  1. It sucks for the Cowboys fans who live in Houston like me. Although with they way the old rules governing competing broadcasts against the home team at home are seemingly going the way of the Dodo bird maybe I'll get lucky and they'll actually have Cowboys games on against Texans home games.
  2. Jack White and the fact he owns a place in Deep Ellum deserves a mention as well.
  3. I've never seen this show, but those of you who have what do you think?
  4. Sims' Dad is either an MD or Dentist and the rest of his siblings are fairly highly successful people as well. He's the baby of the family and the feeling among his family members is he needs to be pushed towards autonomy rather than spending another year in school delaying his personal maturation.
  5. Absolutely heartbreaking news. My condolences and sincere prayers go out to the Ehlinger family.
  6. Me thinks you're projecting a little bit or overly sensitive. He just he didn't have a relationship with Lee but respects him tremendously. I'm not sure what you expect him to say when about Lee relative to former LBs he actually created a bond with.
  7. Maybe the fact that Arizona has a new coach will allow him to qualify for a waiver.
  8. I don't know. If he stays in the East and continues to improve he may have a chance.
  9. Turn them off and go to native language with English CC. Netflix should make that the default, dubbing sucks. It's default for me with some shows but with other shows it switches back to the English dubbing. And it totally depends on the profile in use. Lupin defaulted to English dubbing on my wife's profile but native French and English subtitles on my profile. However the opposite was true for Heist with both of us.
  10. Good point about Clark Hunt. I didn't think of the SMU connection. He's on the Ticket more than Jerry so I'm well aware of who he is.
  11. The Ticket in Dallas is saying the 160K is guaranteed. That seems odd unless there have been changes with UDFAs.
  12. I used to believe that, but now I'm of two minds here. 1) Most of the discussion for the removal of the 1yr of college rule happened prior to the Gleague for 1 yr even being a potential concept. There's really no reason for the NBA to change their rule . They went to the one year rule for a specific reason that now has an amenable solution in place. Having the Gleague route available now helps with the issues that came with having to pay 18 year olds who won't contribute and who've never been on their own. 2) However, on the other hand, the grassroots scene has changed significantly over the last 20 years and kids are usually less of the headache that they were back in the early 00s. Mark Cuban was on record discussing the differences between generation Z and the millennials before them. And all the traits of being risk averse and less prone to drug use of their non-basketball playing Gen Z contemporizes apply to the Gen Z bbball players as well. Cuban was on Dallas radio discussing how these kids don't smoke weed and are pretty much homebodies who are on social media all day and are much more aware of the importance of taking care of their bodies at a young age than players before them. So maybe the rule isn't necessary, but I don't see changing the rule to be as much of priority as it was in NBA front offices' minds just 5 years ago
  13. In the coming years as the Gleague opportunities have entered the equation, I'm curious about which group will have the early career endorsement opportunities flowing towards them. The D1 stars shining on TV every night or the Gleague Elite players spending a year in anonymity? My guess is that on average the D1 guys will have more opportunities early in their careers, but I'm curious about the true game changers like Lebron and Zion who come out over the next decade. Will playing a year in anonymity stunt their commercial opportunities beyond what they otherwise would've been or is it inconsequential?
  14. I'd also have to attribute some of our issues drafting for defense to our instability on that side ball since Parcells left. We've remained fairly stable on the offensive side of the ball for the past 15 years while we've been the epitome of volatility on the defensive side of the ball. Stability makes it easier for scouts and the entire front office to pinpoint what type of players have success in a system. Changing defensive schemes every 2 or 3 years probably limits the ability for scouts to evaluate talent at consistently proficient level.
  15. Precisely. This fanbase for some reason values McClay really high. I'm guessing it stems from the offensive side of the ball. Even though that hasn't exactly been a great strategy i.e. Going all in to build some mammoth OL. Using so much draft capital. It values him high because before he came along we'd do things like draft for special teams and take Quincy Carter in the 2nd round. In other words, McClay's esteem is all relative to the absolute shit show that took place when Jerry was truly running things.
  16. The Cowboys haven't drafted a safety before the 4th round in 8 drafts yet for some reason we as fans continue to be surprised when they don't draft highly rated safeties with their top 100 picks. It's clear as day they don't value safeties. And honestly the league doesn't seem to value them either. Top rated safeties go later than predicted every year in the last few drafts.
  17. People forget this or probably didn't pay as much attention to it last year but when the 2 of them were on the court Ramey's utilization #s were slightly higher than Coleman's last year. Coleman ended a lot of possessions last year aligned at the 3pt baseline with Ramey at the top functionally making Ramey our PG.
  18. Music to my ears. Get Larsson, hope for SIms, and let's saddle up for next year.
  19. I said it another thread, but I'd rather this guy than Wheeler. For such a short guy I'm surprised that Wheeler isn't more of a quick twitch or super speedy player. I'd rather get a guy like Larsson who looks to have a multifaceted and mature skillset in a 6'5" body. He's Jace Febres with actual game or an analogue to AJ1. Plus he's the type of guy I'd like to see starting alongside Arterio Morris and Keyonte George the year after next.

  21. I disagree that Ramey is mainly a spot up shooter. Maybe it's the fact that he's not really athletic and has a probing game, but his style of play reminds me a lot of J'Covan. He had a lot of good moments this year most memorably the play to setup AJ1's buzzer beater against at WVU.
  22. Ramey is a poor man's J'Covan. He's a better 3 point shooter than Brown, but his lack of a mid range game and the savvy or change of pace to consistently get by defenders while driving holds him back.
