For years like clockwork every June, in the dregs of the offseason, I'd have a nightmare about the upcoming season. Usually it was us losing to Rice or some other piddly school by some weird score like 41-4. There was one exception -- we had a chance to pull out a game against some much weaker team, but as soon as we got the ball, a Biblical flash flood tumped three feet of water onto the field , but the refs said we should play on....well, it's hard to run an offense in three feet of brown flood water, so we did not win that game either.

As I got older and the team went into a decade of suckage, these dreams faded away, but I had another one today. I was at some party and came into the living room and my dad is watching the TV in disgust. "How is it it's been a fuckin' decade now and we haven't figured these chumps out yet?" I looked at the TV and it was TCU 42, Texas 3. I had no answer. My mind reeled. I actually thought in the dream about the "Fire Sark" thread that was probably up and running.

But it's a good sign. I choose to believe it means the team is sneaky-good and we are gonna whoop some ass this year, just like all those years we did when I dreamed otherwise.

Those three Charlie Strong years were not a dream, dude. I wish your rationalization of those years were a dream.

Dude, he said Chip should be a Hollywood writer for a Netflix show, the implication being that Chip makes shit up.  He went on to say that Chip does this because ne doesn't really know anything about football.  How did you come to the conclusion that he was dissing Casey?

I've never been to a Tech game in Lubbock. In '98, when we did have the Internet and I was posting while in college, I had a chance to go with my roommates and some other buddies. But, I needed to work, I told myself. Ended up bringing a coworker home on Friday night and using both roommates' beds for the next two days, just fucking wrecking them. Watching the Tech debacle that Saturday only made things more violent. Good lord.

Anyway, my roommates and friends came home on Sunday evening to complain of the hideous behaviors they'd yet again witnessed in Lubbock. I felt bad for them, but not really. Both roommates ended up being furious about their sheets and such. Told them I'd also witnessed some hideous behaviors while they were gone. I found it funny, but I also was banned because of a Tech game in the 90's - banned from being in the apartment alone on a Tech weekend. I still hear shit about it and I still laugh. Many of us were barely qualified as human in college.

This sounds like a Penthouse forum letter crossed with a Goldilocks fetish, bravo.

So "stay on the point of the argument" like you were clearly incapable of doing when you took a lame shot at an admittedly horrible football program from the last 30 years.

The only people repping you are olds that are still somehow pissed about the dicking SMU laid on UT in '85.

Go ahead and beat up the disabled kid. I've suffered through the same shit that you have, Einstein.

Geez, the bestest longhorn fan for ever and ever is getting a little emotional here.  Condolences.

Nice. How many conference titles and national title shots did that get us?

I love Sam. I want him to succeed. That doesn't mean we need to be revisionist about his career at Texas. He was dealt a relatively shitty hand and he handled it fine. If he finds more success at the pro level I'll be ecstatic - I was going nuts for every one of his big plays down the stretch today.

I think some of you underestimate how deeply I bleed for Texas football simply because I didn't go to UT. You will never offend me by taking shots at my Alma mater. I don't regret where I went. I also don't have anything other than undying, emotionally unhealthy support for the football program at the University of Texas.

This is what I'm wearing today and it was just what I grabbed in my closet that was clean.

Insult SMU all you want and question my allegiance all you want - I know who I am and where my heart lies at the end of the day. I had reasons for not attending UT and I'll be honest some days I think about what if. But most of the time I don't because I got away from my home town and had the best 3.5 years of my life.

You took a lame shot at SMU to help get your shitty point across and I felt it a good opportunity to try and shut the numerous fucks here that make fun of me for going to SMU. I am a bigger Texas football fan than most everyone that has a degree from Texas. Sorry that chaps your ass. Maybe pipe down next time.

dude, the SMU snark was a complete throw away line; don't get your panties in a bunch.  And no you are not a bigger Texas fan than blah blah blah, jesus christ nobody cares.

stay on the specific point of the argument, Sam Ehlinger's interceptions, rather than take further potshots on the bigger picture of the football program

anyway, love the ponies for the following:

jesus fucking christ, you are the one who posted a 'disbelieving' gif regarding Sam's penchant for interceptions.  I posted the above stat and you bring up fucking conference titles and national title shots?  What the fuck?  It's very simple, he didn't turn the ball over much during his career. No need to move the fucking goal posts.

I remember him making a lot of shitty plays at various points in his career but okay. It's not like we have a small sample size here.

I don't know, a big 12 record 308 passes without an interception seems pretty good, but maybe someone in a pony uniform has done better.

But, then again, nobody gives a fuck about that.

my beef with 11am games, at least the past decade, is that i drown my football sorrows, so i'm drunk as shit by 2pm, passed out by 3, and hungover with a massive headache by 6pm on a saturday night!

one of the Maryland games...my niece decided to 'drop in' unexpectedly at about 2:30pm...and found me naked in the pool unable to talk without slurring and i couldnt even explain why 😄

not my finest moment as her stalwart role model aunt 😳😜

Boys, I can't help but feel a seismic shift in "who has hand."

When aggy was accepted into the SEC, I imagine the thinking was long these lines, " Ok boys, there is a recruiting rich environment in the State of Texas and we are not getting enough of them. There are a lot of television sets in Houston too. Let's go after them.

So, they naturally look at aggy. And the SEC knows that aggy has not finished in the top 4 in football, basketball nor baseball since before the North Koreans poured over the 38th parallel. aggy has a massive inferiority complex and will be just the type of cuckold puppet we need. They won't challenge our national power programs and they will put the conference above their own needs. And... we can screw with Texas a little bit. And so .... aggy gets the invitation. And it works out exactly like the SEC thought it would.  aggy trumpets the conference, doesn't even win their own division, and they don't see that the SEC is humping their wife every time aggy goes out into the sheep fields.

With Texas ... there is a different narrative. Texas brings to the SEC a national brand. It bolsters the SEC's bankroll and makes negotiations with the SEC's Sith Lord and Master, the Mouse, a bit easier. BUT, for the mighty SEC there is a downside. Whereas, aggy wasn't much of a threat to go into Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia to poach recruits... we are... and will. After all, "How ya gonna keep 'em down on the Farm after they've seen Paree? (or Austin)" They are bringing the wealthiest and now, most successful athletic program into the SEC.

Undoubtedly, there have been talks about conference championship games rotating with some being played in Texas.... something the SEC did not even have to consider when the cuckold puppet joined.

As Japanese Admiral Yamamoto wrote in his diary, "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant ... and filled him with a terrible resolve."

Did someone say Sleeping Giant?  I'm about ready wake up and start slapping bitches.

Came into the office today, usually get in early and it's relatively empty. New chick that just graduated a few months ago from TCU is also here.

Next thing I know, she's fucking spitting fire at me about Texas" "ruining college athletics and I hope you guys lose every game in every sport for the rest of your lives! you couldn't handle losing to us every year so you grabbed your balls and went home!"

"We don't grab balls. You're thinking of the aggies. When they did that last, you fell ass backwards into this dumpster fire of a conference. You just got to take advantage of the worst decade in Texas football history and we still have a record of like 60-20 against your program. You should be thanking Texas for that last glimmer of relevance and figuring out how to help elevate the AAC to an autobid conference after it dismantles the Big 12 and hopefully, for you, grabs TCU in doing so. Regardless, you're welcome, and maybe we'll schedule y'all as a cupcake sometime in the nonconference."

Then she literally screamed at me about "not going to the fucking AAC! the SEC should be inviting us!!"

These people aren't just losing their shit online. They're also coming unhinged in-person. In any event, like TCU, I'm sure she'll be landing on her feet somewhere decent soon anyway.
