Last year, I was miserable from January to mid-June. Had a lot of issues in Paris in late April as well.

This year, was good to go until yesterday, then BAM! Today, been using Mucinex nose spray and Benadryl. Absolutely knackered.

my wife and i got sick in Paris last year from the air pollution. We did the usual walk all over town for a day. Next morning - sinus infections for both of us. And looked online to find out that Paris is indeed one of the most polluted cities in the world.

Flying home with a sinus infection IS NOT FUN

  2. people, religion

    religion, people

i try to not bother anymore in mixing and matching to fit an agenda. people is people.

i, for one, think organized religion is quite weird. but thats just how i was raised. if i was born in indonesia i'd be a muslim. it is what it is.

all that matters is moving forward, engaging only with others moving forward, and trying your hardest to avoid negativity, hatred, anger, bigotry and all the bad shit we unfortunately has been programmed to be capable of

Price?    Was your eyesight deteriorating  consistently prior to the procedure?   Did Dr. Wong give you a guess how long it would take them to deteriorate back to where they were or at least back until you need readers?   That’s what’s stopping me. I wear contacts and it doesn’t really bother me to wear them and deal with them. But I don’t want to pay all that cash only to have to do it again in a few years  or to keep needing readers again soon.

41 years old. constant scrip for 10 years or so. reading starting to fade on me at 39 or so.  vision is supposed to change again till 50 or so. re-evaluate then

LASIK just eliminated the need for contacts. don't quite need readers, but will need readers prob in a few years

$4k or so. thats the going rate.

Doc Wong is a hilarious dude. Very energetic, seems very natural to him too - the procedure and the general feeling of the benefits and how to sell/explain them

I think it kinda depends on what you are using the money for. I opened a heloc for short term cash. Interest only payments. Worked for my purpose at the time.

thinking about putting like $30k into house. kitchen + some other shit. investing in the kitchen is a no brainer. central austin with house that has a plastic kitchen from the 50's.

maybe also some student loans that are in the 6% area. begs the question on the rates

where is Phil? does he to HE or refi?  I will dig around on this and post more as i get into it today

They may suck at war but God damn if the French don't have a lot of this life shit figured out.

i dunno man. we got plenty of teacher child sex stories over here

banging a 60 something year old grandma while you are PM of the country that invented the word "pussy" and in you are in your 30s?

    firmly not winning IMO

Math is the reason why I don’t think Trumpism gets much more formal momentum. They (meaning voters and politicians) will turn on Trumpism in a snap once it’s a loser for them politically.  They may still be deplorables and won’t have actually changed their beliefs, true, but they will slink back off into the shadows again at least.

I’m glad we don’t have a parliamentary system or a fractured multiverse with tons of political parties here like they do in continental Europe.  All those third parties sound nice in theory, but they guarantee the fringe crazies have their voices heard and typically lead to more radical shifts than we have in the USA.  It institutionalizes what we see with Trumpkins taking over the GOP where you have to deal with the 30% of nutters and give them a real place at the table, and makes that a permanent feature instead of an unfortunate outlier.

The two party system and winner take all elections, for all their faults, actually are stabilizing influences.  Some lament how similar the Dems and GOP are, but as frustrating as that can be sometimes, it’s more of a feature than a bug to have that inertia.  Trump isn’t even really introducing that much chaos, and it still sucks.

We may be an Idiocracy, but the Idiocracy is fickle and doesn’t like losing.  They’ll pretend to be all fired up about quantum physics if that’s what the next charismatic leader says we need and is the key to beating the commie libtards / fascist right wingers.

how, my dear Matt, does Trump become a loser to them politically?

I can see only one scenario for that to happen - he does a third trimester abortion on TV while smoking.

  8. Hey friends, just had LASIK. L Shawn Wong at Eye of Texas Laser Center

Great experience. Came recommend from some of you. Eyes are great, procedure was great, recovery great too. Day to day is up and down, but after one month I should be fully in my new 41 year old eyes

I can offer a more detailed review of Doc Wong, the procedure, etc.

Just starting this off as I know others were interested

  9. Hi Friends, so I am considering getting like $40k or so from refi/home equity loans. Have about 66% equity and great credit (800 score) so all good there, but I explored refinance and the rates are much worse than what I got from Phil and crew in 2013.

Have 15 year 3.25% and refi equivalent looks like at least 1% higher on a 10 year and even higher on a 15 year note

Anyone have a good story on just a home equity loan (sans refi)? What kind of rates are out there now and/or what is the best party to get one from?

Any comments welcome. Just starting to look now

Maybe, but Trumpism can still dominate rural states and districts.  Given the electoral college and liberal clustering, Trumpists could lose the popular vote by 10 million and still keep the Presidency and Senate, while almost keeping the House.  The real question is how tyrannical can a minority voting bloc become before the majority has enough.

yeah. thats what i am expecting. a 60/40 pop vote and trump winning. its remarkable.

i don't even want to know what the BS will look like with fake everything by 2020

    wish the nukes were fake

    party on

  11. its really odd actually. we (me, other customers) are there as much as possible and so grateful. bartenders and staff are just laughing along with us. i have been here 10 years and finally we have a local place.

yes, there are places in Mueller that are fun - Gino's, Torchy's (with a bar) and some nice little restaurants for lunch time type shit. But not a nice neighborhood bar with good food. and I mean a bar that makes good OF's.  We have waited for this one spot to get going for 4 years I think. its been unoccupied and just a shithole for what feels like forever. Previously to being a shithole it was a hybrid South Asian / Mexican fruiteria with the cashier working behind bars.

On the up and up over here
