I’ve always liked to march to my own beat and make decisions irrespective of other opinions, but I am heeding all of the feedback about attending the Ohio State game. People who went in 2005 have always commented about how disgusted they were by the OSU fans throughout the experience. Normally we go to big away games but … nope. It helps that I’ve been to Columbus on business trips a few times and do not find the place compelling. @texifornia has always defended the place when it’s discussed, but he and I travel different. I give every place a chance to endear me to it, but I don’t need to find charm if it’s hiding from me. I view that town as mid-American nothingness.
Going to Kentucky via a stayover in Louisville. We’re going with a Louisville native, who attended UK, and her husband, who played under Mumme at UK. We’re going to be shown the in’s, out’s and what-have-you’s. Excited. We should all meet up.
Going to Georgia and expecting great hospitality until Texas wins. Georgia fans were treated right in Austin and still acted like asses after the win.
Have no plans of ever attending anything in Starkville.
I want to go to Gainesville, but not enough to plan ahead. We’ll make that decision as we get closer, and if we have to pay premiums for that, so be it. Trying to figure out a reason beyond the game to feel compelled to make the trip.
We will also be traveling to the OU game with our full brood, per the usual.
