Nahlin apparently hinting that Ash is happening now.

Even though Nahlin has been previously saying that Ash is the floor of the DC search. I realized Yesterday that Burton is probably right about Ash being the guy because we haven't heard shit about any other DC candidates.

  2. It's 2019. Is there a way to watch a livestream of these playoff games?

Maxpreps seems to put up full highlights of these big playoff games on their official YouTube channel that they cut up from a Texans Live or NFHS network broadcast of the games.

I can't believe people pay actual money to these sites. I'm thankful to those who do, but why? We have posters here who could hit a dartboard with more accuracy than anything those rubes are typing out.

LOL, could you imagine if pro sports was the same way? Paying 9.95 a month for Dallas cowboys info.

Dude, I'm a hard core Bucs fan, and I would NEVER pay a dime for info, so I can't imagine Cowboys/Texans fans doing it. That would suuuuuuck getting your hopes up each year while paying. I guess I've accepted we suck, so I don't need to send money to read about it.

Speaking of the 9.95ers, did y'all ever notice the rest of the CFB/Sports media doesn't respect them? It's amusing when national sports media outlets won't credit a 9.95er for breaking a story because the 9.95er has the story behind a paywall.

New coordinators will be named within the next few days, at the latest.

If this is true, Herman most likely land his top coordinator choices.

4th and 5 takes a look at what the Alamo Bowl means for the Longhorns in recruiting and in the context of the season. What are their first impressions of the Utes and how do they compare to Texas.

Then they give their thoughts on what is going on with the coaching search and what fans should expect.

Did Ashlee just run Malzahan's offense when he was at Auburn or did he bring something new to the table?

Lashlee had been with Malzahn since Malzahn was a High School coach. So of course Lashlee was running's Malzahn's system.

Ummm, No!!  I remember that OC search after the 2015 season vividly since I was an IT subscriber back than. Sonny Cumbie was choice 1A & Sterlin Gilbert was choice 1B.

This is why we flew the UT school president & AD to Tulsa to get Gilbert. Because if we didn't Gilbert, UT would be looking at hiring a meh list of 2nd wave OC candidates.

It's 4 years later. Can we find out who the supposed undisclosed candidate was?

I agree there's no chance at Brady.  He's just be a position coach (at least in title) at LSU right now, so t first glance, it may have seemed like Texas could offer him a pretty good promotion, which we could.  But then you have to assume LSU would just match whatever offer we were able to throw at him and make him co-OC and boom, the Texas job is suddenly a step backward (as has been pointed out by several other posters).  I don't think UT could offer anything that LSU won't easily match so he's not going anywhere.

Harrell is a little different story.  Very similar situations between USC and Texas.  I assume both could give him equal money and equal job title.  As for job security, you have to assume Helton and Herman are pretty much one in the same as far as the next year or two.  They're both on pretty thin ice.  The only differentiator I can see is that Harrell is a Texas guy so he might want to come home.  But you also have to weigh that against the continuity factor of staying at USC, both professionally and personally.  We can throw everything we want at him to try to pry him loose, but you have to believe that, as arguably Helton's best asset, USC is going to throw everything at him to not let that happen.  I think I'd stay if I were him.  Although, fuck living in California so I'd probably be ready to get back to Texas at the first chance I had.

Lashlee probably seems the most likely from the names I've seen thrown around the most.  Hard to tell how much is him and how much is Dykes.  He's definitely had somewhat of a downward trajectory post-Auburn.  But again, hard to know what all the circumstances were surrounding that.  I think another factor that may play into this is the Arkansas gig.  Whoever lands there as the head coach will undoubtedly have Lashlee toward the top of their list, especially if it's Eliah Drinkwitz.  So, he may want to wait that out and see what happens.

I'm cool (not cold) on Morris too for reasons already stated.  And I really don't think it's very likely.  If Texas is able to pry Harrell from USC, I could see Morris ending up there.

What you think about Baby Briles as a OC canidate?

Also, not so sure how great Joe Brady actually is. Burrow and those receivers would make anyone look good. I have Harrell ahead of him.

Co-sign. If Chad Morris & Baby Briles aren't options for the OC job, than Harrell makes the most sense. Joe Brady's NEVER been a playcaller & we don't know if he just lucked into the right QB. Meanwhile Harrell runs a proven established familiar offensive system in CFB & Texas H.S. football.

Nahlin shits on Lashlee, implies a candidate for dc has been offered and we are waiting for them to formally accept.

Based on prior IT info, this could be Scalley. It could also be the only known interview, Ash.

Seeing both Baylor and OU get pressure with a three man rush makes you wonder whether Giles is the bigger issue than Orlando. Burt pointed out all year that the weak rush was making it impossible for Orlando to scheme success.

If you can get real pressure with three guys, that changes everything for the defense. Everything. I’ll admit I was constantly pushing for a four man rush, but primarily because I never saw our three man rush get there. It never occurred to me you actually could.

Lulz. Baylor and OU don't deploy their DL for the intended purpose to occupy blockers. When Texas allowed their DE's to play 5 technique against Tech, they wrecked havoc.

I asked earlier in the season is Orlando's defense a 1-gap or 2-gap defense? I didn't get a serious answer.  Based on @HtownHorn's post looks like I finally have my answer. Orlando's defense was a 2-gap defense.

"December 2, 2019 - Coaching Changes and Texas Tech Recap"

    https://player.fm/series/burnt-orange-nation-for-texas-longhorns-fans/december-2-2019-coaching-changes-and-texas-tech-recap

Texas Longhorns head coach Tom Herman announced Sunday that offensive coordinator Tim Beck and defensive coordinator Todd Orlando would no-longer be at the helm. While Beck remains with the team as a quarterbacks coach, Orlando is looking for a landing spot. What do these moves say about Texas and who can they look to in order to fill the void?

There was football played, as the Longhorns dominated the Texas Tech Red Raiders, featuring solid performances from both sides of the ball.

Who are the hosts of the BON podcast? Is Wescott Eberts 1 of the co-hosts?

I keep shaking my head about people who are worried about if Harrell is a good recruiter or not. OCs & DCs being a good recruiter is a bonus, not a requirement. X&O's is way more important at those coaching positions.
