Statesman sports columnists Cedric Golden and Kirk Bohls discuss their first impressions of the Texas Football program’s seven new coaches after a news conference on Feb. 11, 2020. The new coaches include Mike Yurcich, Chris Ash, Jay Boulware, Andre Coleman, Mark Hagen, Coleman Hutzler and Jay Valai.

Whittington was the frosh who got injured early and had only a handful of carries?

From the extremely small sample size, he looked quicker than a waterbug. If this new role gets him the ball in space, I'm all for it, although I was looking forward to seeing what he could do with more carries at tailback.

Yeah, I'd rather Whittington remain as a Flex RB.

  3. Listening to last week's episode of Horns247's Longhorn Blitz podcast & seeing how both UT & A&M's recruiting classes have played out these last 2-3 recruiting cycles, is it safe to say that UT has to recruit nationally & not just depend on the state of Texas?

Has LSU hired an OC to replace Joe Brady yet?

    Steve Ensminger was their OC.

So in 2020 is LSU gonna run the same offense they ran last season but with Ensminger completely in charge?

I'm getting caught up after a week away, so this is an old discussion, but Princely isn't flaky in the same way as Shepherd was.

My biggest concern is that he doesn't want to play positions that he's suited for.  His best potential is as a 3-4 DE, and he thinks himself a Speed Rush OLB.  Tunmise will have the same problem.

Where does Princely fit in a 4-DL defense, SDE or 3-tech DT? Him thinking that he's a passrushing WDE/OLB is laughable.

Yeah, Moore coming back would be big for our WR room, and I think it’ll happen. Pretty much anytime a coach takes a wait and see approach for this long with a player, it means he’s keeping him batting something really bad coming out of it (a felony charge/conviction in this case). Still, Getting those gun charges was monumentally stupid on his part. Moore has the versatility to play all three spots, and he showed some very promising flashes in his first year.

Is Moore participating in offseason winter workouts?

Nope, apparently he's no longer in the picture. Rumblings he might keep Nixon, their current guy.

Who was the offensive assistant/OC that Rhule brought from Oregon when Baylor hired Rhule?
