On that same note, we are projecting our own moral and ethical platitudes onto the program to the point that it can't succeed in the arena that it plays in.  Not saying anything about Urban. More addressing the moral and ethical expectations of our fans vs what college football actually is.  We can win, but it's gonna be at the rate we've won the last 30 years when we find a coach that meets all of our criteria including being liked enough by the big donors enough to be morally a little more loose behind the scenes.  Not advocating we go full on dirtbag, rather saying, lower your expectations and the notion that we are a football school if you can't stomach actually playing the game some.

I'm pretty sure our BMDs have been and will continue to be "loose behind the scenes" without it getting back to anyone, including DKR in the past. I'm sure Mensa isn't scrutinizing what goes on outside his purview too closely. Or does he strike you as morally upstanding in an evangelical way? I think not.

The difference between us and the brazenly stupid (see SMU, aggy, USC, et al) is our alums know how to keep their mouths shut and not get too bold with hand-outs. Our 'croots get nice used cars purchased by their aunt or uncle. No, I have no "proof" this happens at UT or anywhere else the NCAA hasn't cracked down. It's just my conjecture.

But, maybe we should go all-in like USC purchasing Reggie Bush's parents a house or Bama doing the same while finding Tua Tagovailoa's parents gainful "employment" in Tuscaloosa. Right, @closetojumping ?

The NCAA doesn't want to bust anyone these days. Why kill the golden goose?

Agree. Unpopular opinion, we will be stuck in mediocrity as long as we are hitched to this shitass conference

Yes, because this "shitass conference" has really held OU back from CFB Playoff consideration.

And we wonder why we can't get back to prominence. We've never been squeaky clean ever when we've been at the top. If you want to win you've got to play the game and hire cold hitting pipe hitters. Fuck you dorks that want to be Michigan - go cheer for them.

I'd take "being Michigan" over this shit-show right now.

    ? about the offsides...

Where was Roach lined up?  I was too busy throwing a tantrum to watch the replay.  Unless he was off the center, he had no business, whatsoever, trying to jump the count.  A 270-ish pound DE is almost never going to get the the kicker from the edge.

Nevermind.  I see on the made field goal he is lined up off the center.  Still pisses me off.

Yep - B gap to the right of the guard. Bonehead mistake trying to anticipate the snap.

  5. Friendly reminder that TFH is not CDC's hire and may not be his guy.

Perrin hired him because he was the latest G5 flavor of the month and the BMDs wanted him. But, do they still want him after this shit-show? Has anybody reached out to Urban Meyer's agent? Is there another HC worth making a change for that UT can actually get?

This is the truth. No sane Texas fan cares enough about aggy the way he does. It’s embarrassing.

494 pages on the aggy thread say A&M is still amusing to many.

Hell, we've got 50 pages trying to analyze what went wrong for Chuckles. Short version - he sucked.

12 kids died for nothing and the aggys learned absolutely nothing. They are still culturally impaired when it comes to identifying stupid and potentially dangerous situations.

Untrue. The 12 died the way good, redass aggies should - erecting a poorly designed, pagan monument symbolizing their "burning desire" to beat tu.

They need to bring back this hat as an option too.

That cap would look better with their brown jerseys, IMO. Breaks up the brown a little bit. Maybe the Padres should do a gold alt jersey, too, to wear with it?

The Texas throwbacks are perfect and should be our full time uniforms. Simple, straightforward, and classic. The stormtroopers would be insanely clean with this look. Can you even imagine.

KSU unis/logo are great. No way they should be putting that high school “Cats” shit on their helmet. White helmets are acceptable on occasion though.

    Agree.

I haven't seen K-State in the all-whites yet, but that'd look pretty awesome too. The Stormtrooper uni is often imitated, but never duplicated. \m/

Nothing like black uniforms when you're playing during the day.

It's gonna be colder than a coal-diggers ass in Iowa, so the black may actually help retain what little sun and warmth there is.

We fucked up our uniforms in 2012 with that dumbass collar logo so we don’t get to talk anymore. The front of the Texas uniform is more cluttered than nascar.

Agreed. Too much unnecessary clutter on the front of the 'Horns jerseys. I love the throw-backs, but will like 'em equally well with "TEXAS" lettering.

Doesn't make K-State's HS helmets look any better to me, though. But, their white lids with the Powercat look good.

It’s nice to see KSU trying something new. These look clean.

    Meh

To each his own, but IMO the logo on your helmet should be your brand. The Powercat is K-State's brand. The "Cats" script looks like it could be any random high school. I don't know why K-State would get away from The Wizard's classic, traditional, Cowboys knock-off uniforms. Does it really help recruiting? I find that hard to believe - see Alabama, Penn State, and UT.

But, I'm a 50+ white guy so get off my damn lawn with this crap. And your "numbers on one side, logo on the other" helmets too.

I'm not certain why, after consistently demonstrating his tenuous grasp of things like Facts, or personal honor or integrity, you'd trust any opinion or declaration he makes in ANY thread.

Well, RD has foot-noted much of it at aggypedia.com. I'm certainly not going to research A&M's history.

Why do this to yourself and the rest of us? I mean, I get it to some degree - dangling bait in front of RD is sort of like watching a bum fight or some good old-fashioned midget tossing. That considered, it gets old by the 5th or 6th time he automatically launches into the same word walls and vomits them onto the board.

The premise that the AD at Texas won't make a change in a major sport exhibiting failure at the HC level until after the next realignment round, ie., for the next 6 years!, is so preposterous that it almost defies comprehension. That this message is delivered by a guy that claims constantly to have an audience within the AD when everything he writes and purports to do flies in the face of having any basic knowledge of what's actually happening in the AD is, well, hilariously probably the only way the message could exist in the first place.

    Sorry, man, I couldn't resist.

I enjoy many of RD's rants even when they don't make a damn bit of sense whatsoever. Guess I should seek help. He amuses me, but RD should probably stay in his lane - the aggy thread.
