  1. I like the take based on highlights and measurables. I’m guessing he hasn’t hit the camp circuit. Offer list isn’t impressive, but his film is. Hopefully his 3* rating will make him hungry and coachable.
  2. Yep. Charles ran the 100 and 300 hurdles, too, just like Lewis. Eerie. Still cracks me up to think about everything Peanut did with his life. He’s an FBI agent now. He was a goofy bastard in high school, and he’s been doing that punch since he was a kid. He wasn’t the most aggressive hitter, so he’d kinda catch the ball carrier and punch at the same time. Hilarious to me to see him do it on TV and set records with it. Anyway, when Charles started playing as a sophomore, he would look like he was out of position and then end up picking the ball off. I’ve never seen instincts like his. He was like a magnet for the ball. I see the same thing when I watch the first couple minutes of Lewis’s film. Again, Charles worked his ass off, but if this kid has a chip on his shoulder, I love the offer.
  3. He reminds me of a guy I played with in high school named Charles Tillman. Dude started at safety in a cover two scheme and just had a nose for the ball. Tall and skinny. Moved to cornerback and got no looks from big schools. Went to Louisiana Lafayette and then got drafted by the Bears 34th overall to cover Randy Moss. Covered Roy Williams in college and completely shut him down. Not saying this guy will turn out the same, but their style of play and instincts are eerily similar.
  4. I was there. I can vouch. Tex Pete literally did his best impression of a regarded Adrian Peterson with a high ankle sprain as he gimped into the middle of the Ou band, which was marching through the midway into the stadium before the game. And when I say, the middle, I mean trombones in his face and flutes in his ass. He could not have been more in the middle the band. We had outstanding seats, so Larry Burdine could hear Pete clearly during timeouts as Pete yelled, “Do you see what happens, Larry? Do you see what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass?!?!” He was in rare form. It was glorious.
  5. Actually, Mack was notorious for not accepting commitments until after the current recruiting class signed. He would’ve made Owens wait until at least December.
  6. Seems like this kid has been pretty openly positive about us recently.
  7. Yeah, those aren’t 3* highlights. Kid blows people up and moves great. Good lower half, too. He’ll put on weight.
  8. We think this is Murphy-related? http://www.hudl.com/video/3/11725090/5f98353fa018690b18eef15e
  9. Fair request. Done.
  10. Yes, I’ve thought about that, but from the way the conversation went, it sounded like the kid had grown up scarlet and gray. He and Drayton were from the same part of Ohio and knew a lot of the same people. It was literally almost all they talked about. You’d think if there had been interest in us, he might’ve shown it. That being said, I have no doubt we could’ve done a better job leading up to that. I’m not here to defend Tom or Meh. They gave us no shot. I just don’t think it would’ve mattered. He committed to Ohio State in either April or May of his junior year, going off of memory. This visit happened a few weeks before that, so we’re not super early in the recruiting cycle, but we’re not incredibly late, either. Seems early enough that a kid who was weighing his options and wanted to stay home might have let things play out a bit.
  11. Yes, I’m full of shit just like you’re elbow deep in your own asshole. We’re on the same page.
  12. I am not Stan Drayton. For me to know this information, though, I’d have to either 1) be Stan Drayton (again, I’m not); 2) have been there in person; or 3) have heard the story directly from Stan Drayton. I can assure you I fall in one of those categories. You telling someone he’s full of shit... Oh, the irony.
  13. Well, they’re actually playing football in Norman, but I get your point.
  14. It’s absolutely true. His family member might’ve told you that to take a dig at us, but when the kid is on his Texas visit openly saying, “Oh, this is coach Drayton. You’re the guy Urban kept telling me about!” and then he spends the whole visit talking to Drayton about Ohio State and Ohio, the writing is on the wall. That’s how the entire visit went. Drayton tried to redirect the conversation and Wilson kept bringing it back to OSU. It was never happening.
  15. Wilson was never coming to Texas. Herman didn’t help, but that kid was all tOSU. He spent his entire visit to campus talking to Stan Drayton about Ohio State. It was never going to happen.
  16. Nice to beat them at something, if only just barely.
