  1. So if the Marine is leaving after today, does any of the OL transfer?

More interestingly is that unless they get an OL coach from somewhere regional, it is going to be real hard to build relationships with 10 months till 2020 NSD.

So a well above average class at OL in Texas, A&M gets a new coach and has to play catch-up in recruiting.  Seems familiar, almost like the same type of thing happened when there was a bumper crop of DBs not to long ago in Texas...

In its report, the Committee on Infractions directly addresses the difference between Mizzou and UNC's cases, which is, essentially, Mizzou admitted to there being fraud and UNC did not.

So dont admit to doing shit wrong you idiots, then the NCAA cant really do much because they lack the power to truly investigate

Baylor still hasn't received any (off-the-field) punishment.

It is still going through the process. I would guess that they have their infractions meeting in Feb/March/April if I remember correctly based on when they were sent their notice of infractions in Nov.

So they should get their penalties just in time for the 2019 season

I hadn't even heard of this story.  Was this a well known investigation?  Bryant has to feel dumb.  Has to be pretty damn close to past the point he could possibly transfer anywhere and get enrolled for spring.  And I'll still never understand how UNC skated.

    UNC skated for 2 reasons:

    1. They had to be dealt with under the old system not the new penalty matrix that is much more hard core

    2. The NCAA had to punt on the issue of clustering and class work because they could not get anyone to roll that this was purely a no show gig for athletes. Lots of smoke, but not fire which was required under the old system.

  5. New penalty matrix vs old legacy rules is the big part of this.

Aggravating factors in the case: Mizzou’s infractions history and “significant eligibility or substantial harm to a student-athlete.”

  6. I think the transfer portal is essentially going to give the upper echelon schools a great resource for plug and play at QB, OL and DL. This instantly makes it easier to whiff on an OL and still not be the end of the world.

Not sure it is going to help too many kids at other positions because of the absolute glut of options it looks like.

If I’m graham harrell why would I hitch my wagon  to a boat anchor?  Within a couple of years he will be OC at a P5 school anyway, with a HC who can win and catapult him to his own HC job.

He said no to UNC this cycle to be OC. Maybe he figured if he can install his O and they win at USC he’s golden and if not he can get the 3 year paycheck for one year of work if they fire Helton?

  8. I am not really seeing much left on the bone for the continuation of the 2019 recruiting class for us at this point.

Bru gave us one hell of a jolt, but I think the drive for 1000 is dead

All that seems left is the inevitable drama of some type surrounding Shepherd to grind out a few pages and then we can pretty much put this class in the books.

Time to chill a bit till the summer and then roll to the 2020 thread.
