  1. It is so damn hilarious when the league nixxed the Chris Paul trade to the Lakers, come on dude.
  2. I mean you can do that with science, we have done an enormous amount of ways to make something truly random like I dunno isotope decay, but instead we get people that are both incredibly lazy (them doing their "own research" is just watching grifters), and special snowflakes who could never follow the "official narrative" Again the list of teams that are drafting #1 is a literal graveyard (except the Spurs that have gotten a lot of ships from it) great players but they almost always leave the teams, and while the Cavs won one it was AFTER the prodigal child returned they were never winning it with just Kirie and Anthony Bennet (lol), one of the most irrelevant things to have a conspiracy on.
  3. That said they need to review the rules once again, the new system encourages more teams tanking, but if they elminate the lottery and do it like the NFL, would NBA teams still tank from the start of the season anyhow?
  4. Conspiracy theory rot brain that is infecting everything, the most hilarious thing is that they can't even get their story straight, the lottery is RIGGED! for ratings! when the Lakers, Knicks, and Boston have a combined ONE first pick (Ewing, the first one, when the lottery was literally even odds for everyone that missed the playoffs). When you see the list of #1 lottery winners you get a graveyard of Nets, Clippers, Cavs, and Spurs. Honestly I think tanking for #1 is more of an excuse for GMs to fail at their jobs.
  5. I don't doubt the UNC ties, reddit has more than a third of posters have dual loyalties, even stuff like Michigan and tOSU fans with flairs, but at the end of the day the sus thing (going around for 20+ years now) are aggies pretending they were never aggies but then they visit Kyle and they become one for life. It is a koolaide cult fanfiction recruiting, and it is the most bizarre thing they do online. (offline they take the cake for weirder things)
  6. And I can fucking guarantee that it will be the worst of the worst not even the ones truly threatened but the 70's and 80's ruling class that got pantsed in their African Wars, the cruelty is the point they would give asylum to Joachim Peiper over an Oskar Schindler.
  7. I mean we are past that, the orange moron signed an executive order giving white South Africans asylum, not South Africans of any race, specifically Afrikaneers. They had an election where the candidate Musk was whining about lost, meanwhile Trump won, the Hitler adjacent candidate there lost while the Hitler adjacent candidate won in the US. We are way past the mask falling off.
  8. Yeah bootlickers in the private sector (including me) are fine with layoffs because it is part of the game, Musk the idiot went into government thinking the same and the pushback has been severe.
  9. Castro called them gusanos and it really does stick, those people are dangerous. The most hardcore MAGA demographic were venezuelan immigrants, the same venezuelan immigrants that were made a target during and after the Trump campaign. Like Missing in Action said it really is a mental disease. Belongs in the Leopard's thread https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/immigration/article303966071.html
  10. Might equals right, I have always been a realist regarding the constitution, including the most famous poison pill that it was never a "suicide pact" I just need people to understand that the genie is out of the bottle, there is no going back from Trump blatantly disobeying the SCOTUS right now, if and most likely when his second coup fails, if we try the "gee whiz Biden administration, I got unlimited unchecked power but I am not going to use it to save the country and its people, part II" we are just kicking the can down the road. The Post Civil War was a constitutional convention and we need another, deeper one.
  11. Barry readily admitted his nobel peace prize was wildly premature in his acceptance speech, and the right still mocked it, here is Donald taking credit for the sun rising from the east and they eat it up as some sort of "troll the libs" There is no adversarial system possible with people that pathetic, the system failed.
  12. There was a war though, the Civil War rewrote the constitution in more ways than just ignoring the Supreme Court on habeas corpus. Including things after it finished like forcing amendments without southern states input. Trump is laughably trying to create false flags to excuse it but there is no war, he would have to start a real second civil war, one that he would lose.
  13. Top of the 9th https://texags.com/forums/8/topics/3541893/19
  14. India used old Soviet equipment as well, some French but mostly Soviet, Pakistan was sold weapons by the US to counter, but right now their best planes are Chinese, the J10-CE with PL-15 (export version) had its first confirmed kill against a Rafale with a bleeding edge EW avionics. Trump is such a nuclear class fuckup, and no I will elaborate here.
  15. Democrats are so stupid sometimes yes "it is the economy stupid" when the macro matches the micro, but right now it is the real golden rule "all politics are local", aka me me me me! This is almost entirely because of the so called independent voter, the low engagement, low knowledge voter that decides elections based on their wallet, the only saving grace of these people is that we can count on them to shit all over future elections, give trump that brown shower, well the second saving grace that fascist cultish MAGA is only 40% of the population. What is most interesting to me is cracking that 40% somehow, maybe the cult is not all powerful, I doubt it but I still want to enjoy the weekend on a high note.
  16. I don't want it put back in, this requires a post war germany denazification campaign.
  17. A little bit of good news for mothers day, Strong disapproval rising fast and strong approval dropping fast is extremely important this is the way for impeachment, the good news is that I thought he would lose weak approval only holding (a pattern from Trump I) but if the fascist wing disengages and are just a puddle it means impeachment is on the table. Its unrealistic of course because even at 10% they scare the coward GOP, but this is still big when Donny tries a second coup, but sadly 3-4 years from now.
  18. The absolute best part is that de minimis gone in one shape or form is one of the few things I am 100% certain about this trade war. Austin is guaranteed poverty.
  19. This graph is the most misleading BS in the entire history of the political landscape, "interactions" could be somebody showing up at a border crossing and asking for asylum, it is a nothingburger number that could actually be a bad thing for border crossings because they make up their minds to pay a coyote. Trump's deportations on the other hand are going to overdrive and if you get caught by ICE you could also be deported to any Gulag, it is so bad right now I warned everybody I know to avoid all border crossings regardless of status, it is that bad.
  20. Stalin was criminally idiotic in trying to appease Hitler in 41, going so far as to execute defecting German soldiers that risked everything to try to warn the Red Army of the imminent invasion, part of it makes sense since the Heer seemed unstoppable in 41, but at the same time it was so stupid to appease people like Hitler (or Trump). The invading army was much larger than the Red Army in 41. Even in terms of quantity they were woefully unprepared. Still it was Munich that kicked everything off, not only did it naively surrendered all of Czechoslovakia (the Sudetenland was mountainous terrain that offered the perfect buffer against a blitzkrieg) all of their tanks and factories (the 38t was comparable to the Panzer III), but most importantly split in half the continental alliance that would ever give Hitler pause, it was a complete and utter failure, I used to buy the argument that it was done to buy time, but British aircraft production was still a joke on year later, it was ideological appeasement through and through.
  21. I think ESPN's biggest craw is that the FCS games tend to happen on the same week leaving a TV black hole the second to last week of the regular season. They could tolerate a more even season long distribution if the FCS games always landed on ESPN+ as opposed to sometimes landing on the flagship. But yeah fuck their practice, we would then start calling them Texas 7&5 after that lol.
  22. Actually it is backwards the real, real what if was Munich, Czechoslovakia had a mutual defense pact with the Soviets and France, It was the conservative government of Chamberlain that pressured the French to abandon them to Hitler and that freaked out Stalin, Poland's own contribution was participating in the invasion of Czechoslovakia and in not allowing the Red Army to pass through their territory and protect them (assuming the Munich agreement never passed). Afterwards Stalin was paranoid about the blue-black alliance and created the red-black alliance, his idiocy was in denial about the buildup and literally being caught with his pants down despite all the evidence to the contrary. But he was the first to take Hitler seriously and negotiated drawing a collective line in the sand, it was the only thing that would have prevented or shortened WWII significantly. Chamberlain resigned after the Norway fiasco, his only saving grace was during the darkest hour where he tilted the needle against Halifax that wanted to surrender. But he was the first coward and history surprisingly does remember him, except for the part that he was a fascist appeaser not just "naive". I wonder how MAGA would have rebranded him today, probably a hero for and Hitler a pro peace leader as well.
  23. I still remember debating Sushi on the number of divisions in the Afrika Korps vs Ostfront good times!
  24. Sadly it does not matter what he does, it is always a convoluted excuse making machine on their part, the problem is what we do and how do we stop doing it. A classical example is calling them "weird" strategy, I know it was Waltz that started it but that was like so damn feminine energy.
