Damn it. That’s far and away most irritating thing ever. Rental but whatever. My GMs are like you describe, as long as it’s in pocket you’re good.  I’ll see if I can snap a pic when I go out tonight.

Yeah it sounds obnoxious having to jam that bigass keyfob into the button every time.  Might as well just use a real, old fashioned key at that point.

This dude here says that's how you start it when the fob battery is dead, but I don't get why it would work for everything else if that was the case.

Yeah, it has to “recognize” the fob.  The painted words on the ignition button are mostly long gone already from it.   First time I’ve seen it. I’m absolutely going to try and remedy it though.

The only time the key comes out of my pocket until I'm at home is if I remote start it.  Didn't know this was even an option.

I don't turn my auto start/stop off like @smuggs does, but it doesn't take much time at all to start up.  Like...lift the foot, engine starts, press gas to go.  My wife's JL has a different battery configuration (it's an option on both) that allows it to stay off longer and starts up a bit more smoothly, but nothing too drastic.  It kinda sounds like there's something wrong with your rental.  Either way, press the button with a circled A to make it stop.

Never have had a problem in either of mine (21 80th Anniversary and 21 Mojave) with the back end coming loose, although I don't exactly hammer it down, and the tires on them are/were essentially brand new.

Carriers are not allowed in the Black Sea in any case (rather, they aren’t allowed through the Dardanelles or Bosporus). The Kuznetsov is mostly a loss simply because it’s not trying down any NATO assets to watch it.

Kuznetsov probably couldn't make it over there without help anyway.  It's more of an observation with this one.  I really kind of wonder why they didn't do this years ago and get the drydock evolution completed asap.  Once the floating dock sank, that is.  I guess this may be "asap" with them...

Let’s keep giving them older and older shit, and see exactly how far back in tech we can go and still be superior to current russia (which means current Chinese in a lot of areas I believe)

    unbox the f-4s and sidewinders.

That's probably overkill.  Go all the way back to the F-4B or C and it's still a monstrous bomb truck.  Need like F-100s at this point.

E: @Macanudo's Spads would probably be about the same.  Also those have some serious style.

Yep, and Ukraine needs to get ready for a long war. Sucks. They don't deserve this shit. Still hoping some General pops the Bunker Dwarf with their Makarov.

As far as I can tell, that's basically what Makarovs are made for, so here's hoping.

I know as Americans, especially maybe a little older Americans like me (duck and cover in school, air raid sirens, etc), we're basically built to not like Russians, but holy fuck they really went out of their way to make sure that's how everyone feels about them.

I have a drone I would be happy to send if I had a good link up. All my contacts pulled back to Poland to do evacuation support.

And I am sure they would love 1 more.

I'm sure they would, but then again the more people who can get away from these psychopaths the better.

Not sure, but they are hard to find. We had them on Security Teams in Peru and Afghanistan. Fun to fire and reliable. But right now if I had one I would send it to the UA.  They need them and I don't.

Hell, they've essentially got a supply line directly from Russia at this point.

    They are a solid system.

Would need to find ammo for a -74 like that somehow though.  Wasn't e: (wtf it just submitted) some company moving production here?  Would have been Russian though, so I wonder if that will ever go through after this dumpster fire.

I guess that I can't understand not making sure that every weapon in reach is in perfect working order and ready for immediate use in a combat zone.  I hope the Rushist bastards keep to that low standard.

Right?  Granted, shit definitely happens, and this could have been shit happening, but with how much of a clusterfuck this whole thing has been on the Russian side I'm with you in assuming "poorly maintained."

The only reason for the tank to exist is the main gun.  And it jams.  Bet you a dollar it isn't being properly maintained.

That's apparently a (poorly maintained) BMP instead of a tank.  It was probably also carrying some infantry, although it could have been some weirdo air defense or whatever variant.  Dude has other videos showing it after it was knocked out and before he was captured.

E:  He's also really calm in the other one I've seen, even with blown up body parts around him, his vehicle still smoking behind him, and Ukranian troops nearby. By "nearby," I mean he's recording them with his phone while they're walking by.  It's in that Reddit thread.
