  1. Owens’ ranking has always flummoxed me. Great size, live arm, decent athleticism and he played 6A football in a good district. It’s like the services decided he was a low 3 star as a sophomore and refused to move him until the very end. He practiced and played well in the all star game, but he had excellent junior and senior seasons. Nobody should be surprised he showed out.

Blow up that mofo before they come up with something similar for the EoT …

The Bun B over saturation is perplexing. He’s like Houston’s version of Taylor Swift. He is everywhere.

This is the worst take in surly history. God have mercy on your soul. Crown’s burgers and draft selections are far superior to Posse East. Not even in the same ballpark dude.

Agreed Crown all the way. It’s an actual bar. Posse East while charming, is an icehouse.

True, but in recent stuff prior to his DWI accident, several so-called experts were already pushing Sweat to later 2nd Rd since DTs aren't as valued as other positions.

Late March after Combine,  Matt Miller's 7 round mock

    54. Sweat - Cleveland

Sweat did not make this Top 50...

And Yates left Sweat out of 1st two rounds like you posted before...

Interior DT that can generate a pass rush are highly valued.

Man, that reminds me of the 14 year Longhorn Steakhouse KC 125 proof I got a few years ago. Gave my extra to @NOMAAA. Glorious bottle. RIP.

Thanks again for that intel. I bought 2. I didn’t buy a 3rd because the label was messed up, and I couldn’t be sure it was a Longhorn pick. Unwise.

  6. I picked up another bottle of Bulleit 12 Year Rye. Still under $50 at Spec’s.

The word should be out. Breaking Bourbon had a pretty glowing review for them. https://www.breakingbourbon.com/review/bulleit-rye-12-year-old-2024

They gave it  3.5 barrels, I’d lean towards 4, but close enough.

Per BB, the 2024 release contains 17 year old rye. Bulleit has a special relationship with MGP. I believe back in 2019 they didn’t have enough barrels for a wide release, so MGP sat on them, and blended the 17 year old rye with the 12 year rye.

I know the proof will turn off some people, but it’s an excellent rye even at 95.

About every 12 months, I’ll be hungry and looking around and see a Velvet Taco near where I work. “I haven’t had that in a while. Why don’t I go there more often?”

45 minutes later as I’m walking out: “I’m never eating that fucked up shit again.”

    I don’t ever even ponder entering a Torchy’s.

Are you a competitive eater or something? If 5 tacos from either place is how you qualify a meal, you’re either that or posting 4+bills and need two chairs for your seating.

I was trying to make a joke about their small portions and high prices.

    Stfu. Fr?

Deb’s and Oak both had it on their social media pages. I believe most of the Spec’s locations in the Metroplex have received it. In Houston, I found it Memorial Liquor.

  10. I’d say if you live a neighborhood zoned for Stratford and work at BP, COP, or Shell you got it figured out. Good schools K-12, easy commute, fun neighborhoods, some stuff to do nearby, and you’re close enough to the various entertainment districts.

It took me 45 minutes to get from BW8 to top golf one day after work back in 2016. F that.

my (reverse) commute from the goof to memorial City was 25 minutes.

I’d argue there’s no such thing as a reverse commute in Houston anymore. 45, 59,  and 10 are very busy in every direction from 730am to 10am and 330pm until after 7pm. If it touches a 610, Westpark, or Beltway entrance ramp there will be traffic.

I drove the “reverse commute” from the Heights to Memorial City for about 6 years. I often worked out before work. If I wasn’t on I-10 by 730am,  I was screwed. I left at 430pm everyday and traffic was always miserable.

I live in Memorial now and commute to Greenway Plaza. Much better commute. I just never get on the interstates or 610. Any construction or even a lawn crew blocking a lane causes massive delays, but Briar Forest/San Felipe, Westheimer, and Richmond will all get you east/west.

Many people in my office work the graveyard shift. 5am - 3pm. Katy guys swear by it, but if they don’t leave at 3 they’re cooked. They never attend happy hours, but hey they made their choice.
