    Why?

Clemson will do the bare minimum to get out of there with a win. No sense leaving high value players in there to slip and slide around and tweak a hamstring while ahead three touchdowns.

Before the forecast was Biblical rain, I said Clemson would win 38-34. It's hard to imagine a shootout in a downpour, but I still think A&M covers. They're not devoid of talent and they'll shoot their 2018 wad tonight while Clemson will be eager to just get back on the plane and get out of there.

That was fucking amazing game. Ricky kept knocking their players out of the game as he ran over them. I think he knocked 3 or 4 players out of the game. Was there with an MSU friend of mine and enjoyed the hell out of it since he grew up an aggy (loving Jackie and RC) and ended up going to school at MSU.

Ricky should have sat that game out, it was a meaningless bowl game and he could have hurt his NFL career by getting injured

Unfortunately I think you are correct on your predictions. I saw several bright spots in the 1st half that any decent coach could use with a rope-a-dope strategy to keep it close.

Mond looked good to me. The fact that He is starting to throw better coupled with his ability to get out of trouble should save a few drives. That pass at the end of the 2nd quarter to the WR in end zone on a post was perfectly placed. His WR was flat out horrible on that play and should probably be given smallpox for dropping that shit.

They are going to be insufferable until about mid October.

Yes, it will take more than the 52-13 loss to Alabama before they start questioning their lil coach. They will give up about 600 yards and another 50 points to Arkansas, but that probably won't do it either. I expect they'll explain away the Arkansas game with some nefarious and confusing story about the officiating.

The sheep-fucking honeymoon will be over if a) they lose to Kentucky, which I think is unlikely but not impossible, or b) lose all three of South Carolina, Mississippi State, and Auburn (the SEC really fucked them making them go to all three consecutively). I am confident they will lose all three of those roadies, so that's when I'm predicting they start bitching about Fisher's staff (but not Fisher himself, that kind of self awareness is a bridge too far for Aggies in Year 1). But if they lose to Kentucky at home, ouch. That will take the shine off of Fisher's tiny little nuts straight away.

  4. I said 63-13 so that's about right. Next week they will give Clemson a baffingly good game but lose, 38-34, and the playoff hype will begin fo realz. They'll beat Louisiana-Monroe 42-24 and the rollercoaster will peak leading up to the Bama game.

THAT is when they will get their panties pushed up their rectums.

Well, let’s just say that they have been humiliated enough by Texas to last them,  oh about 100 years!

I stopped reading Burnt Orange Nation a while ago, do they still look up to everything A&M ever does? They were insufferable with the "ZOMG the sky is falling Kevin Sumlin SEC Johnny Football Swagcopter Renovated Kyle FIeld SEC SEC!!!" fuckshit about five years ago.

  6. "

Herman tipped off McMurphy after he was angry that Zach Smith and OSU won out on a WR recruit over Texas."

I get so sick of hearing this. The kid's not Vince Young. He's not going to make or break a program. He's not someone coaches are going to burn bridges over.

Can someone explain to me why they now count yardage from bowl games for the single season record now...but won't retroactively add yardage from bowl games to previous player's seasons?  (Barry Sanders and others)

Is it that they just want to see 'single season' records broken?    ...as if it wasn't enough they play 12 games instead of 11 now.

I absolutely think they should retroactively do it, and as soon as that becomes the official standard, I'll start using it, but yeah, bowl games prior to 2002 aren't counted and thus Sanders' total is 2628 not 2850

It's sort of splitting hairs, at least in terms of "Does it matter to Sanders' stature", nope, the motherfucker was the best

  8. from the article

In '88, Sanders didn't rewrite the records books, he incinerated them. He rushed for 2,850 yards, scored 44 touchdowns"

no, he didn't, because bowl games didn't count at that point. until the NCAA retroactively says "OK all bowl game stats count", it's fucking confusing to change famous numbers like 2,628. it would be like saying Roger Maris hit 58 home runs in 1961 because I think the 154-game schedule is more legit than the 162-game schedule

    Eddie George?

Exekiel Elliot was better than him IMO

What about Saquon Barkley? You don't see many guys who are legit MVPs anymore at that position, the Alabama Heisman winners have just been caretaker backs  meaning oyu could have subbed in their backups and not been any less likely to win.

Reggie Bush was pretty damned good, even with the hype.

That shit looks tacky and is borderline shameful. At least aggy had excuses for why their shit looks like Dick. This looks like if UH hit the PowerBall.

    Have some fucking class Belmont.

I guess the whole “we’re Texas” thing is over.

oh boo fucking hoo, I don't like the tiny scrunched-up JPG of the artist's rendering of what the stadium might look like, we're as bad as A&M

We got a real cotillion of the best Surly has to offer on this thread, between the Grey Poupon/bespoke suit crowd and the MAKE EEYIT LOUDR'N A MONSTER TRUCK ROLLY goons

design flaws that make DKR almost impossible to be a place visitors hate to visit.

The only thing that makes DKR a place visitors hate to visit is raising our talent level to where it was in the mid/late 00s. We don't need a fucking architectural overhaul to accomplish that, we just need a big, fast, mean football team.

Nice jungle gym of a sentence by the way.

    Looks like shit.

Keep it simple.  Bowl it up.

We have $$$$--- invest it in a nice stadium (see rantanamo's rendering).

And what's all this  cost-cutting talk?  Are we rich (bitch) or not?

What's the point of being #1 in revenue when fuckers are cutting coupons to build this shit?

    It sucks, this rendering.

anyone who doesn't want to expand it to 500,000 no a MILLION is a fucking pussy

Y'all ever think that it's just not that tOSU, PSU, and Baylor fans are idiots... Dare I say that if this happened to UT some of us might behave in the same way? BTW, this is in no way an excuse for how they are behaving (they are indeed abhorrent behaviors), I'm just more curious if this is less about "those depraved Ohioans (or Wacos)" and more an indictment of humans' tendency for blind allegiance to "our people"?

Dude, we've won one national championship since 1970 and two conference titles since 1997. If we didn't have moral high ground to look down on other programs, life on the message boards would be pretty painful. Trust me, we'll go to any lengths to preserve it. High standards are important but in the heat of the moment, we'll be willing to employ delusion too.
