for Arkansas lol. But I guess as long as we don't have to play Alabama every year it's not like the schedule can get much harder. Wouldn't mind having Missouri instead of A&M...but we haven't been able to beat either one recently anyway.
  14. Yeah Arkansas is different than most states since basically the whole state only follows one team but it seems like fans are getting tired of "neutral" site games in college football as a whole. I would probably go with either Farrell's, Foghorns, or JJ's Grill for places to watch a game. A lot of the bars on Dickson don't really get hopping until after 9 when the college students really get out. Yeehawg is one I used to frequent since there are several food trucks nearby but they don't have many TVs and it's a bit cramped for game watching. For spots near the football stadium, Razorback Gardens is usually pretty popular for tailgating - it's a little further south across from Bud Walton Arena. There are some spots in Victory Village by the Greek houses directly across the road from the stadium but I believe those you have to pay for. Honestly it's been a while since I've actually tailgated though!
  15. It's gone from having multiple games per year there, to one SEC game, to now UAPB. In the latest contract they put in language to where the stadium has to upgrade the facility to a certain point by a set date or the UA could void it. It may not be any time soon but there is definitely movement toward more of a focus on games in Fayetteville now that Frank Broyles has passed. A few years ago there was talk of only having a game there every other year and letting them host the Spring Game on the off years instead. It's fine for basketball and baseball but football there are just too few games for it to make sense IMO. Between that and finally deciding to play other in-state teams the athletic department now is getting rid of a lot of old, out-of-date policies piece by piece which is probably needed.
  16. Yeah it's about 3 hours. We're slowly getting away from playing games there but for a long time it was the political and economic center of the state back before northwest Arkansas grew into what it is now. It allowed our southern and eastern Arkansas fans to get to games a lot easier and became a tradition of sort of unifying the state by giving everyone a chance to see a game. Also there was a period where Razorback Stadium didn't have lights so we were forced to play night games in Little Rock. The LR stadium is a shithole in comparison and we lose an on-campus recruiting weekend when we play there, on top of already losing one every other year by playing A&M in Arlington which leaves some years where we only get like 2 SEC games in Fayetteville. We'll probably continue to play an FCS game there every year just for Little Rock recruiting purposes and to appease some of the big money boosters who are still based out of central Arkansas. But it doesn't make sense anymore to play SEC games there instead of Fayetteville.
  17. In Arkansas in particular it is a bit different too since there are no other P5 teams or pro teams in the state. 99% of the time if you grow up in Arkansas you're raised a Razorback fan over anything else. There is a noticeable difference in most of the fans at our Little Rock games compared to the ones in Fayetteville. NWA fans are typically older, mostly alumni and there are more transplants and Walmart vendors in the suites just there to have a good time. Whereas there are a lot of south Arkansas and central Arkansas fans that are loud and drunk rednecks who will get in fights on a golf course in their camo, but they do make for a fun atmosphere I guess since they have more of a rooting interest haha. Sometimes you need those kind of fans to get into the game and counteract the blue-haired rich types that sit on their hands most of the game.
  18. Really wish the Texas Bowl against TCU last year hadn't been canceled because it would have been interesting to see how we fared against a Big 12 team as a point of reference. Not claiming we're great but in a normal year last year if not for an incorrect call by the officials at the end of the Auburn game we were a 7-5 team most likely. We'll be an underdog for sure but we're not the 2-10 doormat under Morris that would just lay down. I expect it to be pretty competitive. We got the short end of the stick having Georgia and Florida added to our schedule last year, hardest possible schedule the SEC could give us and by far the most difficult one in the country.
  19. As long as nearly half of the UA student body comes from the state of Texas I think some of that will always be there. But hating Texas isn't exactly unique to Arkansas lol. Doing the horns down thing is just an easy gesture to mock for any fanbase. Our baseball player that did it during our game earlier this year is from just outside of Longview.
  20. Yeah last year we finally showed a bit of fight and the light at the end of the tunnel from the Chad Morris era but still have a long way to go. Crazy the level we've fallen to since Petrino's wreck. Don't think many Arkansas fans could have predicted this extent of prolonged suckage.
  21. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at a G5. He burned a lot of bridges on his way out of Arkansas and honestly his rating mostly came from his camp performances, he wasn't really that good in high school. He's pretty soft - Pittman seems to prefer road grader types. 4* Ty'keist Crawford and 4* Marcus Henderson are probably the future at tackle.
  22. Honestly thought it was closer to 50% these days. You can tell some are trying to make Fayetteville a mini-Austin type vibe. Right now on the 3rd party sites you can buy a ticket to the Arkansas-Texas game for around the same price that you can buy an Arkansas season ticket in the shitty seats. This may sound weird but if you don't care where you sit or being surrounded with Hog fans then it might not be a bad idea to buy the whole season and then try to sell the other games and make some money back. Prices may go down closer to the game but I wouldn't guarantee it. This is probably the most anticipated OOC game in Fayetteville since USC in 2006.
  23. That is a terrible picture of Sam. Yeah they could have used a photo of him without an upper decker in lol
  24. Per an arkie friend, he got in an argument at the spring game with his coach. So he grabbed his bat and ball and went to Norman. Apparently OU tried to come after Treylon Burks (the #1 receiver and one of the best in the SEC) first but he said no so they moved on to Woods. Probably wants to play in a more pass-happy offense and Rattler is a more established QB. The timing was definitely weird though and this new rule is going to make it even harder for mid to lower tier schools to compete if teams like Alabama, etc. can just poach their best players every year with no recourse for tampering. Funny thing is the guy who replaces Woods is most likely Jaqualyn Crawford who transferred from Oklahoma to Arkansas last offseason and sat out last year.
