  1. If feels like every draft they have when they pick about 24 instead of something like 17 or higher. They tend to be shitty.
  2. Beebe is solid, high floor, but probably won't be a pro bowl type. Solid pick, but I'm not feeling this draft at all. Edge guy has high grades, but the Cowboys seem to draft an edge early every year that never pans out and is gone in a couple of years. OT is drafted on potential more than being a proven guy. It doesn't seem like they are checking off needs the way they need to. They're gonna have to have a big post-draft free agency bargain period.
  3. Guyton at RT makes sense, but I don't see Steele as a guard. The Cowboys seem to want to keep Smith at guard, but he seemed to take to left tackle pretty well, not sure that isn't the best option.
  4. The thing that keeps coming back to me about Cowboys drafts is that they probably spend more draft capital and salary on OL than any other NFL team over the last couple of decades, yet they seem to be rebuilding their OL every other year. They seem to do poorly at sifting out the later round OL prospects, even second and third round guys are often quick flame-outs, meh... or just total busts.
  5. Yeah, I didn't think it sounded like Brookshire. He spent many years teamed up with Pat Summerall back in the great days of real football.
  6. I'm thinking they are drooling over the top 40 yard kickoff specialist. Probably left footed so the ball spins funny.
  7. Winn is encouraging. Things could look up if he turns out to be a legit high leverage relief guy all season. That would be yuge.
  8. Trade down was a good call. 24 is not a great place to be in this draft, or most others. Dropping down a few spots will get a similar level player and they get the 9th pick in the 3rd thrown in. They just have to nail soe good picks. Not sure Guyton is a plug-in left tackle, not a ton of experience there, has had injury history as well, developing player. Thought maybe they would go for Sweat or Brooks, but they have a lot of needs. I wouldn't be that thrilled about taking a center there.
  9. Center speakers are the most misunderstood of almost every setup, and almost always too small for the job when packaged in a set, though it's the most important part of a surround system. Tough to get the adequate volume and tone in your dialogue with little tinny speakers. I have wired two 8 or 10-inch stereo speakers together for that function with a decent degree of success, far better sound, but it takes up more space. These days I prefer to just use two big external speakers without a surround system and just run it stereo or virtual surround and they sound great.
  10. My friend's soundbar is total shit, can't hear dialogue. Wish I could replace it with something. Soundbars in general are shit for a big tv. There's not much room there for receiver with external speakers, so might just look for a bigger decent soundbar that won't be a waste of money. Not many people really understand how those things work. I had an older heavy 50 inch dumb TV with big speakers in the front, like God intended, stashed away for the game room. But it got donated to the poors behind my back. Great picture, sounded damn good with no attachments and didn't have to fudge with streaming shit. Pissed me off bigtime.
  11. Sick of this musical chairs Rangers TV shit. Where the fuck is the game?

    2024 NFL DRAFT

I think this qb class is vastly overrated. Great college qbs that I'm not sure will translate well to NFL and may have long term issues. I wouldn't want to be one of the teams needing to draft a qb early. Later rounds may produce better long term prospects.
  13. Fixin' to turn this shit around...
  14. Thanks, I had to find the alternate channel that wasn't showing on my menu.
  15. Is this game on Apple TV or some bullshit? I finally get a chance to sit down and watch most of a game...
  16. Urethra seems a bit leaky.
  17. Same here. Got LePewed once again.
  18. Seems even more amazing now how the Rangers survived such a shitty bullpen last year to win a Championship. LePew is back to normal. Rangers still need to get a semi legit closer somewhere.
  19. Probably isn't bad for the home team, but I imagine that's some bullshit for the road team. It makes little sense.
  20. Fun start to the season. Had to watch the game away from home, missed most of it because streaming shit they had is a total clusterfuck. Ended up having to watch the last couple innings on Deportes for some reason, the only channel that would work.
  21. They should have spent more money on a better artist.
  22. Noiseless pickups apparently work well with fake amp systems on a big stage. I've had the lace sensors on a Strat and noiseless N3 on a Tele that I got used, hated how sterile they sounded and replaced them.
  23. So I guess this is bad now, but were are still supposed to honor all legends and giants of this popular genre that has similar lyrics, even though it was always crap. Makes sense.
  24. When I first got there and parked near the pits I saw the pit guy walking and talking with what was probably a trainee about details of the job. I liked what little I heard, like the guy actually knew what he was talking about. Definitely encouraging. I'll check back again to test for consistency and be more prepared to get some pics.
  25. Yesterday out toward the lake in the Morgan's Point/Belton area, in a pinch, I needed some food, and about the only thing around was Backyard Barbecue, or BBQ or whatever they call it. I hadn't been there in about 20 years, being unimpressed in prior visits. It was known more for chicken fried steak and other sources of grease and carbohydrates. But I was starving and way late for my usual eating time. I got a brisket and rib plate to go and it was actually quite good! Brisket was moist and smoky with just the right amount of fat, perfect pull, legit barbecue. The rib was large and had a perfect bite, no-frills smoked porky goodness. Sides were good, but I was shocked by how decent the barbecue goods were, and the price was lower than the usual trend. I've definitely been missing out. It may be my new local go-to barbecue destination when both quality and price and the lack of bbq tourist douche element are all factored in.
