I think it's less spoil the moment (he already had that announcing the first time) and more don't fan the flames of speculation while he and his family finalize their decision or work through some of the logistics of a potential transfer.

    Check the old sarcasm meter.

Do people not read the last few posts before they post duplicate information? It aint that hard folks!

Maybe you haven’t noticed the rapid pace at which the thread is growing. By the time I’ve typed this, I expect I will have missed at least 10 posts.

Oh I think it pretty obviously is Junior Day #1 and it was an intentional tactical decision not to publicize it as such so Fisher would be left holding his dick in his hand instead of having time to develop his own countermove.

Hopefully we’ve learned a lesson from the Leal disaster.

I like the staff's aggression to push forward with the next cycle this year.

This visitor list is basically a who's who of our priority in-state targets aside from defensive backs and Evans (plus Collins and Princely, who were here last weekend).

I like it, too. And I like that there wasn’t an announced “Junior Day” so other schools couldn’t plan a response. I love how subtly our staff collected many of our top targets who might be early Texas leans without much prior fanfare. Could be a huge weekend.

How old was Murray? How highly rated was he as a recruit? How long has he been at OU working under Riley? How experienced was his OL? How experienced will the be next season?

Saying they have a lot to figure out is not saying they will be bad. It’s thinking they won’t be historically good.

I agree it’s highly unlikely. I just remember not being concerned about Murray because he didn’t do anything at aggy. Now they’re getting optimistic about Hurts, although I will agree I’ll be shocked if Riley can turn him into a passing threat.

he had 1 rushing attempt for 2 yards (went for a TD) - for comparison Watson had 12, Danny Young had 8, Ehlinger had 7, Ingram had 6 and Jamison had 2. Porter literally had the fewest rushing attempts of anyone on the team.

he had 3 catches for 10 yards.

those were his season stats. all in the Maryland game.

he didn't play "significant" snaps then.

I think he was actually on the field many more times than he touched the ball. Part of the problem with Porter, if memory serves, was that he was great in pass pro, but sucked with the ball. When he was on the field, the defense didn’t respect him as a potential threat. He was either run blocking or picking up the pass rush. But he got snaps and tipped off the defense in the process, regrettably.

How about this prediction. One of the reasons (besides Whittington) we aren’t moving forward with Glass is that Porter stays. And.......he not only plays significant snaps next fall........he actually becomes a solid contributor.

You’re going to hell for saying that.

KK fucked it up. Why hook up with USC when you're exploring other options?

I heard he’s actually being looked at for HC positions (Arizona and the Jets). I’m guessing even he never imagined that would happen with the NFL.

I thought my post was inimitable.  But your post is an illustration that my illation was merely an imprecation.

Impressive. Had to look up illation and imprecation. Incredibly, no, the intimidation implication roused intrigue, imagination and inspiration.

Apologies to the board for the irritation.

    Yes

And I guess I should hedge a little by saying this conversation was last spring and plenty can change in that time. The primary thing I got out of talking to him was that Garrett Wilson was never coming to Texas. This was before he committed to Ohio State. Drayton told me they put him with Wilson on Wilson’s visit because of the mutual Ohio connection. All Wilson did was talk about Ohio State the whole time.  As far as his being happy in Austin, he did seem more pro-Austin than pro-Herman. Kinda got the feeling he and Herman had a better working relationship than personal relationship. I wouldn’t be completely shocked if he left, but he intimidated it would be for the NFL if he left to take another RB spot.
