  1. Well goddammit. Why didn't you tell me about this an hour ago?
  2. Not one of the 995ers will acknowledge the lack of talent on campus. Here's some brutal reality for you. Player status for 19/20 classes combined (descending) Of the top 10 signed prospects in '19/'20, 1 is a Heisman level player, 1 has only strung together a few games without breaking his body, 1 is constantly being played out of position, and the rest are jags or gone. Now look at the diamonds in the rough. Who panned out? How many of these guys would be playing at all if the guys in front of them weren't total busts or transfer? Sweat? Wiley can't be relied on to play half of what his position entails, and the rest are either gone, jags, or have no business playing right now (though I would entertain arguments for Barron). Finally, the meat of the classes where you find the surprise starters, depth, and specialists/situational players. A bunch of OL jags yet to sniff the depth chart, evals yet to pan out, and guys who wouldn't be playing if not for attrition and injuries. This tier gives us exactly one guy who has outplayed his ranking in Roschon. Herman got a lot of credit for '18 and '19, but we're watching the dumpster fire that is the 2018 class as mostly starters, and there's nothing of value behind them with the exception of a handful of guys who may still pan out + Bijan Robinson. We have nothing. This is a rebuild. Hopefully Sark treats it like one.
  3. The players have had 'you're not the problem, coaching is the problem' reinforced over the last 3 offseasons which, for me, has sustained the entitlement issue. Add in the reality of the upper half of the 2019 class, the reality of the bottom of the 2020 class, and this staff is working with a plurality of jags and guys who will never believe they're the problem. Sark wasn't a great hire and his laissez faire culture installation led by the most likeable S&C coach of all time isn't actively correcting the problem or inspiring hope for the future. I have no confidence that he'll succeed here due to his inability to manage this inherited abomination, but I still think it's reasonable to recognize that none of these issues are new and all of this is/was predictable. Sark didn't fix it, but he didn't create it either.
  4. New offer for fast rising '23 https://247sports.com/player/sean-stewart-46103826/
  5. Oh, I get the joke. It's self awareness at it's finest to troll his own double down in wrongness.
  6. Main Event is also a shithole, it just lacks the dive bar vibe. It's also technically in Austin, but I digress. Pointing out that Dart Bowl is a shithole isn't a judgement of you. Bowling sucks. Go do something else.
  7. Dart Bowl was a shithole. No amount of nostalgia is going to change that.
  8. What if rainbows were made of llamas in pants? Am I doing this right?
  9. Verbal commits is reporting 2 new offers - looks like the staff did some in-person evaluating in Arizona last week. '22 - Adrame Diongue, a 7'0 C from Arizona by way of Senegal https://247sports.com/player/adrame-diongue-46102252/ '23 - David Tubek, SF from Glendale by way of South Sudan https://verbalcommits.com/players/adrame-diongue
  10. I’m enjoying this series
  11. Tell me you’re fat without telling me you’re fat
  12. "Support Texas Football players legally for only the price of a cup of coffee*!" *filled with two ounces of weed
  13. Really enjoying the continuing trend of changing avatars to other poster's actual faces. Well done, @JesusSweatDuck "JuSt LoOkInG oUt FoR tHe KiDs" When you root for Texas in the NIL age, allowing the free market to work is a positive. Let's not overthink.
  14. I went back and read Roach's post-morterm on that class and he said something to the effect that Watts and Texas/Herman just weren't a fit and both parties moved on. Everyone who we have recruited and would be noteworthy reaching out at positions of need. That's exactly what the list is. While I think it's Anderson, it's worth remembering guys we missed on in the summer.
  15. Idk that they looked shitty, but their secondary is pretty young. Ryan Watts of all people played a lot and looked really fucking good. A missed eval by the last staff. It would be terrific if Brooks sees an easier path to playing time here and reached out, but I still think it's Anderson.
