  2. Think two in our first four picks (maybe even two in our first two picks), and who knows after that
  3. Houston traded a 2025 6th rounder for Ed Ingram, who's been graded out as one of the worst pass blocking OGs in the league. He's dirt cheap though
  4. NE cut their long time starting center who only played four games last year due to a shoulder injury. Houston's new OL coach and OC both have coached him. There's a chance his shoulder is just totaled, but Houston should kick the tires here. Getting an experienced center would help solve a lot of issues https://x.com/MikeReiss/status/1900172923345805416
  5. They already have about a dozen WRs rostered, including a bunch of guys who can play slot. I think they'll pass on him and use the money elsewhere. If they hadn't traded for Kirk, it'd make more sense
  6. And now FSU has also gone this route

  8. Shaka had a $500,000 buyout to leave VCU. Nate Oats has an $18,000,000 buyout to leave Bama. Snyder is probably making the NBA playoffs and will have NBA suiters in the low likelihood chance that Atlanta fires him. It's more productive to list realistic candidates
  9. This isn't college football where your option is to "money whip" a coach you've heard of. Major programs hire successful coaches in myriad ways, including drafting from the mid majors
  10. My personal aversion is that they aren't realistic candidates
  11. Breer "• The second question is what happened with Tunsil that made him expendable. Tunsil, to be clear, is well-liked in the Texans’ building. That said, he isn’t a tone-setter, and the offensive line room in Houston last year went the wrong way, becoming borderline toxic, which adds context to the trade of Kenyon Green and the release of Shaq Mason. That’s part of why the Texans figured they probably wouldn’t give him a third top-of-the-market extension in 2026 after having paid him in ’20 (three years, $66 million) and again in ’23 (three years, $75 million). So with his 31st birthday in August, Houston spent the past few weeks quietly measuring trade interest in Tunsil, and eventually found the right deal—the price they received for the 10-year vet is roughly the equivalent of a late first-round pick in the form of the aforementioned swap of the tackle and a fourth-round pick for a third- and seventh- round selections this year, and second- and fourth-rounders in ’26. That gives them resources to find Tunsil’s replacement, if it’s not someone on the roster such as Tytus Howard or Blake Fisher. Will they be able to get a suitable one? How this trade looks in five years rides on it. And while we’re on the big picture, there’s an element of that in this move for the Texans. DeMeco Ryans has kind of makeup he wants on his defense now, with young stars such as Will Anderson Jr. and Derek Stingley Jr. carrying the flag. He’s still trying to find it on offense, and the hope is turning over the roster some on that side—and finding new leaders—helps. That, by the way, doesn’t mean the Commanders are barking up the wrong tree here. Just as the Texans are betting on their ability to find new pieces for their line, Washington is gambling on its culture with this move, and that putting Tunsil in a group with guys such as Daniels and McLaurin will get the best out of him. Remember, the sorts of questions that exist here on Tunsil were once there on Trent Williams. Peters was part of the group that landed him as a result in San Francisco five years ago, and we know how that turned out."
  12. Samson is in the same bucket as Quinn Snyder, Nate Oats, and Bill Walton. Not happening.
  13. They're a stud DT away from being elite, which is why I was hoping they'd land one in the first round, although now it seems like they might have to take an OL
  14. Top five, perhaps better than that
  15. Confirms that it's Howard at LT and Fisher at RT for now https://x.com/AaronWilson_NFL/status/1899546654857896307

    2025 NFL Draft

    https://www.nfl.com/news/eric-edholm-s-top-100-prospects-1-0-ranking-the-best-players-in-the-2025-nfl-draft-class?campaign=Twitter_nfl_cfb
  17. Between Stingley, CGJ, Bullock, and Lassiter, Houston has some ballhawks in the secondary
  18. My guess is they bring in a couple of bargain swing tackles, draft a tackle in the first round (Banks, Ersery, Simmons, Conerly), and then draft a guard in either round 2 or 3 (I'd look at trading up for Donovan Jackson in round 2), and have the two rookies compete with the vet swing guys
  19. "Another Texans trade: Houston is acquiring veteran safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson from the Eagles in exchange for former first-round pick Kenyon Green, per @Djbienaime and me. Trade includes a pick swap with the Eagles getting a 2026 5th-round pick and the Texans getting a 2026 6th." https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1899468341300834598 Fangio to DeMeco should be a smooth transition at safety
  20. If we bring in any OL in free agency before the draft, I'm curious to see if they profile as athletic OZ types that you typically see in a Shanahan/Kubiak offense or the larger bullies that McVay has brought in lately
  21. If they're hoping for an OT in the draft to play day one, the possibilities appear to be Banks, Conerly, Simmons, and Ersery. They might need to trade ahead of Minnesota for some of these guys, who also needs OL help in the draft. Trading up in this draft should be relatively cheap compared to past drafts. I do wonder if there appearing to be potential OT(s) either at #25 or in a short trade up from #25 available was a factor here If the plan is to sign or trade for a stop gap veteran at tackle, or to play Tytus and Fisher there, they could sign another second round toolsy developmental project like Cam Williams or Charles Grant I think it's clear that they didn't want to pay Tunsil his next contract. His current contract is actually probably a good value the next two years, but he's going to want a top of the market extension. They could have waited and traded him after next season and had a LT in place for another year, or they could have played him the next two seasons and gotten the comp pick down the road while potentially dealing with him being upset about not getting extended, but I guess they wanted to go ahead and get the draft assets while ripping off the Band-Aid now
  22. Tunsil is going to want a top three deal I saw the “2nd in pass pro” metric spreading around, but Tice’s (which I’m guessing comes from SIS) rings more true to me
  23. Per Nate Tice, Tunsil was about league average this year on one on one pressure rate at about 10%, which was the worst year of his career Last year was his second worst, which was also near league average Obviously not what you’re paying top dollar for
  24. The 2025 3rd is the Philadelphia pick I believe, which is pick #96
